Naast schilder was hij een groot kunstverzamelaar. Mesdag liet een museum bouwen voor zijn uitzonderlijke collectie, dat talloze meesterwerken van de Franse School van Barbizon en de Haagse School van de 19de eeuw bevat. De Mesdag Collectie bestaat uit het woonhuis en het museum, een intiem gebouw met een exclusieve sfeer. In elke kamer waant u zich in de 19de eeuw. On the Laan van Meerdervoort lies the former residence of Hendrik Willem Mesdag ( ), the famous Dutch marine painter. In addition to being a painter, Mesdag was also a great art collector. He had a museum built to house his extraordinary collection, which contains numerous masterpieces of the French Barbizon School and the 19th-century The Hague School. The Mesdag Collection comprises the Mesdag residence and the museum, an intimate building that oozes exclusivity from every corner. 4 Vergaderruimte / Conference room Diner locatie / Diner location Zalen in Mesdags woonhuis Mesdags woonhuis bestaat uit twee zalen: de Tuinzaal en de Colenbranderzaal. De Tuinzaal, bestaande uit twee aaneengesloten ruimtes, bevindt zich op de begane grond. De grote ramen kijken uit op de spectaculaire tuin. Deze zaal was voorheen de ontvangstruimte van het echtpaar Mesdag. De Colenbranderzaal bestaat eveneens uit twee aaneengesloten ruimtes op de eerste verdieping met een prachtig uitzicht op de tuin en de toren van het Vredespaleis. Deze zaal was voorheen het atelier van Mesdag.. Rooms in the Mesdag residence Mesdag s private home consists of two rooms, the Garden room and the Colenbrander room. The Garden room, two adjoining rooms, are on the ground floor and have large windows with a view onto the spectacular garden. This room used to be the reception room of the Mesdags. The Colenbrander room also consists of two adjoining rooms. Located on the first floor, these rooms provide magnificient views of the elegant garden and Peace Palace tower. This room used to be the studio of Mesdag.

Een zaal huren in De Mesdag Collectie biedt u de uitgelezen kans om uw vergadering of evenement te combineren met een bezoek aan de bijzondere collectie. Mesdags tuin is een sfeervolle plek waar u kunt ontspannen onder de imposante boom die nog stamt uit Mesdags tijd. De tuin is een uitstekend decor voor een fotoreportage. Renting one of The Mesdag Collection s rooms is the perfect opportunity to combine your conference or event with a visit to our unique collection. The garden is a haven of tranquillity, and the imposing tree that dates back to Mesdag s time is the perfect spot to relax. The garden is the perfect setting for a photo shoot.
