1 Jan Kees Boon [email protected] FACTSHEET RUSSIA FRESH FRUIT AND VEGETABLES RUSSISCHE IMPORT GROENTEN EN FRUIT: MARKT VAN 8 MILJARD DOLLAR Nederland levert veel eigen groenten en re-exporteert vooral fruit Rusland is een belangrijke afzetmarkt voor verse groenten en vers fruit. Jaarlijks is Russische markt goed voor een importwaarde van bijna 8 miljard dollar. In volume gaat het om ca. 8 miljoen ton. Vorig jaar is de import wel achtergebleven bij die in het recordjaar Die daling is toe te schrijven een de kleinere import van groenten en dan met name die van uien. De import van verse groenten stagneert in feite al sinds 2008 terwijl de import van vers fruit tot 2011 groeide en vorig jaar stabiliseerde (zie ook tabellen 1 en 3 t/m 6). Voor Nederland is de Russische markt van veel belang. Vorig jaar is de afzet van Nederlands product volgens KCB-cijfers echter fors gedaald. Als de KCB-registratie een juist beeld geeft is de daling van de export van Nederlands product van 192 naar ton geheel toe te schrijven aan de daling van de export van uien tabel 9). Naast Nederlands product worden er ook aanzienlijke hoeveelheden buitenlands product via Nederland naar Rusland vervoerd. Op basis van de statistieken is het lastig om een goed beeld te krijgen van de omvang van de totale handel tussen Nederland en Rusland. Aangezien de handel vooral via Litouwen loopt geeft de import van groenten en fruit (incl. re-export) uit Nederland in Litouwen het beste beeld van de hoeveelheden waar het om gaat. Volgens Eurostatcijfers ging het hierbij in 2012 om ton, ton groenten en ton fruit (tabel 15). Vrijwel alles hiervan zal op de Russische markt terecht zijn gekomen (Litouwen telt maar 3,5 miljoen inwoners en Rusland ruim 140 miljoen). 2 Russische productie stabiel Rusland zelf produceert op zich behoorlijke hoeveelheden, vooral groenten. Kool, tomaten, uien en peen zijn de belangrijkste producten. De fruitproductie is aanzienlijk kleiner en watermeloenen en appels zijn de twee grote producten. De productie is overigens de laatste jaren redelijk stabiel (tabel 2) Russia: Production fruit & vegetables in 1000 tons Vegetables Fruit Bij de totale import is fruit belangrijker dan groenten. De afgelopen jaren heeft de fruitimport een gestage groei te zien gegeven naar rond de 6 miljoen ton in de laatste jaren. De import van groenten kwam in 2011 ruim boven de 2 miljoen uit maar is vorig jaar gedaald Russia: Import fruit & vegetables (in tons) in tons Fruit Vegetables Fruit: Import vooral bananen en appels Bij fruit zijn appels en bananen de beide grote importproducten. In 2011 bereikte de import van bananen een voorlopig hoogtepunt. In 2012 werden er minder bananen ingevoerd. De import van appels was in 2012 juist het grootst en verdrong bananen van de eerste plek. Soft citrus, sinaasappels, peren, druiven, perziken/nectarines en citroenen zijn de producten die middenmoot vormen. Van deze producten was alleen de import van perziken in 2012 op z n top (tabellen 3 en 4 en 18 t/m 23). Bananen komen vrijwel uitsluitend uit Ecuador. Bij appels was er in 2012 sprake van een enorme groei van de import uit Polen. De import uit Moldavië en China en een aantal andere landen viel fors terug. Nederland is een kleine speler op de Russische appelmarkt en in 2012 was er ook sprake van een daling. Volgens het KCB liep de export van Nederlandse appels terug van ton in 2011 naar ton in Volgens de Russische importstatistiek werd er ton aan appels uit(via) 2

3 Nederland ingevoerd. De importstatistiek van Litouwen komt op een import uit/via Nederland van ton. Peren is het belangrijkste fruitproduct dat uit/via Nederland is Rusland wordt ingevoerd. Het KCB komt voor 2012 op een export van Nederlandse peren van ton. Netherlands: (Re-)export fresh fruit&veg to Russia (in tons) tons Re-export Dutch product Voor Nederland is de Russische groentemarkt echter belangrijker dan die van fruit. Vorig jaar viel de export van Nederlandse groenten sterk terug maar dat kwam geheel door de sterke terugval van de export van Nederlandse uien naar Rusland, 2011 nog ton en in 2102 nog maar ton. De export van andere Nederlandse groetenproducten naar Rusland laat de laatste jaren een heel licht dalende trend zien. Tomaten is de grootste van de rest en kwam voor het eerst in de buurt van de ton. Peen, wittekool en paprika s zijn op afstand de andere groente producten die naar Rusland gaan. De export van kool viel in 2012 sterk terug (tabel 9). De grote groenteleverancier van Rusland is echter Turkije maar het pakket dat dit land levert is heel smal. Driekwart bestaat uit tomaten (tabel 42). China s de tweede op de lijst. Vorig jaar viel de import uit dat land wel behoorlijk terug. Belangrijke producten die China levert zijn: tomaten, uien (in 2012 veel minder dan daarvoor), peen en knoflook. Israel en Polen gaan Nederland ook nog voor als leverancier. Israel is groot in peen en paprika s en Polen is groot in kool en champignons (tabellen 42 t/m 46).
