CGM decreased the frequency of severe hypoglycaemic events in this high-risk population, and produced less glucose variability, but without a change in HbA1c.

Lancet 2014 Conclusions Treatment with an insulin pump reduced glycated haemoglobin more than multiple daily injections in patients with type 2 diabetes. Masked continuous glucose monitoring showed clinically significant reductions in the time spent in hyperglycaemia while using pump treatment, without an increase in the time spent in hypoglycaemia.
