1 Schooljaar NIEUWSBRIEF 7 26 september 2014 INHOUD Beste ouders, Directie Personal Data Protection Act NSA lessen Frans Bibliotheek: Scholastic Book Club Vacature Tekenwedstrijd Belangrijke data BIJLAGE BIJ Consent form Personal Data Protection Act NSA lessen Frans Tekenwedstrijd Deze week heeft een aantal kinderen van groep 8 tijdens de assembly ons het een en ander verteld en laten zien over Hari Raya Haji. De kinderen hebben geleerd waarom en door wie dit feest wordt gevierd. Tevens hebben we met elkaar de verjaardagen van de kinderen en HSL-medewerkers die in de maand september jarig zijn, gevierd. Volgende week werken de leerlingen weer verder aan de diverse IPC-units en ook m.b.t. taal en rekenen wordt er doelgericht en gedifferentieerd geleerd. We hebben u eerder deze week op de hoogte gebracht dat er op vrijdag 26 september in Nederland een herdenkingsbijeenkomst van de familie Van Muijlwijk plaats gaat vinden ter nagedachtenis aan Emile, Vicky en hun dochter Adinda. Juf Jolinda heeft vrijdagochtend samen met de klasgenootjes van Adinda, groep 6b, een mooie Frangipane boom geplant op het schoolterrein. De kinderen hebben met elkaar een lied gezongen en ook zijn er zelfgemaakte gedichten voorgedragen. Bij deze boom hebben we ook een herinneringsplaquette geplaatst. Volgende week donderdag en vrijdag staan er twee inservice trainingsdagen op het programma voor het team van de HSL. Als team gaan we ons bezig houden met de

2 definitie van leren en ontwikkelingen op het gebied OGW en HGW. De kinderen zijn deze twee dagen vrij. Wij wensen u een fijn weekend. In line with the PDPA, we are seeking your consent to share your address, phone number(s) and/or home address ( Your Contact Details ) with other parents of HSL. This is amongst other reasons, very useful for the group parent representative to be able to communicate with other parents of the same group and for the parents themselves to be able to contact one another. To provide your consent to the sharing of your contact details, please fill out the attached form and return it to the Admin before Tuesday 7 October or scan and send it to adminhsl@hollandseschool.org We would like to send the student contact list with the Newsletter of Friday 10 October. Please bear in mind that if your consent form has not been returned, your contact details will not be in the list. 2

3 1. Frans - eerste jaar voor kinderen uit groep 7 en 8 90 minuten/week (dinsdag uur) Deze lessen zijn gebaseerd op het Belgische curriculum (voor het vijfde Leerjaar) Frans op de lagere school. Wij gebruiken Eventail Junior En Action (Uitgeverij Van In), een beproefde methode die recent nog werd vernieuwd. Wij werken met handboek en werkboek, liedjes-cd s en een CD-Rom. Alle aspecten van het taal-leren komen aan bod: lezen, spreken, luisteren en schrijven evenals grammatica en woordenschat. Er wordt wekelijks huiswerk meegegeven. Het is een pittige methode waardoor de kinderen op het eind van het schooljaar een goede basiskennis van het Frans zullen hebben. 2. Frans - tweede jaar voor kinderen uit groep 7 en 8 (lesdag wijziging) 90 minuten/week (maandag uur) Deze lessen zijn bedoeld voor de kinderen die vorig schooljaar de eerste cyclus gevolgd hebben van de cursus Eventail Junior En Action of voor kinderen met een evenwaardig niveau Frans. Wij gaan verder met de tweede cyclus van Eventail. Meer informatie vindt u in bijgevoegd document bij deze nieuwsbrief. Aanmelden kan via Joël Dekkers op nsa@hollandseschool.org Ook kinderen uit de groepen 5 en 6 kunnen deelnemen, gelieve dan rechtstreeks contact op te nemen met de leerkracht Frans via de Administratie. 3

The catalogues and order sheets are distributed to all students this week. Your child/children will be bringing them home and we urge you to look out for them in their school bag. To order, simply fill out your order sheet at the back of the flyer and return it to the class teacher Wednesday October 1 st 2014 latest. There are two methods of payment, cheque or credit card. Please ensure that cheques are made payable to Grolier International Inc. The orders will be delivered within 3-4 weeks and sent home with your child. 5 De Hollandse School Limited zoekt voor peuterschool Jip en Janneke per 1 november een Peuterleidster (m/v) PT Jip en Janneke is een school voor peuters van 2 tot 4 jaar, die door zowel een Engelse leerkracht als een Nederlandse leerkracht in groepen van maximaal 18 leerlingen worden geleid. Peuterschool Jip en Janneke is onderdeel van de Hollandse School Ltd. De functie is voor 3 dagen per week. De werktijden zijn van uur (uitgezonderd verlengde schooldagen). De vakantieperiodes van de HSL zijn tevens de vakantiedagen voor de leerkrachten, uitgezonderd de eerste week en de laatste week van de zomervakantie en de inservice trainingsdagen. Functie-eisen: Kwalificaties als Sociaal Pedagogisch werker, bevoegd peuterleidster of beschikken over een volledige bevoegdheid tot het geven van onderwijs in het primair onderwijs in Nederland/Vlaanderen Het strekt tot aanbeveling als er ervaring is in de peuteropvang Uitstekende communicatie vaardigheden in het Engels en Nederlands Van een kandidaat wordt verwacht dat hij/zij: Een initiatiefrijk persoon is, die het uitdagend vindt om in een Nederlands/Engelstalige omgeving te werken Een warme persoonlijkheid is met passie voor het werken met jonge kinderen Verder verwachten we dat de kandidaat een teamplayer is, positief en stressbestendig is en beschikt over een flexibel, optimistisch karakter, uitstekende sociale en communicatieve vaardigheden en gevoel voor humor. Create a piece of art to show what you love about living in Singapore Dear Students of the Hollandse School, Congratulations on being one of only 12 schools to take part in the Allied Pickfords Singapore 2015 Desktop Calendar Design Competition! One winning entry from each of the 12 schools taking part will be allocated to one month of the calendar, and then an overall winner from all entries received, will have their design grace the front cover of the calendar. Each winning entry will also receive a $100 Toy R Us voucher. This year s competition is open to students from group 3 to group 8. The topic for this year s design is What do you love about living in Singapore? Each entry (A4 size) must be accompanied by a fully completed entry form, and signed by the entrant s parent/guardian. The entry form and the design can be dropped off at the admin of the HSL until Monday 29 th September the latest.
