4 Dankwoord 0 Dankwoord Dit proefschrift is gebaseerd op onderzoek dat is uitgevoerd op de afdeling Hartziekten en de afdeling Radiologie van het Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum. Allereerst, wil ik graag mijn dank uitspreken aan alle patiënten en vrijwilligers die hebben deelgenomen aan de diverse MRI onderzoeken. Verder ben ik alle medewerkers en collega s van de afdeling Hartziekten en de afdeling Radiologie die direct of indirect betrokken zijn geweest bij de totstandkoming van dit proefschrift zeer erkentelijk voor hun samenwerking, ondersteuning, enthousiasme en inspiratie.

6 Curriculum vitae 0 CURRICULUM VITAE De auteur van dit proefschrift werd geboren op april in Rotterdam. In 0 behaalde zij haar eindexamen aan het Erasmiaans Gymnasium te Rotterdam. Zij ving in hetzelfde jaar aan met de studie Geneeskunde aan de Universiteit Leiden. Tijdens haar studie heeft zij een klinische stage (KNO) gelopen in het Hôpital Lariboisière (Parijs, Frankrijk) en heeft zij onderzoek gedaan bij het Centre voor Cardiovascular Science aan de Universiteit van Edinburgh (Edinburgh, Schotland). In 0 haalde zij haar artsexamen, waarna zij direct startte in het Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum met haar promotieonderzoek onder leiding van Prof. dr. E.E. van der Wall en Prof. dr. H.J. Lamb. De resultaten hiervan staan beschreven in dit proefschrift. Per mei is zij begonnen met haar opleiding tot cardioloog vanuit het Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum (opleider: Prof. Dr. M.J. Schalij). Recent heeft zij haar vooropleiding Interne Geneeskunde in het Bronovo Ziekenhuis te Den Haag (opleider: Dr. Y.W.J. Sijpkens) afgerond. De rest van haar opleiding tot cardioloog zal worden voortgezet in het Groene Hart Ziekenhuis te Gouda (opleider: Dr. M.W.J. van Hessen) en in het Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum.
