GRAFISCH GRAPHIC DESIGN A graphic designer is creative, likes to draw, has a vivid imagination, can analyse, organise, inform en communicate, has an interest in language, literature, society and culture. The programme graphic designer is an interaction between different artistic and practical courses, including design, drawing, illustration, typography, photography, multimedia and digital techniques. De verschijningsvorm mens wordt onderzocht via figuurtekenen, anatomisch tekenen en anatomie, en portret- en figuurboetseren naar levend model. FOTOGRAFIE PHOTOGRAPHY The photographer s personality is all-important in Photography when studied as a main subject. The course approaches the medium of photography as a means of communication, as a (visual) language, the idea being that the student masters that language so as to achieve personal expression. This is done partly by learning to speak the language, i.e. taking one-off shots and series of photographs at different speeds: from short, fast experiments to lengthy studies. The course covers the various major themes (portraiture, still life, landscape, etc.) with technique integral to the desired endresult. Man, object and space are the three cornerstones of the course. Alles vertrekt vanuit de atelierwerking: intensief foto s maken en interpreteren, beelden bewerken, presenteren en in omloop brengen is je hoofdtaak binnen de academie. Daarnaast bezoeken we tentoonstellingen, beeldarchieven, en instituten. Als student kom je in contact met relevante en inspirerende fotografen uit binnen, -en buitenland. Studiebezoeken, beurzen, tentoonstellingen, evenementen en (internationale) gastdocenten met praktijkervaring maken deze opleiding zeer dynamisch. FINE ARTS: IN SITU³ In Situ³ is a multi-medial study program, which approaches 2 principles: a specific situation (a theme or an assignment) and free choices and projects. The students/ young artists investigate the visual, social and artistic context and execute, if possible, via divers materials and/or techniques their ideas/ concepts. The overall view is important. In In Situ³-atelier ontvouwen en bediscussiëren studenten, samen met hun docenten, elk een persoonlijk plan, verhaal of waarheid. VRIJE KUNSTEN FINE ARTS: PRINTMAKING In order to create graphic art, it is necessary to master a strong technical background. In the Printmaking department you will acquire all skills of the printmaking techniques, such as intaglio, block printing, lithography and silkscreen. By combining these techniques with creativity, you will be able to express your ideas in a more exciting and innovative way. Contemporary artists are using printmaking more frequently, sometimes in combination with other media. Our students are using international contacts and exchange programmes to build a network, which will be useful to them. Besides a career as an independent artist, graduates can find work as an art teacher (with a supplementary course), as an illustrator, as a graphic designer or in a job, which is creative by nature. VRIJE GRAFIEK FINE ARTS PRINTMAKING VRIJE KUNSTEN: VRIJE GRAFIEK Om grafische kunst te creëren is een degelijke technische basiskennis noodzakelijk. Vrije Grafiek reikt je alle aspecten van de druktechnieken (diepdruk, steendruk, hoogdruk en zeefdruk) aan. Door een grafische taal te koppelen aan jouw eigen creativiteit ontwikkel je een persoonlijke opwindende en vernieuwende artistieke uitingsvorm. Onze studenten maken dankbaar gebruik van de internationale contacten en uitwisselingen waardoor ze een netwerk opbouwen dat hen in de toekomst van nut zal zijn. Naast een volledig zelfstandige artistieke loopbaan kan je terecht als lesgever (indien je een bijkomende pedagogische cursus volgt) of in de grafische sector als illustrator of artistiek ontwerper. SPECIFIEKE Je kan je inschrijven indien je een masterdiploma in de beeldende kunsten of een academisch bachelordiploma hebt en je je inschrijft voor een masteropleiding. Alle colleges worden gegeven op de campus van de Academie in de avonduren (vanaf 16u) op maandag, dinsdag en donderdag. Ook als werkstudent kan je de lessen dus zonder al te veel problemen volgen. 4. Stage. De kennismaking met de praktijk gebeurt geleidelijk, zodat de praktijkschok vermeden wordt (observatiestage, participatiestage, doestage, stage schoolgebeuren). LERARENOPLEIDING BEELDENDE KUNSTEN LERAAR WORDEN? Dan is de specifieke lerarenopleiding (SLO) aansluitend bij de master beeldende kunsten wellicht iets voor jou. De specifieke lerarenopleiding sluit in principe aan op je basisopleiding, maar het interessante is, dat je al opleidingsonderdelen van de SLO kan volgen, gelijktijdig met je masteropleiding. Mooi meegenomen, toch? De specifieke lerarenopleiding omvat 60 studiepunten, gespreid over een theoriedeel en een praktijkdeel van elk 30 studiepunten. De opleiding wordt bekrachtigd met het diploma van leraar en je onderwijsbevoegdheid wordt bepaald door je masteropleiding. DE STERKE PUNTEN OP EEN RIJTJE 1. Aandacht voor alle basiscompetenties. De basiscompetenties zoals decretaal bepaald, vormen het uitgangspunt voor de opleiding. bv. taal- en mediapraktijk, stage schoolgebeuren etc. 2. Flexibiliteit. Je kan je opleiding combineren met je studie of werk: de lessen worden immers vooral s avonds gegeven. Ben je ingeschreven voor een masteropleiding, dan kan je al starten met de opleiding. 3. Integratie van theorie en praktijk. Er is een weloverwogen overgang van theoretische naar praktijkgerichte opleidingsonderdelen en omgekeerd. Opdrachten i.v.m. stages worden begeleid door en besproken met vakmentoren, lectoren en stagebegeleiders, zodat theorie en praktijk elkaar organisch aanvullen. 5. Brede voorbereiding op de praktijk.
