7 Aanleiding Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT, Blockchain) wordt gezien als de grootste technologische innovatie sinds het internet en wordt aangemerkt als disruptief. Als de voortekenen ons niet bedriegen zal de impact van DLT radicaal zijn. Zie bijvoorbeeld EY Global Blockchain Benchmarking Study 2017, KPMG Blockchain Maturity Model 2018, PWC 2018 Global Blockchain Survey, etc. De Kennisgroep is van mening dat het voor de ontwikkelrichting van de financiële functie van belang is, dat inzicht gegeven wordt in de samenhang tussen actuele technologische innovaties en het werkveld van de financiële functie. 7

8 Centrale thematiek Gezien het disruptieve karakter van DLT zal dit onderzoek zich richten op de vraag: Op welke wijze wordt het assurance proces door de auditor beïnvloed door de toepassing van Distributed Ledger (Technology) tussen organisaties? Welke factoren spelen hierbij een rol en wat betekent dit voor de interne beheersing? 8
