5 Upgrade considerations Many baseline enhancements, including: Customer Relationship Management Credit and Re-bill Promise Dates Vendor Contract & Rebate Enhancements Wireless Workbench Enhanced User Interface

6 Upgrade considerations Several optional features, including; Strategic Pricing Light Manufacturing DEA Licensing Pedigree Control

7 Areas of Change All previous Dynachange formats for the Items tab in Order Entry must be re-entered Custom fields on Items tab in Order Entry must be re-added using the Field Chooser in Dynachange Screen Designer Why the change? Required due to infrastructure changes Items tab now in table format to allow additional flexibility, panel views

8 Areas of Change Several new security features have been added to User Maintenance User tab View Cost and Profit in Order Entry Application Security tab Allow RMB access to Customer Maintenance Use Contact Maintenance instead of Contact Inquiry Enable RMB for Services > Print and Print Preview Allow RMB access to Validate Open Orders

9 Performance Considerations With a new interface come many new display options If running a thin client and notices performance issues you can set some of these user specific options to their default value Enable Gradient = Off Theme = Default or Classic Style = Default Sidebar or Menu Bar set to Auto-hide

10 Performance Considerations Minimizing Memory Increases with 12.0 Running the Sidebar On Demand results in quicker menu display as well as minimized RAM required Utilization of new My Menu can also minimize memory requirement even to a level lower than seen in prior versions

11 Technical Considerations Requires Windows version greater than Windows 2000 Due to the use of Crystal 2008, which requires a more current version than Windows 2000 Both SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 are supported Sales manager CRM security capabilities are only available on SQL 2005 Sales rep CRM security capabilities available on SQL 2000 Activant has noticed optimal performance with SQL 2005, service pack 3
