The Royal Conservatoire of the Artesis University College of Antwerp comprises three wellknown art colleges: the Royal Flemish Conservatoire, the Herman Teirlinck Institute and the Higher Institute for Dance. Internationally reputed artists are alumni of these institutions, which continue to provide high-quality education for future artists of the stage. The scope of the education is based upon the European Credit Transfer System: 60 ECTS study points per academic year. This is the equivalent of minimum 1500 and maximum 1800 hours of education and other study activities. This study is endorsed by a postgraduate diploma. They encounter the tradition of the art of dance and are stimulated to follow a creative and artistic path. Creativity and artistry can only develop where there is opportunity for communication, exploration and awareness. The training pays attention to both the performing and creating aspect and offers the possibility for individual exploration into movement.
