Pakketinhoud Vooraf Adam Muurplaatje Met de Adam is het mogelijk de kamertemperatuur te regelen zonder dat hiervoor de huidige thermostaat moet worden gebruikt, een schema in te stellen en wordt het stookgedrag via grafieken inzichtelijk gemaakt. Daarnaast leest de Adam de cv-ketel uit, zodat de installateur jouw verwarmingsinstallatie op afstand kan monitoren. Symbolen Let op, waarschuwing! Tip Deze stap moet je uitvoeren USB adapter Adapterkabel ID Het ID is de 8-letterige code op de sticker op de achterkant van de Adam. Wifi-naam De wifi-naam begint met smile_ en staat op de sticker op de achterkant van de Adam. ID: bcdfghjk wifi: smile_abcdef ID Wifi-naam 4 Adam
Voorzorg en veiligheid We adviseren je om de Adam door een professionele ketelinstallateur te laten installeren. De bestaande cv-draden, die de cv-ketel met de thermostaat verbinden, moeten op de ketel zijn aangesloten op de OpenThermaansluiting. Je vindt dit terug in de handleiding van de cv-ketel. De cv-draden die de cv-ketel met de thermostaat verbinden, mogen niet langer zijn dan 50 meter en geen grotere weerstand dan 5 Ohm per draad hebben. Als dit wel het geval is, adviseren wij de draden te laten vervangen. Haal de spanning van de cv-ketel voordat je verder gaat. Compatibiliteit OpenTherm Adam communiceert met het verwarmingssysteem via het OpenTherm protocol.dat houdt in dat zowel de thermostaat als ketel beiden OpenTherm moeten ondersteunen. Je vindt dit terug in de handleiding van de cv-ketel en thermostaat. Het is ook te herkennen aan het OpenTherm logo. Aan/uit Adam ondersteunt ook aan/uit cv-ketels. Het is nodig om hiervoor de zonethermostaat Lisa te gebruiken om een kamertemperatuur te ontvangen. Verder moet er in Instellingen> Verwarmingssysteem > Verwarmen de aanvoertemperatuur ingesteld worden. Aan/uit thermostaten worden niet ondersteunt. NL Controleer vooraf de aanwezigheid en kwaliteit van de wifi-verbinding en de beschikbaarheid van een vrij stopcontact bij de cv-ketel. Zorg ervoor dat je de volgende dingen bij de hand hebt: - ID van de Adam - Wifinaam van de Adam - Wifi-wachtwoord van het internet Adam 5
Installatie 1. Verbind met het internet Verbind de Adam met het internet bij de cv-ketel. Zo weet je zeker dat er genoeg wifi-bereik is. Sluit de adapterkabel aan op de USB adapter en de Adam. Steek de stekker in het stopcontact. Wacht tot de Adam is opgestart: het bovenste lampje en middelste lampje knipperen langzaam. Kies een van de volgende opties om de Adam met het internet te verbinden. Optie a: Netwerkkabel Sluit een netwerkkabel aan tussen de router en de Adam. Optie b: Wifi via WPS Wifi via WPS wordt alleen ondersteund via een speciale WPS-knop op de router. Druk 2 seconden op de zwarte knop op de Adam. Wacht tot het bovenste lampje snel en regelmatig blijft knipperen. Activeer wifi via WPS op de wifi-router om te verbinden met het wifi-netwerk. Als de Adam na 2 minuten nog geen verbinding heeft gemaakt met een wifi-netwerk, wordt de Adam opnieuw in aanmeldmodus gezet. Optie c: Wifi via Android app De app begeleidt je tijdens het aansluiten van de Adam op het wifi-netwerk. Plugwise Connect 6 Adam
NL Optie d: Wifi via browser Verbind je smartphone of tablet met het wifi-netwerk van de Adam dat begint met smile_. Voer als wachtwoord het ID in. Ga in de webbrowser van je smartphone of tablet naar http://setup.now of naar 192.168.40.40. Omdat je verbonden bent met het netwerk van de Adam zal de pagina Instellingen > Netwerk instellingen automatisch openen. Druk op Scan en selecteer je eigen wifi-netwerk. Voer het wachtwoord van je eigen wifi-netwerk in en sla de instellingen op. Netwerkverbinding controleren Gebruik hiervoor een apparaat dat is verbonden met het netwerk waarmee ook de Adam is verbonden. Ga naar connect.plugwise.net en log in met je ID. De webpagina van de Adam opent. Niet gelukt via wifi? Druk de zwarte knop op de Adam voor 5 seconden in: het middelste lampje knippert 5 keer, het bovenste lampje gaat vervolgens snel knipperen. De netwerkinstellingen worden gewist. Wacht tot de Adam weer is opgestart en probeer opnieuw met het wifi-netwerk te verbinden. Zorg ervoor dat je je smartphone of tablet weer verbindt met het wifi-netwerk waar je zojuist de Adam mee hebt verbonden. Adam 7
2. Aansluiten op de cv-ketel Installatie met thermostaat Gebruik de handleiding van de ketel voor informatie over de ketelaansluiting. Haal de spanning van de cv-ketel en van de Adam. 20,5 Installatie met slimme thermostaat Maak bij de cv-ketel de draad tussen de cv-ketel en thermostaat los en plaats hiervoor in de plaats de installatiekabel voor de cv-ketel. Sluit de draden die naar de ketel lopen aan op de Adam bij het icoon van het vlammetje. Sluit de draden die naar de thermostaat lopen aan op de Adam bij het thermostaat-icoon. Hiervoor maak je gebruik van de bestaande draden. 20,5 Sommige slimme thermostaten hebben een gateway die met de ketel verbonden is. Plaats in dat geval de Adam tussen de gateway van de thermostaat en de ketel in. Bepaal de positie van de Adam bij de cv-ketel en monteer het bevestigingsplaatje van de Adam. Klik de Adam op het bevestigingsplaatje. Zet de spanning terug op de cv-ketel. Steek de stekker van de Adam weer in het stopcontact en wacht tot deze is opgestart. 8 Adam
3. De Adam gebruiken NL Zorg er voor dat je in de volgende situaties bent verbonden met hetzelfde netwerk als waarmee ook de Adam is verbonden: - Adam toevoegen aan de app - De webpagina gebruiken Webpagina Ga naar connect.plugwise.net Log in met je ID. Vragen Waarom blijft de ketel stoken? Controleer of de kabel van Adam naar de ketel toe op de OpenTherm aansluiting van de ketel is aangesloten. Waarom moduleert de ketel niet? Controleer of de ketel geschikt is voor Opentherm ketelaansturing. Kan ik de temperatuur via Adam instellen? Om de temperatuur in huis in te stellen maakt Adam gebruik van de zogenaamde override functionaliteit in het OpenTherm-protocol. Adam stuurt de gewenste temperatuur naar de thermostaat. Het is vervolgens aan de thermostaat iets met deze instelling te doen. Vervolgens bepaalt de regeling van de thermostaat of de ketel aan moet slaan om het huis op de juiste temperatuur te krijgen. Wil je weten of jouw thermostaat temperatuurinstellingen van Adam accepteert? Ga naar ons thermostaatoverzicht op onze website. Blijft Adam werken als het internet wegvalt? De verwarming blijft gewoon werken als het internet wegvalt. Je kunt nu alleen niet de app gebruiken om de temperatuur in te stellen. De webpagina van Adam kun je nu alleen nog bereiken via het IP-adres van Adam binnen je eigen netwerk. Wil je de temperatuur aanpassen? Dat kan gewoon via de thermostaat aan de muur. Welke ketelinstellingen kan ik instellen via Adam? Adam kan, als de ketel dit ondersteunt, een aantal temperatuurinstellingen op de ketel instellen: - de maximale aanvoertemperatuur - de maximale tapwatertemperatuur - de comfortstand Waarom kan ik de webpagina van Adam niet openen? Ga naar https://connect.plugwise.net en log in met het ID van Adam. Het ID is de 8-letterige code op de sticker op de achterkant van Adam. Zorg ervoor dat het toestel waarop je de webpagina wilt openen, verbonden is met hetzelfde netwerk als Adam. Besides, the boiler gateway reads out the boiler so the central heating system can be monitored remotely by an installer. Symbols Warning, be aware! Precautions and safety We advice you to have your boiler gateway installed by the installer of your central heating system. The existing boiler wires that connect the boiler to the thermostat have to be connected to the OpenTherm connection of the boiler. You can find this information in the manual of your boiler. The boiler wires that connect the boiler to the thermostat should not be longer than 50 metres and must not have a greater resistance than 5 Ohm per wire. If this is the case however, we advise you to have the wires replaced. Compatibility OpenTherm Adam communicates with the heating system via the OpenTherm protocol. This means that both the thermostat and boiler must both support OpenTherm. You can find this in the manual of the boiler and thermostat. It can also be recognized by the OpenTherm logo. On/off Adam also supports on/off boilers. It is required to use the zone thermostat Lisa to receive a room temperature. In addition, the boiler temperature must be set in Settings> Heating system> Heating. On/off thermostats are not supported. EN Disconnect the boiler from the electricity before you continue. Check the availability and quality of the WiFi connection beforehand, also check if there is a free power outlet available near the boiler. Make sure you have the following points at hand: - ID of the Adam - Network name of the Adam - WiFi network password Adam 13
Installation 1. Connect to the internet Connect the adapter cable to the USB adapter and the Adam. Plug the adapter into the wall socket. Wait until the Adam has booted up: the upper light and middle light are blinking slowly. Do this closeby the boiler. This way you ensure the WiFi signal is strong enough. Choose one of the following options to connect the Adam with the internet. Option a: Internet via network cable Connect a network cable between the router and the Adam. Option b: WiFi via WPS WiFi via WPS is only supported via a special WPS button on the router. Press the black button on the Adam for 2 seconds. Wait until the upper light is blinking quickly and regularly. Enable WPS on the WiFi router to connect to WiFi. Look for the WPS logo. If after 2 minutes the Adam has not made a connection yet to your WiFi network, the Adam will switch back to access point mode. Option c: WiFi via Android app The Plugwise connect app will guide you connecting the Adam to the WiFi network. Plugwise Connect 14 Adam
EN Option d: Wifi via your browser Connect your smartphone or tablet with the WiFi network of the Adam, starting with smile_. Enter the ID as the password. Open the webbrowser on your smartphone or tablet and go to http://setup.now or to 192.168.40.40. Because you are connected to the network of the Adam, you will be redirected to the network page of the Adam Settings > Network. Press Scan and select your own WiFi network. Enter the password of your own WiFi network and save the settings. Check your network connection Use your smartphone or tablet that is connected to the same network as the Adam is connected to. Go to connect.plugwise.net Use your ID to log in. The webpage of the Adam will open. Having trouble via WiFi? Press the black button on the Adam for 5 seconds until the middle light has blinked 5 times and the upper light starts to blink rapidly. The network settings will be deleted. Wait until the Adam has booted up, then try to connect the Adam to your WiFi network again. Please make sure that you reconnect your smartphone or tablet to the WiFi network to which you just connected the Adam. Adam 15
2. Connect to the boiler Installation with thermostat 20,5 Installation with smart thermostat Consult the manual of the boiler for more information about the connector of the boiler. Unplug the boiler and the boiler gateway from the electrical network. Disconnect the thermostat wire between the boiler and the thermostat and replace it with the extra installation cable for the boiler. Connect the wires running to the boiler to the boiler gateway at the flame icon. Connect the wires running to the thermostat to the boiler gateway at the thermostat icon. You must use the existing wires to do this. 20,5 Some smart thermostats have a gateway that is connected to the boiler. For these installations place the boiler gateway between the gateway of the thermostat and the boiler. Determine the position of the boiler gateway by the boiler and fix the wall plate of the boiler gateway. Click the boiler gateway onto the wall plate. Plug in the boiler again. Plug the boiler gateway into the power outlet and wait until the boiler gateway has started up. 16 Adam

Questions Why does the boiler keep heating? Check that the Adam cable to the boiler is connected to the boiler s OpenTherm connection. Why does the boiler not modulate? Check whether the boiler is suitable for Opentherm boiler control. Can I set the temperature through Adam? To control the room temperature via Adam use is made of the so-called override functionality of the OpenTherm protocol. Adam sends the desired temperature setting to the thermostat. Then it is the thermostat s turn to do something with these settings. Next, the control of the thermostat determines whether or not the boiler should turn on to get the house to the right temperature. Do you want to know if your thermostat supports the temperature settings of Adam? Go to our thermostat overview on our website. Does Adam continue to work if the internet connection is lost? The boiler will continue to work if the internet connection is lost. Unfortunately, you can t use the app to set the temperature. The web page of Adam can only be reached via the IP-address of Adam within your own network. Do you want to change the temperature? You can use the thermostat on the wall. Which boiler settings can I set via Adam? Adam can, if the boiler supports this, set a number of temperature settings on the boiler: - the maximum supply temperature - the maximum DHW temperature - the comfort mode Why can t I open the web page of Adam?
