1 Het project en de doelstellingen: Wit.h heeft al heel wat ervaring met sociaal artistieke projecten als deze. De Erasmus studenten daarentegen hebben elk een andere achtergrond en voor sommige onder hen was dit project de eerste kans om samen te werken met mensen met een verstandelijke beperking. Dit is een erg boeiend leerproces voor de beide partijen. Dit project richt zich vooral het empoweren van de artiesten met een verstandelijke handicap. De personen hebben op deze manier de kans om zichzelf creatief uit te drukken en te vormen. Via dit project hopen zij mensen met een verstandelijke beperking meer te betrekken in sociale relaties. Via dit project en het eindresultaat, de tentoonstelling, Wit.h en de studenten hopen meer bewustzijn te wekken over de mobiliteit van mensen met een verstandelijke beperking. Ook willen zij het gesprek openen over de obstakels dat personen met een handicap kunnen ondervinden, wat mobiliteit betreft, in hun dagelijks leven. (ENG) The project and the goals: Wit.h has had a lot of social- artistic projects like this, so they have al lot of experience on this area. The Erasmus student on the other hand, come all from different kind of backgrounds and to some of them, this is the first experience they have with working together with people with a intellectual disability. This is a nice learning process for

2 both. This project is all about empowering the artist with a intellectual disability. These persons get a chance to express their self artistically and to develop themselves. In this way they will be more involved and able to participate in social relations. Through this project and its end result, the exhibition, Wit.h and the students want to raise awareness for people with disabilities and their mobility. They also want to increase the knowledge and communication about the situation of people with a intellectual disability and the obstacles that they encounter in their everyday life. (NL) Thema en proces: Het idee rond het thema "Made in " groeide doorheen het project. De eerste weken draaiden vooral rond het ervaren, het samen werken en zoeken naar een manier om te communiceren zonder gemeenschappelijke taal. Maar niet enkel dat, ook werd er nagedacht en uitgeprobeerd over het werken met mobiles. Wat is een mobile? Hoe bereiken we evenwicht? Hoe brengen we beweging in onze werken? Welke materialen kunnen we gebruiken?... Tijdens deze weken bekwam de groep reeds erg boeiende resultaten.

3 Na de try-out weken, startte de groep met nadenken over de tentoonstelling zelf en wat ze precies willen bereiken. Dat is ook het moment waarop alle stukjes van de puzzel op hun plaats kwamen. Het idee "Made in " werd geboren. Vanaf dan werkte de groep met groot enthousiasme naar het eind product toe. Ze kunnen haast niet meer wachten hun resultaten van 8 weken werken te tonen aan het publiek. Ze hopen jullie allen te mogen verrassen met hun mobiles! (ENG) Something more about the theme and the process: The idea of the theme "Made in " has grown during the process. The first weeks, it was all about experiencing, working together and finding a way to communicate without common language. But also; What is a mobile? What do we have to think about? How can we reach a balance? How do we put movement into our works? What materials can

4 we use? And so on There were already some really nice mobiles made during this weeks. Here you can see some of our results.

6 After the trying out weeks, the group started to think more about the exhibition itself and what they want to achieve. That s when all the pieces of the puzzles came together and the idea of the theme "Made in " was invented. From then on the group has been working towards the exhibition with great passion. The group can t wait to show the final results to the audience. They hope to surprise all of you with their mobiles! (NL) De groep: De kunstenaars die meewerken aan dit project zijn mensen met een verstandelijke beperking. Zij hebben heel wat ervaring met creatief en artistiek werk. Hendrik is een kunstenaar uit de Zandberg Hij heeft al heel wat projecten op zijn naam.jeroen is eveneens een kunstenaar uit de Zandberg. Ook Arnaud werkt in de Zandberg. Hij is

7 ook een danser. Pieter is de enige kunstenaar van de Beelderij. The group: The artist who are working together with the students, are people with a intellectual disability. They have been working artistically for a long time already. Hendrik is a artist from Zandberg

11 (NL) De Erasmus studenten volgen het SPACE- programma aan KATHO-IPSOC. Dit staat voor Social Pedagogical Artistic and Creativity Exploration. Het is een 5 maand durende bachelor opleiding voor internationale en Vlaamse studenten. Het programma focust zich op het gebruik van kunst en creativiteit in sociaal werk. Het programma bestaat uit een mix van theorie, praktijk, individueel werk en groepswerk. Enkele van de doelstelling van de opleiding zijn: Inzichten verzamelen in theorie en methoden die gebruikt kunnen worden in het werkveld. De competentie ontwikkelen om op een professionele kritisch manier te kijken naar kunst en creativiteit met het oog op sociaal werk en verschillende doelgroepen. Reflecteren, zowel in groep als indivudueel, over thema s die zich richten op sociaal artistiek werk. The Erasmus students are following the SPACE-program at KATHO-IPSOC. It s a Social Pedagogical Artistic and Creativity Exploration program. This is a 5 months during bachelor course for international and Flemish students on art and creativity in the social sector. The program is a mix of theory and practice class work and individual work. The goals for the students are: Gaining insight into theory and methods concerning art and creativity in reaction with the professional social-pedagogical work. Developing competences for professional critical reflection on creative and artistic pedagogical approaches to a variety of target groups. Experiencing project work, commissioned by a professional social-pedagogical organization in a international and culturally diverse group. Reflecting individually and in group on current themes focusing on art and creativity in relation to the professional social-pedagogical work field.

12 (NL) Miriam en Carmen zijn 2 Spaanse studenten die Social Eductation volgen in Granada. Erika is een Hongaarse studente. Zij studeert Social work in Szeksz rd. Egle en Justina zijn Lithouwse studenten, zij studeren aan een verschillende universiteit en volgen een andere opleiding. Egle studeerd Sociaal Work in Klaipeda. Justina studeert Special Pedagogy- Speech and language therapy in Siauliai. Jelbrich en Lisa zijn 2 Vlaamse studenten. Zij studeren Orthopedagogie aan KATHO-IPSOC. Tenslotte is er een Finse studente, Ann-Mari. In Helsinki studeert zij Social Services met een focus op creatieve technieken. Ann-Mari is a Finish student from Helsinki. There she studies social services with a focus on creative functions.
