Ook als er sprake is van een vervolg in het heden, mag je alleen de present perfect toepassen. Zoals bij de zin: She has opened the shop. Ze heeft de winkel geopend en die is dus nu nog steeds open. Dus wat er in het verleden gebeurd is, heeft een vervolg in de tegenwoordige tijd. Ofwel: Je gebruikt de present perfect (have/has + stam + -ed) in twee situaties: 1 Als er iets in de verleden tijd gebeurd is en het is nog niet afgelopen. Let op de woorden zoals since, for, always, never, ever. 2 Als er iets in de verleden tijd gebeurd is en dat heeft nu nog een vervolg.
