The Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) offers stylish facilities for such an occasion. The imposing and distinctive KIT building, which dates from 1926, has a large and small conference room and auditorium, an impressive reception area, a Marble Hall, and eight charming meeting rooms of varying sizes. These classically furnished reception areas and meeting rooms can be used individually or in combination with each other. All of the rooms have modern conference facilities and have been fitted out with professional audiovisual and ICT equipment.

For more than 80 years the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) building, which is situated right next to the Oosterpark, has been one of Amsterdam s architectural landmarks. The building, which was designed especially for KIT, stands out with its elaborate neo-renaissance style and numerous embellishments that are reminiscent of different cultures around the world and the colonial history of the Netherlands.

4 Marmeren Hal Bordes Onder de Bogen Marmeren Hal De imposante achthoekige Marmeren Hal de entree van het gebouw ligt centraal ten opzichte van alle overige zalen en is zeer geschikt als ontmoetingsen netwerkruimte. Ook is dit een stijlvolle gelegenheid voor diners en recepties. The imposing octagonal Marble Hall which serves as the foyer to the KIT building is the central point from which all the other meeting rooms radiate and is ideally suited as a reception area or networking venue. It is also an elegant choice for dinners and receptions.

5 Bordes Onder de Bogen Het bordes verbindt de Marmeren Hal met de Grote Zaal. Een uitstekende locatie voor een koffie/ theebreak, lunch, diner of borrel. The Gallery links the Marble Hall with the Main Auditorium. It is an excellent place for coffee and tea, or for lunch, dinner or drinks. Deze lichte en stijlvolle ruimte ligt tussen de Marmeren Hal en de kleinere vergaderruimtes. Een ideale ruimte voor een koffie/ theebreak, receptie of een Eating Meeting buffet. Ook voor lunches met kleine groepen. Underneath the Arches is a brightly-lit, elegant venue located between the Marble Hall and the smaller meeting rooms. It is an ideal place to have coffee and tea, a reception, or a meet-and-greet buffet. A small group could very easily have lunch here too.

6 Grote Zaal Grote Zaal Een fraai uitgevoerd auditorium met een vaste theateropstelling en een groot podium. Geschikt voor openingen en plenaire onderdelen van congressen, symposia en bedrijfspresentaties. The Main Auditorium is a beautifully decorated auditorium, which serves as a permanent theatre, and is suitable for inaugural and plenary sessions of conferences, symposia and company presentations.

De Mauritszaal en de Leeszaal zijn het grootst en geschikt voor lezingen en debatten. Zes fraaie vergaderruimtes zijn aan één gang gelegen en deels met elkaar verbonden door tussendeuren. Ideaal voor trainingen, vergaderingen, presentaties en workshops, bijvoorbeeld bij een congres. In deze brochure krijgt u een kijkje in drie van deze zes ruimtes: Raadzaal, Regentenkamer en Emmazaal. KIT offers a broad choice of meeting venues, each one with its own unique features and services. The Maurits Chamber and the Reading Room are the largest and are suitable for lectures and debates. Six elegant meeting venues are located along the same corridor and are partially linked to one another with adjoining doors. They are ideal for training courses, meetings, presentations and workshops, in conjunction with a conference, for example. This brochure offers you a brief glimpse of three of the six venues: the Council Chamber, the Regency Chamber and the Emma Chamber. The Council Chamber has a very special atmosphere thanks to its ornately decorated fireplace. 8 Emmazaal Regentenkamer De Emmazaal is een zeer lichte en ruime zaal waar verschillende opstellingen mogelijk zijn. The Emma Chamber is a spacious venue with an abundance of natural light and is able to accommodate a variety of activities. Een intieme ruimte aan de binnentuin, zeer geschikt voor een vergadering of besloten lunch. The Regency Chamber is a cosy, intimate venue next to the indoor garden; ideally suited for a meeting or private lunch.

9 Mauritszaal Leeszaal Deze rustige sfeervolle zaal is een uitstekende ruimte voor onder andere lezingen, discussieprogramma s, vergaderingen, presentaties, persconferenties of een huwelijk. The Maurits Chamber is a tranquil meeting room with its own unique atmosphere and is an excellent venue for symposia, discussions, meetings, presentations, press conferences or a wedding. De karakteristieke Leeszaal van de KIT Bibliotheek is uitermate geschikt voor vergaderingen, lezingen en debatten. KIT Library s distinctive Reading Room is ideally suited for meetings, symposia and debates.
