Selectie-criteria D1600 hanteert bij het toekennen van de bijdragen aan clubs als criteria: Valt het binnen de Area s of Focus? Veel clubs ondersteunen Wat doet de club zelf in het project? Wat draagt de club af aan TRF? Hoe vaak deed club eerder beroep op TRF?

Financiële systematiek Voor Global Grants is 50% van DDF beschikbaar om projecten in buitenlandse districten te ondersteunen. Welke problemen komen we tegen? De vermeende bureaucratie van TRF Marginale toetsing, waarbij gekeken wordt: Is de aanvraag juist ingevuld en compleet? Valt project binnen de Areas of Focus? Zijn uitgaven gelijk aan inkomsten? Is duurzaamheid gewaarborgd? Zijn clubs up-to-date met rapportage (niet meer dan 5 gelijktijdige projecten) Naar mijn mening zijn TRF medewerkers zeer hulpvaardig
Problemen, vervolg In landen als Kenya en Tanzania zijn meer projecten dan locale Rotaryclubs aankunnen. Internationale clubs laten vaak steken vallen bij rapportages. Dat vertraagt nieuwe projecten. Als continuïteit niet gewaarborgd, dan stelt TRF vragen. Wisseling van club functionarissen wordt vaak slecht verwerkt. Nieuw computersysteem voor velen moeilijk ( en heeft nog wat onvolkomenheden)

Polio de Wereld uit (kort) We maken grote stappen met de uitroeiing van Polio. Nieuwe vaccins en nieuwe strategieën hebben zeer veel resultaat. De sceptici hebben ongelijk! Lees de beschikbare informatie op www.polioeradication.org Desondanks nog veel geld nodig. Onze (klein-) kinderen krijgen toch ook vaccinaties tegen difterie, tetanus, polio, kinkhoest, rode hond. Polio-vervolg BEIJING---China vaccinated more than 9 million children and young adults last September in Xinjiang in a fight against polio after the disease paralyzed 18 people and killed one of them. Over 4 million children received a second dose of polio vaccine in early October. Polio had broken out in China in late August, 2011 for the first time since 1999. Genetic sequencing of the isolated viruses indicates that they are related to wild polioviruses circulating in Pakistan. China is undertaking an aggressive outbreak response: Within 15 days of confirmation that wild poliovirus had been detected, a 'level two' public health emergency had been declared, both the Minister and Vice-Minister of Health had travelled to the affected region, almost 150 health professionals from around China had been deployed, five million doses of oral polio vaccine had been airlifted to the province and more than 200,000 hospital records had been reviewed for potential polio cases.
Polio-vervolg WORLD leaders from Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, Nigeria and Pakistan joined Bill Gates on Saturday October 29 th 2011 in pledging over $100 million in new funds to help deliver a polio-free world. Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard led the call at the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Perth, announcing an Australian$ 50 million commitment to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, which she called an investment in saving lives. Three of the four remaining polio-endemic countries India, Nigeria and Pakistan are members of the Commonwealth. At a joint press conference with United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron, Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Mr Harper and Mr Jonathan, Ms Gillard declared the five countries were here today to demonstrate our commitment to end polio for all time.
