5 Spectrum van temocilline Eng spectrum: Enterobacteriaceae, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis Geen activiteit tegen gram positieve organismen, non-fermenters en anaeroben. BELANGRIJK VOORDEEL: - Hoge stabiliteit tegen: extended-spectrum β- lactamases (TEM, SHV en CTX-M) en tegen AmpC β-lactamasen. - Carbapenems worden zo in reserve gehouden.

48 Besluit De E-test geeft een goede accuraatheid weer in vergelijking met de gouden standaard. De disk diffusie methode met de Neo-Sensitabs van Rosco zijn niet betrouwbaar om de gevoeligheid van temocilline op Enterobacteriaceae te bepalen. De disk diffusie methode met de papieren disks is een goede screenings methode om de gevoeligheid van temocilline op Enterobacteriaceae te bepalen.

49 Vraag 3 Welke kwaliteitscontrole stam kan men gebruikten om de E-test en de disk diffusie gevoeligheidbepaling van temocilline te evalueren? Welke zijn de te gebruiken acceptatielimieten voor papieren schijfjes en voor E-test?

69 Besluit Voorlopig de breekpunten voor temocilline van Fuchs at al (6g temocilline bij 16 mg/l) behouden tot er een consensus bereikt wordt via EUCAST of/en CLSI. Een screeningstest met de disk diffusie methode kan gebruikt worden om de gevoeligheid van temocilline in de routine te bepalen. Indien de diameter < 19mm moet een confirmatie met de E-test gebeuren. De E. coli ATCC35218 gebruiken als kwaliteitscontrole stam voor de papieren schijfjes en de E-test van temocilline. Als acceptatielimieten voor disk diffusie van temocilline mm en van E-test 2-8 mg/l gebruiken.
