Voor Autre Choix, het styling- en design bureau van Irene van Ophoven, is Milaan een logische stap na de Dutch Design Week. De textielcollectie die zij bij de tentoonstelling van Tuttobene in Milaan presenteert, heeft als titel 'Time Travel' en is geïnspireerd op abstracte en atmosferische beelden van versnelling en technologie. De grote grafische formaten van de dessins maken de collectie geschikt voor hoge ruimtes. De ontwerpen zijn uitgevoerd met een digitale print op gordijn- en meubelstoffen. Deze interieurstoffen zijn tevens geschikt voor de projectmarkt. Space-age homefashion Autre Choix vertaalt trends in het creëren van een totaal beleving, onder andere door het ontwerpen van dessins. Met deze collectie 'Time Travel' verbeeldt Autre Choix de trend van een nieuw soort space-age. We zoeken de ruimte op: in onontdekt terrein, in natuurlijke energie, weg van de verspilling en in een geloof onze tijd opnieuw te kunnen vormgeven en dat technologie ons daarbij kan helpen. Door te kiezen voor een digitale print techniek kan op bestelling geleverd worden, waardoor er niet teveel aan stof geproduceerd hoeft te worden. Daarmee draagt het werk van Autre Choix bij aan de duurzaamheidgedachte. Meet & Matter Het werk van Autre Choix maakt deel uit van de groepstentoonstelling 'Meet & Matter' van nieuw Nederlands ontwerptalent geselecteerd door Tuttobene. In deze tentoonstelling staat het ontmoeten van de persoon achter een product centraal als onderdeel van het ontstaan van een band met dat product. Over Autre Choix / Irene van Ophoven Irene van Ophoven (1975) werkt onder de naam Autre Choix, wat een andere keuze betekent en staat voor een verrassende manier van kijken naar nieuwe trends en lifestyle. Irene ontwikkelt stylingconcepten voor interieur, events, visual merchandise en productcollecties als vertaalslag van actuele trends en visuele merkidentiteit. Voor klanten maakt zij onder andere trendanalyses, communicatieplannen voor productintroductie, stylingconcepten voor merkpresentaties en voorstellen voor productcollecties en assortimentsuitbreiding. Daarnaast ontwerpt Irene dessins voor interieurtextiel die zij nu voor het eerst aan een internationaal publiek toont in Milaan. Afgelopen jaar deed Autre Choix al meerdere keren aan verschillende exposities mee. De collectie Sleeping Hare was onderdeel van een tentoonstelling op de Dutch Design Week Eindhoven, die Organisation in Design (OiD) samenstelde. En ook bij de Toonkamer in Utrecht is werk van haar te zien. Irene van Ophoven woont en werkt in Rotterdam en studeerde in 2011 cum laude af aan de Artemis Styling Academie. Rotterdam, March 3th 2014 At the exhibition by Tuttobene on the Salone Internationale del Mobile, Autre Choix presents a new collection of interior textiles with a futuristic theme. For Autre Choix, the styling- and design agency of Irene van Ophoven, Milan is the next logical step following the Dutch Design Week. The collection of textiles presented at the exhibiton of Tuttobene in Milan is named 'Time Travel' and is inspired by abstract and atmospheric images of acceleration and technology. The large graphic surface designs make the collection fit for interiors with high ceilings. The designs are printed digitally on curtain and upholstery fabrics. The interior textiles are also suitable for the project market. Space-age homefashion Autre Choix builds a total experience by translating trends, which often results in the creation of surfaces designs. With this collection Time Travel, Autre Choix portrays a trend of a new sort of space-age. We are searching for more space: in undiscovered terrains, in use of natural energy resources, away from overconsumption and in a strong believe we can reshape our time and that technology can assist in this quest. By choosing for digital printing technique, orders can be produced on demand. This limits the fabric used to the actual required quantity. In this way the work of Autre Choix responds to current sustainability issues. Meet & Matter The work of Autre Choix is part of the group-exhibition 'Meet & Matter' which presents new Dutch design talent and is curated by Tuttobene. The central theme in this exhibition is get to know the person behind the product as an integral part of the devolopment of a relationship with the product. About Autre Choix / Irene van Ophoven Irene van Ophoven (1975) works under the name Autre Choix, which stands for an alternative choice and a surprising way of looking at new trends and lifestyle. Irene develops styling concepts for interior, events, visual merchandise and product collections as a translation of contemporary trends and visual brand identity. For customers she analyses trends, develops ideas for product introductions or styling concepts for brand presentation and does suggestions for product collections and extensions in product selections. Besides this, Irene makes surface designs for interior textiles that she now shows for the first time to an international audience in Milan. Last year Autre Choix already took part at several exhibitions in the Netherlands. The collection 'Sleeping Hare' was part of an exhibition at the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, which was curated by Organisation in Designs (OiD).
