It s in every policy De diabetesverpleegkundige en zelfzorg De diabetesverpleegkundigen in de regio Arnhem hebben binnen de huisartsenprak6jk verschillende taken. De belangrijkste is het begeleiden van diabetespa6e nten. Deze begeleiding vindt plaats door middel van het geven van educa6e over de ziekte diabetes, het geven van voorlich6ng en het geven van advies aan pa6e nten. Volgens de diabetesverpleegkundigen komt het voor dat de zelfzorg niet al6jd volledig goed wordt uitgevoerd. In termen van de theorie van Orem is er sprake van een zelfzorgtekort. Dit zelfzorgtekort wordt veroorzaakt door een gebrek aan mo6va6e, het referen6ekader van de pa6e nt, de omgeving, een nega6ef zelbeeld, een gebrek aan inzicht of door onmacht. Dit zijn psychosociale en bewegingsfactoren, die lijden tot een gebrekkige zelfzorg. Volgens Orem kunnen er beperkingen zijn in de kennen en weten, in oordeel- en besluitvormend gedrag, en in produc6ef gedrag zijn.
