2.Werking van de Vlaamse Jeugdraad
Taak Officieel adviesorgaan van de Vlaamse Regering voor alles wat kinderen en jongeren aanbelangt. Advies op eigen initiatief of op verzoek van een Vlaams minister.
Missie Verzuchtingen van kinderen, jongeren en hun organisaties op de politieke agenda plaatsen. Beleid jeugdvriendelijker maken en zo houden!
Visie Jeugbeleid is breed beleid: het integreert verschillende beleidsdomeinen: cultuur, welzijn, ruimte, Kinderen en jongeren kunnen meepraten over uiteenlopende onderwerpen: school, werk, drugs, Kinderen zijn expert in het jong-zijn.
Participatie Extern: betrekken van individuele jongeren bij onze organisatie via AV², Klets!, Klets on tour Intern: via ons netwerk van jeugdraden (lokaal en provinciaal), jeugdwerkorganisaties,

GOALS 1) To get to know European youngsters better before going to Durban 2) To be better informed on the UN climate negotiations 3) To design strategies and actions for Durban 4) To support additional national activities as well as actions in Durban financially
Program October weekend Brussels Infosessions by experts (WWF, CDM Watch) Simulation UN Climate Negotiations 3 strategy groups: 1) Mitigation + KP 2) Adaptation + Green Climate Fund 3) Capacity Building
3 Strategy Groups 1) Before the weekend: - Vote for 3 priority topics - Facilitators write strategy paper 2) During the weekend: - Designing strategies and action plan for Durban 3) After the weekend: - Facilitators follow-up the strategies and action plans - Sharing the results with YOUNGO
Mitigation + KP 1) Joint open letter Chinese and European youth > Content: take the lead together/ keep global average temperatur rise below 1,5 C/ EU: unconditional KP CP2/ future: legally binding treaty for all major emitters > Original angle: 2011 = EU - China Year of Youth > Publication date: to be determined 2) 1,5 C > Goal: Influence negotiations in Durban on the setting of the rules for the 2013-2015 review. > Tools: 1,5 C ties + lobbying with concrete text proposals for the rules of the review process 3) KP CP2 > Goal: Push for a second commitment period > Tools: To be determined during next YOUNGO + Mitigation skype call
Green Climate Fund + Adaptation 1) Priorities > Equal emphasis on adaptation and mitigation in allocations from the Green Climate Fund > Transparency > Civil society participation in the Board of the fund 2) Creating awareness and understanding > Writing letters to newspapers > Organizing a creative action in Durban > Work together with NGOs with a strong voice (CAN, etc) > Writing a 1-page info document > Making a toolbox for youth (how to contact your delegation, the media, etc.)
