INHOUD In deze gebruiksaanwijzing wordt uitleg gegeven over: De verschillende typen kaassnijmachines Hoe deze gebruikt dienen te worden Hoe onderhoud uitgevoerd dient te worden Wat te doen in geval van storing De Unika Kaashakker is in een viertal uitvoeringen leverbaar: 1 K-250 Het zogenaamde kleine model. Meslengte 250 mm. en met kogelknop. 2 W-250 Het kleine model waarbij in de mesbeugel een verwarmings-element is aangebracht waardoor de beugel en dus ook het mes wordt verwarmd en met kogelknop. Het voordeel van de verwarming is dat met name de jonge kaas beter wordt gesneden omdat de kaas minder kleeft. 3 W-300 Groot model met een verwarmd mes (zie ook: W-250) Meslengte 300 mm. en met kogelknop. 4 W-300 Groot model met een verwarmd mes (zie ook: W-250) Meslengte 300 mm. en met dwarsgreep. 2. INSTALLATIE De Unika kaassnijmachine moet op een stevige en rechte ondergrond worden geplaatst. Hierbij moet erop worden gelet dat de kaassnijmachine op de juiste werkhoogte staat. 2

3 WAARSCHUWING!!! NL Plaats de transformator NOOIT zodanig dat het 220V snoer beschadigd kan worden. De transformator mag NOOIT met vocht in aanraking komen. Voorkom beschadiging van de transformator. Zorg ervoor dat de transformator zijn warmte goed kwijt kan.het voordeel van de verwarming is dat met name de jonge kaas beter wordt gesneden omdat de kaas minder. Aansluiten transformator: Het verwarmingselement wordt met de transformator verbonden door de 12 Volt stekkers te verbinden (zie afbeelding) De transformator wordt eenvoudig op het lichtnet (220V/50Hz) aangesloten door de netstekker in het stopcontact te steken. Wanneer de transformator en het element juist zijn aangesloten zal op de transformator een controlelampje branden. 3. GEBRUIK Voorbereidingen - Voor het gebruik dient de kartonnen mesbescherming te worden verwijderd. Steek de netstekker in het stopcontact. (bij de W-250 en de WG 300) WAARSCHUWING!!! De Unika Kaashakker is voorzien van een uiterst scherp mes. Let erop dat u zich niet verwondt!!! Plaats uw vingers daarom altijd buiten het snijbereik van het mes. De mesbeugel van de kaassnijmachine zal binnen 15 tot 30 minuten warm worden. Voor het snijden van plakken kaas gaat men als volgt te werk: 1. Plaats de kaas op het kunststof plateau met de korst naar de klemplaat toe. 2. Stel met behulp van de stelknoppen de gewenste plakdikte in. 3. De mesbeugel goed achterover plaatsen en met één beweging de plak kaas snijden. Plakken één voor één aanpakken en de korstzijde afwisselend naar links en rechts op het papier o.i.d. leggen zodat er een gelijkmatige stapel ontstaat. WAARSCHUWING!!! Bij het snijden van kaas met een verwarmde kaassnijmachine moet men er op attent zijn dat het snoer van het verwarmingselement niet doorgesneden en/of beschadigd kan worden. Vervang altijd de draad als deze beschadigd is. Gebruik de Unika Kaashakker alleen voor het snijden van kaas. 3

4 NL Instellen van de dikteregelaar: De meest efficiente (en economische) manier om kaas te snijden krijgt men door het mes zo in te stellen dat de korst van de plak iets dikker wordt dan de andere kant van de plak. Op deze manier wordt de kaas rond gesneden en voorkomt men dat er kleine, moeilijk verkoopbare stukken kaas ontstaan. Om dit te doen zijn beide kanten van de dikteregelaar onafhankelijk van elkaar in te stellen. Indien nodig kan de snijdikte van de plak worden bijgesteld door de stelknoppen opnieuw naar wens in te stellen. 4. REINIGING WAARSCHUWING!!! Haal altijd de stekker uit het stopcontact alvorens de machine te reinigen. In verband met de geldende HACCP-regels dient de Unika kaashakker na gebruik gereinigd te worden. Let u daarbij op het volgende: Bij de verwarmde kaassnijmachines dient men er op te letten dat de stekker van het verwarmingselement uit de transformator of uit het stopcontact wordt genomen voordat de machine wordt schoongemaakt. De kaassnijmachine wordt het eenvoudigst schoongemaakt met water, afwasmiddel en een borstel. Bij het schoonmaken dient men vooral rekening te houden met de scherpte van het mes. 5. STORINGEN Hoewel de Unika Kaashakker met de meeste zorg is ontwikkeld en vervaardigd, is er altijd de mogelijkheid dat het apparaat niet naar behoren presteert. Een storing kan vaak met een simpele ingreep worden verholpen. De hieronder staande lijst geeft aan welke acties er ondernomen kunnen worden: 1. Het mes wordt niet warm: Indien controlelampje op de transformator brandt: Controleer de aansluiting tussen mesbeugel en transformator. Snoer tussen mesbeugel en transformator controleren Indien het controlelampje op de transformator niet brandt: Maak de stekker verbinding tussen de mesbeugel en transformator los en bevestig deze opnieuw. Indien het controlelampje nog steeds niet brandt: controleer de stekker en het snoer tussen transformator en stopcontact. De stoppen in de stoppenkast controleren 4

5 Indien controle lampje op de transformator nu wel brandt betekent dat, dat er : In het element is een kortsluiting opgetreden. Bestel een nieuw element NL WAARSCHUWING!!! Maak de transformator NOOIT open. Indien de transformator kapot is, kan deze niet meer worden gemaakt; er moet een nieuwe worden geplaatst. 2 Kaaskorst wordt op het kunststof plateau niet of niet goed afgesneden: Afstand tussen kunststof plateau en mes is te groot Mesbeugel zit los Mes zit los Mes is niet scherp 3 Dikte van de kaasplak is niet regelmatig: Mes is niet warm Mes zit los Mes is niet scherp Mesbeugel zit los 4) Machine blijft niet stevig staan: De voetjes zitten los of zijn niet aanwezig 6. REPARATIES Hieronder worden de reparaties weergegeven die u zelf kunt uitvoeren. 1 Vervangen van een element: Demontage: Stekker uit het stopcontact/transformator halen Inbusboutje A met bijgeleverde inbussleutel uit de mesbeugel draaien Draadklem B losdraaien en eraf halen Element uit de mesbeugel halen Element onder de mesbeugel doorhalen Montage: Nieuw element onder de mesbeugel doorhalen Element in de mesbeugel zetten Met inbusboutje element licht vastzetten. Let erop dat het inbusboutje het element klemt op de plek waar een groef in het element zit Draadklem B weer bevestigen Stekker in stopcontact/ transformator steken 5

6 NL 2 Vervangen van het mes: Verwijder de messchroeven Vervang het mes Draai de messchroeven enkele slagen aan Draai de messchroeven stuk voor stuk handvast Draai de messchroeven vast 3 Vervangen voetjes: Boor de popnagel met boor 4,2 mm uit Plaats het nieuwe voetje met ring en steek de nieuwe popnagel erdoor heen Zet de popnagel vast met een popnageltang WAARSCHUWING!!! Gebruik altijd de juiste popnagels in verband met de treksterkte van de popnagel. Gebruik altijd het juiste materiaal voor reparaties. U kunt deze bestellen bij Boska Holland. 4 Vervangen kunststof plateau: Draai beide bouten (sleutel 10) op de klemplaat los Verwijder het oude kunststof plaeau Plaats het nieuwe kunststof plateau. Zorg ervoor dat de kunststof plateau 1 mm. van het mes blijft Leg de klemplaat met de rand over de kunststof plateau Draai de bouten enkele slagen aan Plaats de rubbervulstukjes onder de bouten tussen de klemplaat en het frame Draai de bouten vast Alle reparaties die niet voorkomen in deze gebruiksaanwijzing kunnen alleen door gekwalificeerde vakmensen worden uitgevoerd. Neemt u in dit geval contact op met Boska Holland. 7. ONDERDELEN Hier worden de reparaties weergegeven die u zelf kunt uitvoeren. 6

CONTENTS In these operating instructions : The various types of Unika cheesecutters. How to use the Unika cheesecutters. Maintenance. Troubleshooting. The Unika Cheesecutter is available in 4 types: 1 K-250 The small type; length of the blade: 250 mm. ball knob. 2 W-250 The small type; with an electrically heated blade, ball knob. The advantage of a warm knife is that the blade slices more efficiently through cheese. 3 W-300 The large type; with an electrically heated blade, length of the blade: 300 mm. ball knob. 4 W-300 The large type; with an electrically heated blade, length of the blade: 300 mm. transverse hold. 2. INSTALLATION The Unika Cheesecutter should always be placed on a solid base. Please ensure that the Cheesecutter is placed at the correct height so that it is easy to work with. 8

9 WARNING!!! The transformer should never be placed in humid areas. Avoid placing the transformer in a way that the highvoltage-cable can be damaged. Make sure the transformer gets good ventilation Ensure not to damage the transformer EN The 12V element must be connected with the, Boska Holland delivered, transformer. Connect the plugs as shown: The transformer can easily be connected by putting the plug in the socket. (220V/50Hz) When the transformer and element are properly connected, the indicator light on the transformer will go on. 3. APPLICATION Preparations: Before usage remove the protective cardboard knife-wrapping. Plug in the socket (W-250 en de WG 300) WARNING!!! The Unika Cheesecutter is supplied with an extremely sharp blade! Please notice: never put your hands within reach of the blade!!! Within 15 to 30 minutes the knife will reach the correct cutting temperature. Cutting the cheese: Place the cheese on the plastic platform with the cheese crust pointed towards you. Adjust the desired slice thickness by rotating the black buttons. Put the blade in the highest position and slice the cheese in one movement. Receive the slices one by one and create a steady pile by switching the crust side from left to right with every slice. WARNING!!! In case of Unika models with heated blade (W-250 and WG-300), please ensure that the wire is never within range of the blade. Always replace the wire when it is damaged. Use the Unika Cheese Slicer only for cutting cheese. 9

10 EN Adjusting the slice thickness: The most efficient (and economic) way of cutting cheese is achieved by adjusting the slice thickness in such a way that the crust side of the slice is a big thicker than the other side of the slice. This way the cheese is cut round and can be avoided that one gets left with small, hard to sell pieces of cheese. To do so both sides of the knife can be adjusted individually. If necessary the thickness can be re-adjusted. 4. CLEANING WARNING!!! Be sure to unplug the device before cleaning. Always clean the Unika Cheese Slicer after usage. Please pay attention to the following details: In case of Unika models with heated blades, be sure to unplug the wall plug or the wire connection plug before cleaning the device. Clean the cheese cutter using water, detergent and a brush. While cleaning the device, please pay special attention to the sharp blade. 5. TROUBLESHOOTING Although the Unika Cheese Slicer has been manufactured with utmost care, there will always be a possibility that the device is not working as it should. A malfunction can often easily be fixed. This list consists of possible actions, in case of malfunction. 1. The knife does not heat up: When the indicator light on the transformer lights up: Check the connection between the device and the transformer for defaults. Check the cable between the device and transformer for defaults. When the indicator light on the transformer does not light up: Unplug the device from the transformer and reconnect it. When the indicator light on the transformer still does not light up: check the plug and wire between the tran sformer and the wall socket for defaults. Check the fuses in your fuse box. 10

11 When the indicator light does work after this, that means that the heating-element itself is malfunctioning. Order a new heating-element. EN WARNING!!! Never try to open the transformer. When the transformer is not working anymore, it cannot be fixed anymore. A new transformer is needed. 2. The cheesecrust is not cut off in a properly. The distance between the plastic platform and the blade is to large. The blade-arm is loose. The blade is loose. The blade is not sharp enough. 3. The thickness of the cheese slice is not even: The blade is not warm enough. The blade-arm is loose. The blade is loose. The blade is not sharp enough. 4. The machine does not stand solid on its feet: The black anti-slip buttons on the bottom of the device are loose or are missing. 6. REPAIRS In this chapter you will find different sorts of repairs that can be done yourself. WARNING!!! Never try to open the transformer. When the transformer is not working anymore, it cannot be fixed anymore. A new transformer is needed. 1. Replacing the heating-element Dismantlement: Take the plug out of the wall socket/transformer. Remove bold A using the included wrench. Remove wireholder B. Take the element out of the blade-arm. Remove the element from the device. 11

12 EN Montage: Insert the element into the blade-arm. Fasten the element tightly. The bold has to touch the element on the marked (read: carved) spot. Attach wireholder B. Insert the plug in the wall socket/transformer. 2. Replacing the blade: Take out the screws that are inserted in the blade. Remove the blade (mind your fingers, the blade is still very sharp!!). Take the new blade and attach this to the blade-arm by reversing the procedure. 3. Replacing the black anti-slip buttons: Remove the pop rivets with an electric drill using a 4.2 mm. drill. Place the new anti-slip buttons and attach them with new pop rivets. 4. Replacing the plastic plate: Remove the bolds from the plate using a socket wrench. Remove the old plastic plate (make sure the distance between the plate and the blade is 1 mm.). Place the new plastic plate under the rim of the holding plate. Fasten the bolds lightly. Place the rubber fittings under the bolds between the holding plate and the frame. Fasten the bolds tightly. 7. PARTS 12
