Inleiding Proficiat met de aanschaf van de Proxima ISDN Lite. Indien u een supersnelle Internet-verbinding wenst op te zetten via ISDN, dan zal dit toestel u aangenaam verrassen. Dankzij de meegeleverde communicatiesoftware (RVS-Com Lite en/of BVRP) kan u zonder problemen Internet-connecties opzetten, faxen zenden en ontvangen en het toestel als een antwoordapparaat gebruiken. De gebruiksvriendelijkheid van deze ISDN-adapter wordt weerspiegeld in de klare, drietalige installatiehandleiding (Nl/F/E) en de meegeleverde configuratiesoftware. Hiermee kan u bijvoorbeeld het B-kanaal protocol heel eenvoudig instellen evenals de MSN-nummers (meervoudige abonneenummers). Door deze eenvoud in gebruik biedt de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite de allerbeste verhouding prijs/kwaliteit in de markt. In deze installatiehandleiding wordt beschreven hoe de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite dient aangesloten te worden aan uw PC en hoe u de drivers moet installeren. 1. Aansluiten van de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite. In deze paragraaf wordt uitgelegd hoe de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite dient aangesloten te worden. Neem de ISDN-kabel en klik de (kleine) RJ-11connector in de SO-Bus aansluiting achteraan de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite. Klik daarna de (grote) RJ- 45 connector in de TWIN/BRA van Belgacom of in de voorziene wandcontactdoos. 2. Verbind de seriële poort (RS-232) achteraan de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite met die van de computer via de meegeleverde seriële kabel. 3. Sluit de netspanningsadapter van de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite aan (Power = PWR, achteraan). 4. Zet de computer aan. De Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite is nu aangesloten. 30/11/1999 9
2. Installatie van de drivers. Voordat u kan werken met de Proxima ISDN Lite moeten de drivers geï nstalleerd worden. Indien u gebruik maakt van Windows 95 of 98 zal de installatie automatisch verlopen via de Plug & Play functionaliteit van Windows. Als u met Windows NT werkt, moet de installatie handmatig gebeuren. 2.1 Plug & Play Installatie in Windows 98. Nadat u de computer heeft aangezet, geeft Windows 98 aan dat er nieuwe hardware is gevonden. De installatie gaat als volgt (we tonen de Engelstalige schermen van Windows 98): Nadat Windows 98 de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite heeft gevonden, verschijnt het volgende scherm: Klik op Next (Volgende). Selecteer de plaats ( Floppy disk drives ) waar Windows de nodige drivers kan vinden. Plaats de meegeleverde driverdiskette in het diskettestation en klik op Next (Volgende). Windows bevestigt de aanwezigheid van de correcte drivers. Klik op Next (Volgende). Alle benodigde bestanden worden nu naar de computer getransfereerd. 30/11/1999 11

Verwijder de driver- diskette uit het diskettestation en klik op Reboot. Als dit allemaal gelukt is, kunt u verdergaan met hoofdstuk 3, Installatie van de configuratiesoftware. Zo niet, dan kunt u de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite handmatig installeren, zoals beschreven in hoofdstuk 2.3, Handmatige installatie in Windows NT. 30/11/1999 12
2.2 Plug & Play installatie in Windows 95. Nadat u de computer heeft aangezet, geeft Windows 95 aan dat er nieuwe hardware is gevonden. De installatie gaat als volgt (we tonen de Engelstalige schermen van Windows 95). Nadat Windows 95 de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite heeft gevonden, verschijnt het volgende scherm: klik op Next (Volgende). Plaats de meegeleverde driverdiskette in het diskettestation en klik op Finish (Beëindigen). Alle benodigde bestanden worden nu naar de computer getransfereerd. 30/11/1999 13
Opmerking: In sommige versies van Windows 95 wordt de automatische installatieprocedure onderbroken en moet men handmatig de naam van het diskettestation ingeven. Geef dan gewoon A:\ in. Als dit allemaal gelukt is, kunt u verdergaan met hoofdstuk 3, Installatie van de configuratiesoftware. Zo niet, dan kunt u de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite handmatig installeren, zoals beschreven in hoofdstuk 2.3, Handmatige installatie in Windows NT. 30/11/1999 14
2.3 Handmatige installatie in Windows NT. Indien uw systeem geen nieuw apparaat detecteert of al aan staat, moet u de volgende stappen ondernemen. Klik op de knop Start van de taakbalk, selecteer Instellingen en klik op Configuratiescherm ( Start, Settings, Control Panel ). Het Configuratiescherm verschijnt. Dubbelklik hier op Modems. Aangezien Windows geen specifieke ISDN-apparaten kent, wordt een Terminal Adapter zoals de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite als een modem aangestuurd. Op het scherm verschijnt nu een venster Modems ( Modems Properties, General ). Klik op de knop Toevoegen ( Add ). Klik op het lege vakje voor Modem niet detecteren; zelf selecteren in een lijst ( Don t detect my modem; I will select it from a list ). Er komt een V in het vakje. Klik op Volgende ( Next ). Soms moet hier even gewacht worden omdat Windows een database van de drivers samenstelt. 30/11/1999 15
In het volgende venster staan verschillende types van modems. Er moet echter een model vanaf de meegeleverde driverdiskette geï nstalleerd worden. Klik daarom op Diskette ( Have Disk ). Plaats de meegeleverde diskette in het diskettestation. Selecteer de juiste drive en klik op OK. Nu verschijnt het volgende venster: Selecteer het model dat geï nstalleerd moet worden, bijvoorbeeld: Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite PPP voor communicatie met een ISP (Internet Service Provider). Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite V.120 voor communicatie met een BBS (Bulletin Board System). Klik op Volgende ( Next ). Nu verschijnt er een venster waarin de seriële poort, waaraan de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite is aangesloten, geselecteerd moet worden. Over het algemeen is dit COM2. Selecteer de poort en klik vervolgens op Volgende ( Next ). 30/11/1999 16
Nu verschijnt het laatste venster met de melding Uw modem is geïnstalleerd ( Your modem has been set up successfully ). Klik nu op Voltooien ( Finish ). Als u meerdere protocollen wenst te installeren, kunt u dat doen door de laatste stappen te herhalen. Hierna is de installatieprocedure voltooid. Opmerking: Windows suggereert dat men voor elk protocol een aparte modem nodig heeft. Het is echter zo dat één modem (in dit geval, de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite) al deze protocollen aan kan. 3. Installatie van de configuratiesoftware. Na de Plug & Play installatie van de drivers in Windows 95/98 (hoofdstuk 2.1 en 2.2) is de installatie van de configuratiesoftware automatisch begonnen en wordt het openingsscherm, zoals afgebeeld bovenaan de volgende pagina, getoond. Indien u de installatie handmatig (hoofdstuk 2.3) aan het doen bent in Windows NT of omdat de installatie in Windows 95/98 problematisch verliep, kunt u de configuratiesoftware installeren door achtereenvolgens Start, Uitvoeren ( Run ) te selecteren en dan A:SETUP in te tikken. Vervolgens klikt u op OK. Hierna verschijnt het openingsscherm, zoals afgebeeld bovenaan de volgende pagina. Klik nu op Volgende ( Next ). Opmerking: Vooraleer de configuratie te starten, is het aangeraden eerst alle programma s onder Windows te sluiten. In dat geval klikt u op Cancel. Sluit daarna alle Windows programma s af en keer terug naar de installatie van de configuratiesoftware (zie hierboven: installeren van de configuratiesoftware na handmatige installatie van de drivers). 30/11/1999 17
In de volgende schermen kunt u de map en programmagroep aanpassen waar de configuratiebestanden komen te staan. Voor de standaardmap en -groep klikt u in beide schermen op Next. 30/11/1999 18
Klik nu op Finish om de Setup af te sluiten en de configuratiesoftware te starten. Zorg ervoor dat de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite aangesloten is en dat deze aan staat. 30/11/1999 19
4. Configuratie van de Proxima ISDN Lite. Het configuratieprogramma zoekt nu naar de Proxima ISDN Lite. Het versienummer kan verschillen van het hier getoonde. Klik op Next om verder te gaan met de configuratie. Het instellen van MSN-nummers. Wanneer u een ISDN-aansluiting bestelt, is het mogelijk om meer dan één en maximaal 8 telefoonnummers aan te vragen bij de telefoonmaatschappij. Bij Belgacom bijvoorbeeld krijgt men bij de aanvraag van een standaard BRAaansluiting 1 hoofdnummer. Bijkomende nummers dienen aangevraagd en betaald te worden. Bij een TWIN-aansluiting geeft Belgacom bijvoorbeeld twee nummers en dienen de bijkomende nummers apart te worden aangevraagd en betaald. Een dergelijke dienstverlening wordt ook wel MSN genoemd ( Multiple Subscriber Numbers of in het Nederlands Meervoudige Abonnee Nummers ). De Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite kan als dusdanig worden geconfigureerd dat een telefoonnummer gekoppeld wordt aan een protocol. Wordt dit nummer gebeld, dan zal de Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite een verbinding volgens het ingestelde protocol opbouwen. In het scherm zoals op de volgende pagina aangegeven, kunnen alle MSNnummers die horen bij de ISDN-2-aansluiting ingevuld worden. 30/11/1999 20
Klik op Next om verder te gaan. In onderstaand scherm dient u in te geven welk MSN-nummer u wenst te koppelen aan een welbepaald B-kanaal protocol. Als gekozen wordt voor de optie all numbers zal de Proxima ISDN Lite elke binnenkomende communicatie-aanvraag aanvaarden. Wordt gekozen voor de optie none dan reageert de Proxima Lite ISDN niet op een binnenkomende communicatie aanvraag. Let op: de applicatiesoftware zoals RVS-Com Lite, BVRP of DUN/RAS moet geactiveerd zijn om een binnenkomende call te kunnen beantwoorden. Klik op Next voor het volgende scherm. 30/11/1999 21
Bij Connected Line Identification Presentation kan u het uitbellende nummer ingeven. Dit nummer wordt zichtbaar bij de gebelde partij nog voordat het gesprek wordt beantwoord. Als gekozen wordt voor main number, wordt het hoofdnummer ingesteld. CLIP = incoming number, ingegeven door degene die naar u belt. COLP = outgoing number dat u zelf op deze plaats in de configuratiesoftware kan ingeven. CLIP en COLP zijn dus complementaire begrippen. Het door u ingegeven nummer ( COLP ) wordt een CLIP voor degene die door u wordt opgebeld. Met de optie Default data protocol kan u instellen welk B-kanaal protocol u als standaardinstelling verkiest wanneer de Proxima ISDN Lite wordt aangezet of gereset. Klik op Next voor het volgende scherm. Door op Finish te klikken wordt de ingestelde configuratie bewaard in de Bausch 30/11/1999 22

Préface Félicitations. Vous avez choisi le boîtier Proxima ISDN Lite de pour découvrir le monde de la communication de données avec votre ordinateur ou votre terminal. Si vous désirez vous connecter à Internet à travers une ligne numérique, la solution Proxima ISDN Lite vous donnera satisfaction. Ce boîtier externe est livré avec un manuel d installation trilingue et tous les logiciels nécessaires pour configurer et pour communiquer, permettant ainsi des applications comme l accès à Internet, le Minitel, l envoi et la réception de Fax G3 et le répondeur intégré. Sa simplicité d emploi en fait un produit très efficace de communication. Par exemple, l utilitaire de configuration unique vous permet de changer le protocol par défaut du canal B et de changer les numéraux MSN. Le boîtier se positionne sur le marché avec un excellent rapport qualité/prix. Ce manuel d installation décrit la façon de raccordement de votre boîtier Proxima ISDN Lite à votre PC et comment il faut procéder à l installation des pilotes. 1. La mise en service du Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite Dans ce chapitre nous vous guiderons pendant le raccordement et la mise en service du Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite. Votre modem possède des indicateurs LED sur la face avant qui affichent l état du modem. Eteignez votre ordinateur. 2. Prenez le câble ISDN et introduisez le petit connecteur RJ-11 dans le connecteur marqué SO-Bus au dos du Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite jusqu au clic. Branchez l autre extrémité du câble ISDN (RJ-45) sur le connecteur murale ISDN S0 (NT1). 3. Branchez l extrémité mâle (25 broches) du câble série dans le connecteur marqué RS232 au dos du boîtier. Branchez l autre extrémité du câble série sur le port série de votre ordinateur. 4. Mettez le Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite sous tension (PWR=Power, au dos du boîtier). 5. Allumez votre ordinateur. Votre boîtier Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite est maintenant raccordé. 30/11/1999 30
2. L installation des pilotes. Avant de pouvoir utiliser le Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite, vous devez installer les pilotes. Si vous utilisez Microsoft Windows 95 of 98, l'installation se fait automatiquement à l'aide de la fonction Plug & Play. Si vous utilisez Windows NT, vous devez les installer manuellement. Pour l'installation manuelle des pilotes sous Windows NT, reportez-vous au chapitre 2.3. 2.1 Installation Plug & Play sous Windows 98. Après le démarrage de l'ordinateur, Windows 98 vous avertit qu'il a détecté un nouveau périphérique. Les captures d'écran suivantes proviennent de Windows 98, version anglaise. L'installation se déroule comme suit: Cliquez sur Suivant ( Next ). Cliquez sur Suivant ( Next ). Sélectionnez lecteur de disquette ( Floppy disk drives ) et introduisez la disquette fournie avec, dans le lecteur de disquettes. Cliquez sur Suivant ( Next ). 30/11/1999 31
Windows 98 détecté les pilotes du Proxima ISDN Lite. Cliquez sur Suivant ( Next ). Le système installe tous les pilotes et démarre l utilitaire de configuration. Les pilotes suivants sont installés automatiquement: Proxima ISDN Lite V.120 Protocole V.120 64 Kbps Proxima ISDN Lite PPP Protocole PPP 64 Kbps Proxima ISDN Lite V.110 Protocole V.110 Proxima ISDN Lite ML-V.120 Protocole multilink V.120 128 Kbps Proxima ISDN Lite ML-PPP Protocole multilink PPP 128 Kbps Remarque: Windows vous fait croire qu'à chaque protocole correspond un appareil distinct. Si tout s'est bien déroulé, vous pouvez passer au chapitre 3, L installation de l utilitaire de configuration sous Windows 95/98/NT. Dans l'autre cas, vous pouvez installer manuellement les pilotes pour le Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite (voir chapitre 2.3, Installation manuelle des pilotes sous Windows 95/98/NT ). 30/11/1999 33
2.2 Installation Plug & Play sous Windows 95. Après le démarrage de l'ordinateur, Windows 95 vous avertit qu'il a détecté un nouveau périphérique. 2.3 Installation manuelle des pilotes sous Windows NT. Si votre ordinateur est déjà allumé ou s'il n'a pas détecté le nouveau périphérique, vous devez exécuter les étapes suivantes: 1. Cliquez sur le bouton Démarrer ( Start ), sélectionnez Paramètres ( Settings ) et cliquez sur Panneau de configuration ( Control Panel ). 2. Le panneau de configuration apparaît. Double-cliquez sur Modems. Puisque Windows ne fait pas la distinction entre appareils ISDN et analogiques, votre Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite est piloté comme un modem. 3. La fenêtre Modems ( Modems Properties, General ) apparaît sur l'écran. Cliquez sur Ajouter ( Add ). 4. Cochez la case Ne pas détecter mon modem, sélection dans une liste ( Don t detect my modem ; I will select it from a list ). Un v apparaît dans la case. Cliquez sur Suivant ( Next ). Parfois il faut attendre quelques instants jusqu'à ce que Windows ait fini de constituer la base de données des pilotes. 5. 3. L installation de l utilitaire de configuration Configuration Tool sous Windows 95/98/NT. L'installation Plug & Play des pilotes sous Windows 95/98 (chapitres 2.1 et 2.2) est suivie de l'installation de l utilitaire de configuration. Si vous êtes en train d'installer manuellement (chapitre 2.3: installation des pilotes sous Windows NT), vous pouvez installer l utilitaire de configuration en cliquant sur Démarrer ( Start ), Exécuter ( Run ) et en tapant A:SETUP. Cliquez ensuite sur OK. Le premier écran apparaît. Cliquez sur Suivant ( Next ). Dans les écrans suivants, vous pouvez choisir un autre dossier et groupe de programmes pour installer les fichiers de configuration. 4. Configuration du PROXIMA ISDN LITE. Le logiciel de configuration cherche le Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite (le numéro de version peut être différent du numéro affiché). Cliquez sur Next afin de poursuivre la configuration. Configuration des numéros MSN. Une ligne ISDN vous permet de demander à l'opérateur jusqu'à 8 numéros de téléphone. Dans beaucoup de pays l opérateur vous permet d avoir différents numéros attribués à une ligne ISDN. En France par exemple, vous obtiendrez 1 numéro principal et 3 numéros supplémentaires en option. Si vous souhaitez plus de numéros, vous devez en faire la demande. En Belgique à la demande d une ligne ISDN standard BRA (ISDN-2) vous obtiendrez 1 numéro principal. Des numéros supplémentaires sont optionnels, mais payants. Une connexion TWIN de Belgacom vous permet d obtenir deux numéros principals; des numéros supplémentairs sont aussi optionnels et payants. Ce service s'appelle MSN (Multiple Subscriber Numbers ou Numéros d'abonnée multiples). Avec le Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite vous pouvez attribuer à chaque numéro de téléphone un protocole. Si ce numéro est appelé, le Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite établira une communication selon le protocole configuré. Un écran, comme celui à la page suivante, permet d'entrer tous les numéros MSN qui correspondent à la connexion ISDN-2. Cliquez sur Next pour continuer. 30/11/1999 41
Dans l'écran suivant, vous avez la possibilité d attribuer un numéro MSN à un protocol spécifique du canal B. La fonction Connected Line Identification Presentation ( COLP ) permet d'entrer le numéro désiré (le numéro de l'appelant) qui sera visible sur l'écran de l'appelé avant qu'il ne réponde à l'appel. 2. Driver installation. Before you can actually use the Proxima ISDN Lite, you need to install the drivers. If you use Windows 95 or 98, the drivers will automatically be installed because of the Windows Plug & Play feature. If you use Windows NT, the installation needs to be done manually. 2.1 Plug & Play Installation in Windows 98. 2.3 Manual installation in Windows NT. In case your system did not detect new hardware or is already turned on, you will have to follow the following steps. Click the Start button in the taskbar, then select Settings, then Control panel and go to Modems. Since Windows does not know any specific ISDN hardware, a Terminal Adapter such as the Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite will be recognized as a modem. You now get the screen install new modem ( Modems Properties, General ). Click Add. Make sure you check the box Don t detect my modem; I will select it from a list. Click Next. The following screen shows all different types of modems. However, you need to install the driver from the driver disk you received with your modem. So, choose Have Disk. 30/11/1999 56

The following screen will appear: Select the type that needs to be installed, for example: Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite PPP for communication with an ISP (Internet Service Provider). You now get a screen that allows you to choose the serial port the Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite needs to be connected to. In general this is COM2. Select the port and click Next. After that, the final screen will appear: your modem has been set up successfully. Click Finish. If you want to install several protocols, you can do so by repeating the last steps. After this the installation is completed. Remark: Windows implies you need a separate modem for each protocol, but actually one modem (in this case the Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite) can handle all these protocols. 3. Installation of the configuration software. After the Plug & Play installation of the drivers in Windows 95/98 (chapter 2.1 en 2.2), the installation of the configuration software has started automatically. After that the opening screen, as shown on top of the next page, will appear. In case you are installing everything manually (chapter 2.3) in Windows, you can install the configuration software by going to Start, Run and then type A:SETUP. After that you click OK. The opening screen, which you can find at the top of the next page, will appear. Then click Next. Remark: before starting with the configuration, you should close all programs in Windows. 4. How to configure the Proxima ISDN Lite? The configuration tool will search for the Proxima ISDN Lite (the version of the tool may differ from the one shown here). Click Next to continue with the configuration. Configuring the MSN-numbers. When you switch to an ISDN connection, it is possible to apply for more than 1 and maximum 8 phone numbers from your telecom operator. The telecom operator supplies 1 main number for a standard connection. You can apply for additional numbers, but you will have to pay for them. With an ISDN-Twin connection (Belgium), your telecom operator (Belgacom in this case) offers you 2 numbers. You can ask for additional numbers, but you will also have to pay for them. This service is often referred to as MSN ( Multiple Subscriber Numbers ). You can configure the Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite so you can assign a phone number to a protocol. When someone calls this number, the Bausch Proxima ISDN Lite will establish the connection according to the set protocol. As you can tell by the screen on the next page, you can fill out all the MSNnumbers of the ISDN-2 connection. 30/11/1999 61
Click Next to continue. In the next screen you need to specify which MSN-number you want to match a given B-channel protocol. You can choose this for each phone number. If you choose for all numbers the phone will ring for each MSN-number. If you choose for none the phone will never ring. Remark: please note that application software needs to be active in order to detect an incoming call. Possible software can be RVS-Com Lite, BVRP or DUN/RAS. Click Next. 30/11/1999 62
In the Connected Line Identification Presentation (COLP) screen, the caller s phone number needs to be filled out. This number will show up on the display on the other side, even before the phone is being answered. When you choose for main number, the main number will appear. CLIP = to display an incoming number. COLP = to display an outgoing number. This number will be an incoming number (CLIP) on the other side. The Default data protocol indicates which B-channel protocol will be used as default when the Proxima ISDN Lite is turned on, or when you reset it. Click Next for the following screen.
