4 1. ALGEMEEN: LEES DEZE GEBRUIKSAANWIJZING VOORDAT U DE KLEM GEBRUIKT. Bedankt voor de aanschaf van uw nieuwe Rema veiligheids-platenhijsklem. Rema is een ISO 9001 gecertificeerde onderneming en staat door haar ruime ervaring garant voor optimale kwaliteit en veiligheid. Rema hijsklemmen zijn vervaardigd uit hoogwaardige staalsoorten en voldoen geheel aan de Europese eisen en normen zoals gesteld in de Machinerichtlijn 2006/42/EG. 2. WERKINGSPRINCIPE: De CRK -hijsklemmen zijn speciaal ontworpen voor het horizontaal hijsen en transporteren van pijp en rondstaal. Ze bestaan uit een huis en een hijsoog. 3. GEBRUIKSGEBIED: - De CRK-hijsklemmen zijn uitsluitend geschikt voor het hijsen en transporteren van pijp en rondstaal. - Toegestane gebruikspositie van de klem is: - Het hijsen en transporteren van pijp en rondstaal uit horizontale positie - Technische documentatie opvraagbaar bij fabrikant. 4. VEILIGHEIDSVOORSCHRIFTEN: DENK AAN UW PERSOONLIJKE VEILIGHEID: LEES EERST DE ONDERSTAANDE VEILIGHEIDSVOORSCHRIFTEN. - Voor uw eigen veiligheid en om uw aanspraak op onze productveiligheid te continueren moet de klem minimaal 1 maal per jaar gecontroleerd, getest en indien nodig gereviseerd worden door Rema of een ander erkend revisiebedrijf. Zie ook het hoofdstuk "revisie" (8). Neem contact op met Rema voor meer informatie. LEVENSGEVAAR: - Werk nooit met een ongekeurde klem. - Neem afstand bij het hijsen en ga nooit onder de last staan. - Gebruik de klem niet als hij beschadigd is; laat de klem repareren door Rema of een ander erkend revisiebedrijf. Bij twijfel: Raadpleeg uw leverancier. - Hijs nooit meer dan één last tegelijk. - Hijs nooit lasten die zwaarder zijn dan de veilige werklast (WWL), zoals aangegeven op de klem, het certificaat en in bovenstaande tabel. - Hijs geen pijp en of rondstaal die groter of kleiner zijn dan de bekopening, zoals aangegeven op de klem en het certificaat. - Pas bij gelijktijdig gebruik van meerdere hijsklemmen naast elkaar een hijsbalk (evenaar) en voldoende lange hijsstroppen of kettingen toe, zodat de hijsogen van de hijsklemmen nooit zijdelings belast worden - Ontdoe de last op de plaats waar de klem wordt aangebracht van vet, olie, vuil, corrosie en walshuid. - Zorg dat de klem(men) dusdanig geplaatst zijn dat de last in balans is tijdens het hijsen. - De klem is uitsluitend geschikt voor gebruik in normale atmosferische omstandigheden. 4

5 WAARSCHUWING: - Een vrije val of het ongecontroleerd slingeren aan de kraanhaak waarbij voorwerpen geraakt worden kan schade aan de klem veroorzaken. Indien dit gebeurt dient de klem voor gebruik op goede werking gecontroleerd te worden. - Hijsklemmen zijn niet geschikt als permanente verbinding. - De klem dient maandelijks onderhouden te worden, zie het hoofdstuk "onderhoud" (6). - Breng geen wijzigingen aan op de klem (lassen, slijpen e.d.), deze kunnen de werking en de veiligheid nadelig beïnvloeden en hierdoor vervallen alle vormen van garantie en productaansprakelijkheid. - Gebruik om bovenstaande reden ook alleen originele Rema onderdelen. BEWAAR DEZE GEBRUIKSAANWIJZING. 5. HIJSEN: - Controleer of de veilige werklast (WWL) van de klemmen voldoende is voor de belasting die in de hijssituatie ontstaat. Let op: de veilige werklast (WWL) is weergegeven per hijsklem. - Bevestig de hijsklem aan de hijsinstallatie: 1. direct aan een kraanhaak met veiligheidssluiting, 2. d.m.v. een harp of D-sluiting, 3. d.m.v. een strop of ketting eventueel in combinatie met een harp of D-sluiting. - Zorg ervoor dat alle bevestingsmiddelen gekeurd en van het juiste tonnage zijn. Let op dat bevestigingsschalmen en -sluitingen voldoende groot zijn, zodat de klem vrij in de haak kan bewegen. - Controleer of de klem geen zichtbare schade heeft. - Controleer of de klem soepel open en dicht gaat. - Maak de last ten plaatse van de hijsklem vrij van vet, vuil en walshuid. - Open de klem. - Plaats de klem volledig over de pijp en of rondstaal en zorg dat de klem dusdanig geplaatst is dat de last in balans is tijdens het hijsen. - Hijs rustig zodat de hijskracht kan aangrijpen; controleer of de klem niet draait of kantelt. - Indien de klem kantelt of draait doorloop dan het hoofdstuk "hijsen" (5) opnieuw. - Zorg dat de last stabiel is geplaatst. 6. ONDERHOUD: - Controleer minstens eenmaal per maand de algehele staat van de klem, zie het hoofdstuk "demontage/montage" (7). - Gebruik de klem niet meer als: - het huis gescheurd of vervormd is. - het hijsoog zichtbaar vervormd is, - de bouten zichtbaar vervormd zijn, - borgmoeren ontbreken, - de markering op de klem niet meer leesbaar is. Afhankelijk van de geconstateerde gebreken: - demonteer en reinig de klem (zie hoofdstuk "demontage/montage" (7)) of - laat de klem reviseren door Rema of een ander erkend revisiebedrijf (zie hoofdstuk "revisie" (8)). Raadpleeg bij twijfel uw leverancier. 5

6 7. DEMONTAGE/MONTAGE: De klem kan voor het reinigen en inspecteren op eenvoudige wijze gedemonteerd worden. - Verwijder de borgmoeren en bouten - Verwijder het hijsoog en haal alle delen van elkaar - Controleer alle bouten en afstandbussen - Reinig alle onderdelen m.b.v. een standaard ontvettingsmiddel. - Monteer alle onderdelen in omgekeerde volgorde. - Plaats altijd nieuwe originele borgmoeren - Gebruik bij vervanging altijd originele Rema onderdelen. - Verwijder eventuele bramen m.b.v. een vijl. Raadpleeg bij twijfel uw leverancier. 8. REVISIE: - Minimaal 1 keer per jaar, of als schade aan de klem dit nodig maakt, dient u de klem te laten controleren, testen en indien nodig reviseren door Rema of een ander erkend revisiebedrijf. Raadpleeg bij twijfel uw leverancier. 9. VERNIETIGING: - De klem kan aan het einde van zijn levensduur als oud ijzer behandeld worden, mits de klem onbruikbaar wordt gemaakt. 10. 7 1. GENERAL Congratulations with the acquisition of your REMA safety lifting clamp. The quality systems of management and services of REMA fully comply with ISO 9001 standards. The many years of vast experience are a guarantee of optimum quality and safety. REMA Lifting Clamps are made of top quality alloyed steel and fully comply with European standards as laid down in Machine Directive 2006/42/EG. 2. OPERATING PRINCIPLE The CRK lifting clamps have been specially designed for horizontal lifting and transporting of tubes, bundles of tubes and solid round materials. The clamp consists of a body and a lifting shackle. 3. APPLICATION REMA CRK Lifting Clamps are exclusively designed for lifting and transporting tubelike solid shapes. Permissible positions for using the clamp are: - Lifting and transporting tubes, bundles of tubes and solid round materials from a horizontal position. (Technical documentation is available from the manufacturer) 4. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS: BE AWARE OF YOUR PERSONAL SAFETY: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW. Ensure your personal safety and continue to benefit from our product safety by having the clamp inspected, tested and if necessary revised at least once a year by REMA or another recognised mechanical repair centre. Also please refer to section 8 of this manual for further instructions on revision. For additional information please contact REMA DANGER: - Never work with an untested clamp. - Keep your distance when lifting and never stand under the load. - Do not use the clamp if damaged; have the clamp repaired an recognized mechanical repair centre. If in doubt consult your supplier. - Never lift more than one tube or bundle at a time. - Do not lift loads which are larger or smaller than the jaw opening, as indicated on the clamp and the test certificate. - Do not lift loads which are heavier than the safe working load (WLL), as indicated on the clamp and the test certificate. - When using a number of clamps at the same time provide lifting slings or chains of a sufficient length. 7

8 - When simultaneously operating a number of clamps at the time side by side use a lifting beam (equaliser) and lifting slings or chains of a sufficient length to ensure that the lifting shackles on the clamps are never subjected to lateral load. - Remove all grease, oil, dirt, corrosion and mill scale from the load at the point where the clamp is to be attached. - Ensure that the clamp(s) is (are) positioned so as to balance the load when it is being lifted. - The clamp is only suitable for use in normal atmospheric conditions. WARNING: - A free fall or uncontrolled swaying at the crane hook resulting in objects being struck may cause damage to the clamp. If this happens check whether the clamp is in good working order before using it again. - Lifting clamps are not suitable for creating permanent joints. - The clamp should be maintained on a monthly basis. Refer to section 6 on "maintenance". - Do not modify the clamp (by welding, grinding, etc.), as this can adversely affect its operation and safety, thereby nullifying any forms of guarantee and product liability. - For the same reason, use only original REMA components. - Any improper use of the clamp and/or failure to observe any directions and warnings in these operating instructions concerning the use of this product may endanger the health of the user and/or bystanders. KEEP THESE OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS SAFE AND AT YOUR DISPOSAL AT ANY TIME. 5. LIFTING - Check whether the safe working load (WLL) of the clamp is sufficient for the load created in the lifting situation. N.B.: the safe working load (WLL) is shown on each lifting clamp. - Attach the lifting clamp to the hoisting mechanism: 1. directly to a crane hook by means of a safety shackle, 2. by means of a coupling link or D shackle, 3. by means of a sling or chain, if necessary in conjunction with a coupling link or D-shackle. - Ensure that all attachments have been tested and are of the correct tonnage. Make sure that coupling links and shackles are large enough to allow the clamp to move freely in the hook. - Check whether the clamp has any visible damage. - Check whether the clamp opens and closes smoothly. - Open the clamp. - Place the legs as far as they will go over the load, making sure that the clamp is positioned so as to balance the load when it is being lifted. - Lift gently so that lifting force can be applied; check whether the clamp is rotating or tilting. 8

9 - If the clamp is rotating or tilting go through this section on again. - Ensure that the load is in a stable position. 6. MAINTENANCE - Check the general condition of the clamp at least once a month, refer to section 7 on assembly / disassembly. - Stop using the clamp if: - the body is split or deformed - the lifting shackle is visibly deformed, - the shackle pins are visibly deformed, - any locking nuts are missing, - the marking on the clamp is no longer legible. Depending on the defects noted: - dismantle and clean the clamp (see section 7 on assembly / disassembly, or - have the clamp revised by REMA Holland B.V. or another recognized mechanical repair centre (see section 8 on revision). IF IN DOUBT CONTACT YOUR SUPPLIER 7. ASSEMBLY / DISASSEMBLY The clamp can be easily dismantled for cleaning and inspection. - Remove the locking nuts and bolts. - Remove the lifting shackle and take apart the various components. - Check all bolts and distance bushings. - Clean all parts with a standard degreasant. - Assemble all the parts in reverse order. - Always use new and original locking bolts. - When replacing parts always use original REMA components. - Remove any burr with a file. IF IN DOUBT CONTACT YOUR SUPPLIER 8. REVISION - At least once a year, or if occasioned by damage to the clamp, you should have the clamp inspected, tested and if necessary revised by REMA or another recognized mechanical repair centre. IF IN DOUBT CONTACT YOUR SUPPLIER 9. DISPOSAL - Once it has reached the end of its useful life the clamp can be treated as scrap iron, provided that the clamp is rendered unfit for use. 9
