1 Automatische opname inrichting Collegezaal Onderstaande beschrijving legt uit hoe de automatische opname inrichting in de Collegezaal voor media recording is ingericht bij de School of Business and Economics (SBE) van de Universiteit Maastricht. Hierbij wordt uitgelegd waarom hiervoor is gekozen. Om ervoor te zorgen dat er mediaregistratie voor bijvoorbeeld online lectures kan plaatsvinden binnen de SBE is er gekozen voor een vol automatische inrichting, omdat hierbij geen ondersteunend personeel nodig is gedurende de opnamen. Er is niet gekozen om een medewerker/student met een zogenoemde roadkit op pad te sturen en te laten opnemen en publiceren. Daarnaast, met name de college zaal, zijn de zalen vrij lastig te voorzien van losse infrastructuur door de opbouw van deze zalen en de al aanwezige zaalbesturingsapparatuur en bijbehorende infrastructuur. De zalen zijn een aantal jaren geleden geupgrade naar een touchscreen (AMX) bestuurd systeem, dat alles aanstuurt van de verlichting tot en met het aanzetten van de presentatie apparatuur. 2 De opname apparatuur, in het geval van SBE is er voor Mediasite gekozen, is hieraan toegevoegd. Om echter goede opnames te kunnen maken is ook de uitvoer resolutie gewijzigd d.m.v een (video) Scaler welke ervoor zorgt dat alle aangesloten visuele apparaten dezelfde uitvoer resolutie aanleveren aan de beamer en de Media Recorder. Om ervoor te zorgen dat de gebruiker redelijk in beeld blijft is er een widescreen hoge resolutie camera in het midden van de zaal geplaatst die standaard in een wide-screen mode staat maar die door de gebruiker naar wens ook in een close-up mode kan worden gezet (gericht op het spreekgestoelte, met de knop Close Up). We hebben gekozen voor alleen twee camera instellingen om er op die manier voor te zorgen dat er een optimaal beeld verkregen wordt. 3 Om ervoor te zorgen dat de spreker ziet welk camerabeeld actief is en of hij daadwerkelijk nog in beeld is, bevindt zich onder de camera een groot LCD beeldscherm dat het gekozen camerabeeld tijdens de opname laat zien. Het voordeel van dit LCD scherm is tevens dat de bewegelijke spreker eenvoudig vanuit zijn ooghoeken ziet wanneer hij uit beeld loopt Na wat proef opnamen tijdens de eerste Pilot zijn we tot de conclusie gekomen dat de standaard verlichting tijdens een presentatie niet afdoende was, waardoor de spreker niet goed zichtbaar was en soms zelfs helemaal niet. In het vervolgtraject is gekozen om aan de camera-instellingen ook een zestal theaterspots te koppelen die de spreker nu in het gewenste verlichtingsniveau uitlicht. 4 optimale verlichtingsniveau is, omdat dit door de sprekers als onprettig werd ervaren doordat men geen goed zichtcontact had met de toeschouwers in de zaal. Voor de spreker is het zo dat door de IT-helpdesk en de ruimtenroosteraars zijn opname sessie vóóraf wordt ingepland op de Mediasite server. De server stuurt automatisch de recorder de informatie dat op dag X, tijd Y en tijdsduur Z de recorder klaar staat voor een opname op de gewenste recorder. Het enige wat de spreker moet doen om de opname daadwerkelijk te starten, is op het AMX touchscreen de recording knop in te drukken op het sprekersgestoelte en vervolgens de opname te starten zie bijlage 2. auteur: Vluggen W (EFB) Pagina 4 van 20 datum:

5 Op het moment dat de Recording knop geactiveerd wordt zal het zaalbesturingssysteem de zaal automatisch in gereedheid brengen voor opname. M.a.w. de zonwering gaat dicht, de verlichting wordt ingesteld in de presentatiemode met opname (Theater spots), de beamer wordt opgestart en het projectiescherm komt naar beneden. Als het systeem hiermee klaar is, zullen een aantal functies voor de duur van de opname geblokkeerd blijven zodat de ideale opnamesituatie in stand gehouden kan worden. Wel is het nog steeds mogelijk om tijdens een opname een andere (video)bron te kiezen b.v. PC, Laptop of Visualizer (digitale overhead projector). Zoals eerder vermeld zal de (video) Scaler ervoor zorgen dat de Mediasite recorder steeds hetzelfde videosignaal binnenkrijgt. De gebruiker heeft ook de mogelijkheid om een pauze in te lassen [Knop Pause Rec(ording)]. Bij het verdergaan is een druk op de Rec(ording) knop weer voldoende om door te gaan met de opname. 8 The SBE offers the user an integrated system for the benefit of presentations. In principle, this system is self-supporting. If there is nevertheless a technical problem, please contact Acohelp. You can contact Acohelp by phone tel: , room number B3.18 TS53. The equipment knows two adjusted values for the Lecture Hall/Collegezaal, large Room up to 500 guests and small Room up to 180 guests. By choosing one of these, the adjustment of the sound, lights and the curtains will set automatically. Nevertheless the user can always adjust the values of the sound and lights as he/she wish for. 11 The main menu appears now. By selecting a device for example the computer, the Projector is starting up automatically. You have to wait for 1 minute. After one minute the Projector is ready to be used. Turning off the Projection and the AMX System. 13 You now returned to the initial layout of the AMX menu. You can now turn off the AMX touch panel. Press the button on the bottom of this screen. Controlling and using lights. For controlling the light, you can choose between five different standard settings: On-Pre1-Pre2-Pre3 and OFF. The user can always adjust the values of the lights as he/she wishes. 14 Press Light to open the control of lights. In this picture you can see that the light is selected at option ON. This is the result for the standard option On. 16 Bijlage 2: User manual Mediasite recording To start a Mediasite recording in the Lecture Hall (A-1.01) or Auditorium (H0.01) of building Ts53, please make sure that you have a confirmation from Acohelp that you lecture is scheduled on the Mediasite recorder. 17 To start the recording session: press the Recording button on the touch screen. If the button is still grey, the recorder is still starting up, please wait until it becomes red. You will be asked to agree with the recording conditions. 18 This is the main screen of the recorder controls, you may notice that some functions are disabled (Grey) e.g. these are pre programmed for the best result and cannot be changed. It is still possible to select another input source for example the computer, laptop, Visualizer etc. If you want to return to the recorder controls please press the Recording button again. You will also see that the Flatpanel TV in the middle of the first seating row will show the camera. On this panel you can check if you are still in the picture When are ready to start the recording please press the Rec button. Please note that you will have to start the recording at the scheduled time (e.g. 8:30 am) or later, otherwise it is possible that the recording will fail because the session was not loaded. auteur: Vluggen W (EFB) Pagina 18 van 20 datum:

20 When you are finished with your recording session (you have pressed the Stop Rec button) Please shut down the recorder. By pressing the Shut down button. Now you can shut down the AMX room control system or continue your presentation without a recording. When you have pressed the Shut down button you will be asked for a confirmation press Yes if you want to shutdown.
