Vervroegde sluiting 24 december Hierbij berichten wij u dat de faculteit CiTG op 24 december om 15:30 uur gesloten zal worden. Faculty to close early on 24 December Hereby we announce that on December 24th the faculty of CEG will close at 15.30h. Faculteit CiTG gesloten Het complex CiTG is van donderdag 25 december 2008 tot en met zondag 4 januari 2009 in verband met de feestdagen gesloten. Faculty CEG closed The complex CEG is closed from Thursday December 25th 2008 until Sunday January 4th 2009 due to Christmas Holiday and New Years Celebrations.

2 Mededeling van het International Office van CiTG Het international office is tijdens de kerstperiode vanaf maandag 22 december tot en met 4 januari gesloten. Vanaf 5 januari zijn wij ook in het nieuwe jaar weer beschikbaar voor stages, masterproject en alle international activiteiten. Vanaf 1 januari 2009 zijn wij niet meer op woensdag open. Onze openingstijden zijn dan: Maandag Dinsdag Woensdag Gesloten Donderdag Vrijdag Announcement from the International Office of CEG During the Christmas period the International Office of CEG will be closed from December 22 until January From January 5 we will again be opened for all internships, masterporject and all international activities. From 1 January the International Office will not be opened anymore on Wednesday. Our opening times will be: Monday Tuesday Wednesday Closed Thursday Friday Tentamen doen? NU aanmelden! Als je tentamen wilt doen, moet je je op tijd aanmelden. AANMELDEN KAN TOT UITERLIJK 2 WEKEN VOOR HET TENTAMEN. Check de tentamendata! Controleer of je aanmelding goed is gegaan door een printje via "overzicht" te maken. Let op: de regels van de examencommissie voor het aanmelden voor tentamens worden strikt gehandhaafd. Niet op tijd aanmelden betekent geen cijfer krijgen. Mocht je problemen hebben met het TAS-systeem of wil je er uitleg over hebben, neem dan contact op met het Servicepunt CiTG (Servicepuntcitg@tudelft.nl of tel ). Wacht hiermee niet tot de inschrijftermijn is verstreken, maar doe het nu. Je mag je tijdens je Bachelor en Master maar 1 keer vergeten aan te melden. Heb je het vergeten, haal dan een formulier "te laat aanmelden" op bij het Sercivepunt en volg de instructies. Examencommissie Civiele Techniek Want to do an exam? Register NOW! If you want to do an exam you have to register in time. YOU CAN REGISTER AT THE LATEST 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE EXAM TAKES PLACE. Check the dates! You can control whether you have registered in the proper way by printing a copy of your registration. The rules of the Board of Examiners are strickly enforced. Not having registered in time, means no mark! Please contact the Servicedesk CiTG in case of problems (Servicepuntcitg@tudelft.nl or phone ). Don't wait till it is too late to register.

3 It is permitted to forget to register for an exam only once during your Bachelor and Master. If you did forget to register on time, pick up the form "what to do when you did not register on time" at the Servicedesk and follow the instructions. Board of Examiners Civil Engineering TRAINEESHIP CT4040 : ARRANGE IT ALL BEFORE YOU START!! The CE Traineeship Office (being the course manager for CT4040) tries to ensure an adequate scientific level of the traineeship positions offered as well as thorough arrangements for supervision during the practical experience and does its very best to minimize the risks for our student trainees regarding accidents and liability. To enable us to continue our performance, it is crucial that all students fulfill all the necessary paperwork prior to the start of their traineeship. Please read the CT4040 Course Manual carefully and make sure your file at the Traineeship Office is complete before you leave. If not, your traineeship is formally considered not to exist and we do not guarantee any ECTS credit points to be obtained from it. Only if all students cooperate, the Traineeship Office can maintain the above-average ranking of its performance in the Student Quality Monitor. Website: Room 2.73 (main building Civil Engineering and Geosciences) Last lecture series CT4300, CT5303 and CT5309 in February/March 2009 (Q3 2008/2009) From 2009/2010 two new courses (of 6EC and 5EC) will replace the three courses Introduction to Coastal Engineering (CT4300), Coastal Inlets and Tidal Basins (CT5303) and Coastal Morphology and Protection (CT5309). This means that in February/March 2009 the lectures of CT4300, CT5303 and CT5309 are scheduled for the last time. Students who would like to follow the lectures in the present form should therefore attend those in that period. In the academic year 2009/2010 it will still be possible to do the oral examination for CT4300, CT5303 and CT5309. For further information contact: ir. J. CT3000 BSc-eindwerk, periode /2009 Tot uiterlijk 23 januari 2009 kun je je inschrijven voor het BSc eindwerk, periode 3. Het inschrijfformulier is te vinden op Blackboard bij Course Documents. De startbijeenkomst is op 2 februari Toelatingseisen (uit Regels en richtlijnen examencommissie): Aan het eindwerk mag pas worden begonnen als de student met inachtneming van het bepaalde in lid 1 onderdelen met een totale omvang van 87 studiepunten uit het tweede en derde studiejaar heeft afgerond, en bezig is met het ontwerpproject 3. In afwijking hierop mag de student die nominaal studeert, met het eindwerk beginnen wanneer hij met inachtneming van het bepaalde in het eerste lid onderdelen met een totale omvang van 74 studiepunten heeft afgerond, en bezig is met het ontwerpproject 3. These projects will be done in groups of students from all the faculties. The project lasts for about 20 weeks and can be done next to the regular classes. Dutch and foreign students are invited to apply for one of these very interesting projects. The projects will start in February. You will also get 11 ects for this project just like with the masterproject. More information you can find below: TUD Design Challenge open for all Master students: Innovation projects starting Feb 2009 The TUD Design Challenge offers Master students of all faculties an opportunity to show how innovative they are. In Feb 2009, this challenging course will start again. We have collected six interesting assignments from different businesses, see The assignments range from sustainable technologies, to skating on plastic and even a strategic portfolio redesign. We are looking for students with a background in science, engineering, design or management. For most CiTG students, especially assignments 1, 3 and 4 may be interesting. 1. 5 Studenten gezocht voor masterproject in buitenland Wij zijn twee masterstudenten in de richting Hydraulic Engineering en zijn van plan om in het 4 e kwartaal van dit jaar een masterproject (CT4061) te gaan doen. De periode wanneer wij willen gaan duurt dus ongeveer 2 à 3 maanden vanaf half april. Wij zijn op zoek naar twee tot vier enthousiaste masterstudenten om onze groep compleet te maken. Wij willen een project in een ontwikkelingsland gaan doen. Als je nu instapt heb je nog alle kans om mee te beslissen over de locatie en het onderwerp van het project.
