2 WARNINGS This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; farm houses; by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; bed and breakfast type environments. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected. WARNING: Position the lid so that steam is directed away from the handle. WARNING: Do not remove the lid while the water is boiling. The kettle is only to be used with the stand provided. CAUTION: Insure that the kettle is switched GB-1

3 off before removing it from its stand. The appliance must not be immersed. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years. Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. For the details on how to clean surfaces in contact with food and descaling please see GB-2

4 section Cleaning and descaling on page GB-5. WARNING: Risks of injuries if you don't use this appliance correctly. The heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use. WARNING: Avoid spillage on the connector. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Read all instructions before operating the appliance and keep them for future reference. Do not use the kettle to heat anything other than water. Never fill the kettle beyond the maximum level indication. Always turn off and unplug the appliance from the mains socket when not in use and before cleaning. Do not move the kettle during the heating process. Do not open the kettle lid when in operation. Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. Do not place anything on top of the lid. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may result in fire, electrical shock or injury. Do not use outdoors. Be careful when opening the lid immediately after the water has boiled, the steam coming out of the kettle is very hot constituting a risk of scalding. Make sure the bottom of the kettle and the power base are dry before placing the kettle onto the power base. GB-3

Power base 6 7 OPERATION Before first use, it is recommended to operate the kettle for 2 to 3 times following the instructions below. This will remove any dust or residues remaining from the manufacturing process. 1. Place the power base on a dry, flat and stable surface. 2. Open the lid by pressing the lid release button and the lifting the lid upwards. 3. Fill kettle with desired amount of cold water. Always fill the kettle between the minimum and maximum marks on the water level window. 4. Close the lid by pressing it down until it clicks into place. 5. Place the kettle on the power base and insert the plug into the mains socket. 6. Press the power switch. The water is being heated. The indicator light on the power switch will illuminate. 7. The kettle will switch off automatically when the water has boiled. GB-4

6 The indicator light will go out. You can stop the boiling process by setting the power switch to the OFF position. 8. Lift the kettle from the power base and then slowly pour the boiling water. NOTE: Use the kettle only when the lid is closed. Cut-out for boil-dry protection If you operate the kettle without water, the kettle will stop heating and automatically switch off. If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool before filling with cold water and re-boiling. CLEANING AND DESCALING Always switch off and unplug the appliance from the mains socket and allow it to cool down before cleaning. Clean the exterior of the kettle and the power base using a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly. Clean the interior of the kettle with a soft sponge and warm, soapy water. If you hand does not fit in the lid opening, swish warm, soapy water around inside the kettle with the lid closed. Rinse any remaining soapy water from the kettle. Do not use any abrasive or chemical cleaning agent. Never immerse the kettle and the power base in water. Regularly descale the kettle using a specific descaler. 11 sur le connecteur. MISES EN GARDE IMPORTANTES Lisez le mode d'emploi dans son intégralité avant d'utiliser l'appareil et gardez-le afin de pouvoir vous y référer ultérieurement. N'utilisez pas cette bouilloire pour faire chauffer quoi que ce soit d'autre que de l'eau. Ne remplissez jamais la bouilloire au-delà du trait maximum. Éteignez et débranchez toujours l'appareil de la prise électrique après usage et avant de le nettoyer. N'essayez pas de déplacer la bouilloire pendant qu'elle chauffe. N'ouvrez pas le couvercle de la bouilloire pendant qu'elle chauffe. Ne laissez pas le câble d alimentation pendre du haut d'une table ou d'un plan de travail, ni entrer en contact avec une surface chaude. Ne posez rien sur la bouilloire. L utilisation d accessoires autres que ceux recommandés par le fabricant peut être à l origine d un incendie, de blessures ou de chocs électriques. Ne pas utiliser en extérieur. Les jets de vapeur sont très chauds et constituent un risque de FR-10

12 brûlure: Faites très attention lors de l'ouverture du couvercle une fois l'eau portée à ébullition. Avant de mettre la bouilloire sur son socle, assurez-vous que le dessous de la bouilloire et le socle lui-même sont secs. DESCRIPTION Bec verseur 2. Couvercle 3. Bouton d'ouverture du couvercle 4. Socle d'alimentation UTILISATION Avant la première utilisation, il est recommandé de faire fonctionner la bouilloire à 2 ou 3 reprises (voir instructions ci-dessous). Cela permet d enlever la poussière et les résidus de fabrication. FR-11

13 1. Placez le socle sur une surface plane, stable et sèche. 2. Appuyez sur le bouton d'ouverture du couvercle puis relevez celui-ci. 3. Remplissez la bouilloire de la quantité d'eau froide souhaitée. Remplissez toujours la bouilloire entre les traits minimum et maximum de l'indicateur de niveau d'eau. 4. Refermez le couvercle en appuyant jusqu'à ce qu'il se verrouille. 5. Placez la bouilloire sur son socle, puis branchez celui-ci à une prise électrique. 6. Appuyez sur le bouton marche/arrêt. L'eau commence à chauffer. Le témoin lumineux du bouton marche/arrêt s'allume. 7. Une fois l'eau portée à ébullition, la bouilloire s'éteint automatiquement. Le témoin s'éteint. Vous pouvez interrompre le processus à tout moment en mettant le bouton marche/arrêt en position d'arrêt. 8. Ôtez la bouilloire du socle d'alimentation et versez lentement l'eau bouillante. REMARQUE : La bouilloire ne doit pas être utilisée avec le couvercle ouvert. Dispositif anti chauffage à sec Si la bouilloire est allumée sans eau à l'intérieur, elle s'arrête de chauffer et s'éteint automatiquement. Si cela se produit, laissez la bouilloire refroidir, puis remplissez-la avec de l'eau froide et recommencez. FR-12

14 NETTOYAGE ET DÉTARTRAGE Eteignez et débranchez toujours l'appareil de la prise électrique et attendez qu'il ait refroidi avant de le nettoyer. Essuyez les surfaces externes et le socle avec un chiffon humide. Séchez bien. Nettoyez l'intérieur de la bouilloire avec une éponge et de l'eau chaude savonneuse. Si vous ne pouvez pas passer votre main par l'ouverture du couvercle, mettez de l'eau chaude savonneuse dans la bouilloire, refermez le couvercle et secouez-la. Puis rincez bien l'intérieur pour enlever toute l'eau savonneuse. N'utilisez pas des produits de nettoyage chimiques ou abrasifs. Ne mettez en aucun cas la bouilloire ou le socle dans l'eau. La bouilloire doit être régulièrement détartrée au moyen d'un produit détartrant spécifique. 16 WAARSCHUWINGEN Dit apparaat is bedoeld voor huishoudelijk en gelijkaardig gebruik, zoals: In personeelskeukens van winkels, kantoren en andere werkomgevingen Boerderijen Door klanten in hotels, motels en andere omgevingen van het residentiële type In omgevingen zoals van een bed-en-breakfast. Een beschadigd snoer mag uitsluitend worden vervangen door de fabrikant, een erkende reparatieservice of personen met gelijkwaardige kwalificaties om gevaar te voorkomen. Kokend water kan uit de kan worden gestoten wanneer de waterkoker te vol is. WAARSCHUWING: open het deksel zo dat de vrijkomende stoom altijd weg van de handgreep wordt gericht. WAARSCHUWING: open het deksel niet terwijl het water kookt. NL-15

17 Deze waterkoker mag uitsluitend worden gebruikt op de meegeleverde voet. VOORZICHTIG: controleer of de waterkoker is uitgeschakeld voordat u deze van de voet afneemt. Dompel dit apparaat niet onder in water. Dit apparaat kan worden gebruikt door kinderen vanaf 8 jaar als zij onder toezicht verblijven of instructies betreffende het veilige gebruik van dit apparaat hebben ontvangen en inzicht hebben in de gevaren die het gebruik ervan kan inhouden. Reinigen en gebruiksonderhoud mogen uitsluitend worden gedaan door kinderen ouder dan 8 jaar die onder toezicht staan. Houd het apparaat en het snoer ervan buiten het bereik van kinderen jonger dan 8 jaar. Dit apparaat kan worden gebruikt door personen met een beperkt lichamelijk, zintuiglijk of geestelijk vermogen of een gebrek aan ervaring of kennis als zij onder NL-16

18 toezicht verblijven of instructies hebben ontvangen betreffende het veilige gebruik van het apparaat en inzicht hebben in de gevaren die het gebruik ervan kan inhouden. Kinderen mogen niet met dit apparaat spelen. Verwijs naar het hoofdstuk Reinigen en ontkalken op pagina NL-20 voor details over het ontkalken en het reinigen van oppervlakken die in contact komen met levensmiddelen. WAARSCHUWING: gevaar van verwonding als dit apparaat niet correct wordt gebruikt. Het oppervlak van het warmte-element is na gebruik onderhevig aan restwarmte. WAARSCHUWING: mors geen vloeistof op de aansluiting. NL-17

19 BELANGRIJKE VEILIGHEIDSVOORZORGEN Lees de volledige gebruiksaanwijzing aandachtig voordat u dit apparaat in gebruik neemt en bewaar voor toekomstig gebruik. Gebruik de waterkoker voor niets anders dan het verwarmen van water. Vul de waterkoker nooit voorbij de maximale niveaumarkering. Schakel de stroom uit en haal de stekker uit het stopcontact wanneer de waterkoker niet wordt gebruikt en voor het reinigen. Verplaats de waterkoker niet terwijl hij is ingeschakeld. Open het deksel niet terwijl de waterkoker is ingeschakeld. Laat het snoer niet over de rand van een tafel of aanrecht hangen, noch in contact komen met zeer warme oppervlakken. Zet niets bovenop het deksel. Het gebruik van hulpstukken die niet door de fabrikant zijn aanbevolen kan leiden tot brand, elektrische schokken of verwonding. Niet buitenhuis gebruiken. Wees voorzichtig als u onmiddellijk nadat het water heeft gekookt het deksel gaat openen. De stoom die uit de waterkoker vrijkomt kan zeer warm zijn en houdt een gevaar van brandwonden in. Controleer of de onderkant van de waterkoker en de voet droog zijn voordat u de kan op de voet met stroomvoeding neerzet. NL-18

Voet met stroomvoeding 7 6 BEDIENING Voor de eerste ingebruikname is het raadzaam de waterkoker 2 tot 3 keer te laten werken volgens de onderstaande instructies. Zo worden alle stof en fabricageresten verwijderd. 1. Zet de voet met stroomvoeding neer op een droge, vlakke en stabiele ondergrond. 2. Open het deksel door te drukken op de losmaakknop van het deksel en het deksel op te tillen. 3. Vul de waterkoker met de gewenste hoeveelheid koud water. Vul de waterkoker altijd boven de minimummarkering en onder de maximummarkering op het venster met het waterpeil. 4. Sluit het deksel door ertegen te drukken tot het vastklikt. 5. Zet de waterkoker neer op de voet met stroomvoeding en sluit de stekker aan op een stopcontact. NL-19

21 6. Druk op de stroomschakelaar. Het water warmt op. Het controlelampje op de stroomschakelaar brandt. 7. De waterkoker schakelt automatisch uit wanneer het water kookt. Het controlelampje dooft dan. U kunt het verwarmen ook eerder stoppen door op eender welk ogenblik de stroomschakelaar naar de stand OFF (uit) te schakelen. 8. Til de waterkoker van de voet met stroomvoeding en giet voorzichtig het kokende water uit. OPMERKING: gebruik de waterkoker alleen wanneer het deksel is gesloten. Uitschakelen als bescherming tegen droogkoken Als u de waterkoker zonder water laat werken zal deze stoppen met opwarmen en automatisch uitschakelen. In dat geval moet u de waterkoker laten afkoelen voordat u hem vult met koud water en opstart. REINIGEN EN ONTKALKEN Schakel het apparaat altijd uit en haal de stekker uit het stopcontact. Laat het apparaat afkoelen voordat u het gaat reinigen. Reinig de buitenkant van de waterkoker en de voet met stroomvoeding met een goed uitgewrongen doek. Droog zorgvuldig. Reinig de binnenkant van de waterkoker met een zachte spons en een warm sopje. Als uw hand niet doorheen de opening in NL-20

22 het deksel kan, doet u wat warme sop in de waterkoker en zwiert dat in het rond met gesloten deksel. Spoel alle sop uit de waterkoker. Gebruik geen schurende of chemische reinigingsmiddelen. Dompel de waterkoker of de voet met stroomvoeding nooit onder in water. Ontkalk de waterkoker regelmatig met een speciaal daarvoor bestemde ontkalker. We moedigen u aan om de juiste verwijderingsprocedure voor uw apparaat en verpakkingsmateriaal te volgen. Dit draagt bij tot het behoud van de natuurlijke rijkdommen door deze te recyclen zodat zowel de menselijke gezondheid en het milieu worden beschermd. Gooi dit apparaat en de verpakking weg in overeenstemming met de geldende wetgeving en voorschriften. Aangezien dit apparaat elektronische componenten bevat moet het apparaat en toebehoren aan het einde van hun levensduur afzonderlijk van het huisafval worden weggegooid. NL-21

23 Neem contact op met uw gemeente voor informatie over afdanking en recycling. Lever het apparaat in bij het inzamelpunt van uw gemeente voor recycling. Bij sommige inzamelpunten kunt u het apparaat gratis inleveren.
