Arthroscopic Aspects of Hip and Ankle Surgery Final Program 23 nd annual meeting of the NVA Friday - March 29-2013 1931 Congrescentrum Brabanthallen, 's-hertogenbosch
Arthroscopic surgeons are known for their pioneering qualities. Exploration of joints and restoration of anatomic balance, stability and function are actual themes in arthroscopic practice. Innovative techniques stimulate arthroscopic surgeons in their treatment of a wide range of joint disorders. Successful, evidence-based treatments in one joint have led to innovations in other joints. This is also the case for the ankle and hip joints. The ankle is among the top 3 joints to be treated by arthroscopic techniques, supported by ample scientific evidence, with important contributions from The Netherlands. The concepts of impingement and sports-related disorders of the ankle joint are also recognized in the hip joint, where diagnosis, injuries and surgical indications are still subjects for vivid debate. What is the state of the art in diagnosis and arthroscopic treatment of ankle and hip disorders in 2013? This topic will be the focus of the 23rd Annual Congress of the Dutch Arthroscopy Society (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Arthroscopie-NVA), on March 29, 2013. Title of the congress is Arthroscopic Aspects of Hip and Ankle Surgery. The scientific committee, chaired by Arthur van Noort, has once again succeeded in presenting an exciting program with distinguished (inter)national speakers. They will guarantee new insights and vivid discussions in the morning parallel sessions as well as the afternoon forum session. The congress is an official ISAKOS and ESSKA approved course. Arthroscopic research on various subjects will be presented in the Free Papers session, with the prestigious Eikelaar Prijs awarded for the best paper. I strongly recommend that you visit the workshops and I am grateful to our sponsors for their support and organization. After enjoying his view on the world by our guest speaker in the afternoon, I would like to invite you at the bar for farewell drinks.
