Als je een onderdeel van een opgave niet kunt maken, ga dan toch door met de volgende onderdelen. Je mag daarbij de in eerdere onderdelen verschafte informatie gebruiken. De (grafische) rekenmachine mag gebruikt worden bij het tentamen. De rekenmachine kan gebruikt worden om numerieke berekeningen uit te voeren. De rekenmachine kan echter NIET gebruikt worden om argumenten te geven voor verkregen oplossingen. Opgave 1 Laat A en B twee willekeurige gebeurtenissen zijn met > 0. a) Geef de definitie van P(A B). b) Laat met behulp van de definitie zien dat P(A B) 1 P(A B). Geef bij de afleiding duidelijk aan welke gebeurtenissen je onderscheidt en welke eigenschappen van de functie P je gebruikt! 2 Opgave 2 Op Trinity College hebben studenten administratienummers die bestaan uit zes cijfers, waarbij elk cijfer een 1, 2 of 3 is. Elk mogelijk administratienummer wordt maximaal één keer gebruikt (Trinity College is een exclusieve universiteit met een beperkt aantal studenten) en alle administratienummers hebben een gelijke kans om gebruikt te worden. We selecteren op volstrekt willekeurige wijze één student. a) Bereken de kans dat de som van de cijfers van het administratienummer van deze student minstens 15 bedraagt. b) Bereken de kans dat het administratienummer van deze student precies drie maal het cijfer 2 bevat. c) Bereken de kans dat het eerste cijfer van het administratienummer van deze student het cijfer 1 is. Bereken deze kans nogmaals als bovendien gegeven is dat het administratienummer precies drie maal het cijfer 2 bevat. Opgave 3 Van drie onafhankelijke gebeurtenissen A, B en C bij een zeker toevalsexperiment is gegeven dat P(A B C) 0.9, 0.2 en P(C) 0.3. Bereken P(A). Opgave 4 Een discrete stochast X neemt alleen de waarden 1, 2, 3, 4,... aan (dus de natuurlijke getallen). Zijn kansdichtheidsfunctie (pdf) f wordt gegeven door f(x) c( 2 5 )x voor alle x IN, waarbij c een reële constante is. a) Bereken c. b) Bereken de kans dat X een even waarde aanneemt.

If you can t solve an item of some exercise, continue with the next items. It is allowed to use the information that you have obtained before. The graphical calculator can be used during the midterm. However, the graphical calculator can be used only for numerical calculations. It can NOT be used to provide arguments for the solutions obtained. Exercise 1 Let A and B be any events with > 0. a) Provide the definition of P(A B). b) Show, by using the definition, that P(A B) 1 P(A B). Indicate clearly in the proof which events you use and which properties of the function P you use! Exercise 2 At Trinity College students have administration numbers consisting of six digits, where each digit is a 1, 2 or 3. Every possible administration number is used at most once (Trinity College is an exclusive university with a restricted number of students) and all possible administration numbers are equally likely to be used. We arbitrarily select one student from Trinity College. a) Determine the probability that the sum of the digits of the administration number of this student is at least 15. b) Determine the probability that the administration number of this student contains precisely three times the digit 2. c) Determine the probability that the first digit of the administration number of this student equals 1. Determine this probability once again, if moreover it is given that the administration number contains precisely three times the digit 2.
