6 Medical Devices and IVD Regulations in EU, US and other countries Status: Mei 2017 : publicatie Medical Device Regulation (MDR) Mei 2020 ; in werking (overgangsperiode van 3 jaar) Doel: Meer transparantie voor patienten en betere traceerbaarheid Wat regelt de MDR: Europese databank met informatie over medische hulpmiddelen (EUDAMED). Fabrikanten moeten een unieke identificatiecode op hun hulpmiddel aanbrengen, zodat makkelijk is na te gaan waar een product vandaan komt. Patiënten met een implantaat krijgen gerichte informatie over het product met behulp van een implantaatkaart. De fabrikant moet deze kaart verstrekken. In de praktijk zal de patiënt de implantaatkaart via zijn zorgaanbieder krijgen. UDI assigning entities: GS1, HIBCC and ICCBBA Zorgverleners zijn verplicht te registeren aan de bron
