De geïntegreerde handgreep benadrukt de elementaire vorm met een duidelijke functionaliteit. De beheersing van water is instinctief en ergonomisch. Door zijn ingetogen uitstraling vormt Andrew de essentie van de beleving van water. Une forme pure et un caractère intemporel caractérisent le design d Andrew. La poignée intégrée souligne sa forme élémentaire avec une fonctionnalité claire. Le contrôle de l eau est instinctif et ergonomique. Son aspect minimaliste permet à Andrew de refléter l essence et l expérience de l eau. A vocabulary of purist forms lends the Andrew design its timeless character. The integrated handle emphasises the form of the element whilst clearly preserving its function. Flow control is instinctive and ergonomic. With its understated allure, Andrew represents the experience of water in its very essence.

DESIGNERS Co.Studio, opgericht in 1998 in Antwerpen, legt zich toe op interieurontwerp en architectuur met gerelateerd productdesign. De ontwerpers streven naar sterke, tijdloze ontwerpen met een doordachte en gedetailleerde beeldentaal, steeds herleid tot de pure essentie. Dit streven zit vervat in elk ontwerp van het designersduo, Christian Van Suetendael en Gert Van den Steen. Andrew is geboren uit een gemis dat wij ervaren in onze zoektocht naar een hedendaagse en karaktervolle kranenlijn voor onze projecten. Als ontwerpers hebben wij een duidelijk beeld van de lichtheid en de puurheid waarnaar we verlangen. We vonden geen antwoord in het huidige aanbod. In samenwerking met rvb hebben we onze wens kunnen materialiseren, licht Christian toe. Andrew vormt een totale collectie ingetogen en geïntegreerde oplossingen aangepast aan diverse situaties. Het gamma is beschikbaar in verschillende kleurafwerkingen. Steeds getypeerd door een pure vormgeving en de betrouwbare kwaliteit van rvb. We zochten een krachtige minimalistische vorm. Onze beeldtaal vertaalt zich als tijdloos en is altijd herleid tot de essentie, bevrijd van alles wat overbodig is. Zo is de handgreep totaal geïntegreerd in de vorm, wat niet enkel functioneel is, maar uiteindelijk ook zijn pure vorm bepaalt, aldus Gert over het design. Co.Studio, founded in Antwerp in 1998, specialises in interior design and architecture with the associated product design. The designers aim for strong, timeless pieces with a sophisticated and detailed image, always reduced to their pure essence. This intention is encapsulated in every design created by the duo Christian van Suetendael and Gert van den Steen. Andrew was born from the sense that something was lacking in our search for a contemporary line of taps full of character for our projects. As designers, we have a clear image of the lightness and purity we want. The existing possibilities did not respond to our needs. Working closely with rvb, we were able to make our wishes a reality, Christian explains. Andrew is a total collection of understated, integrated solutions adapted to various situations. The range is available in various colour finishes, and is always characterised by a purity of form and rvb s reliable quality standard. We were looking for a strong, minimalist form. Our design language translates into timeless pieces that are always stripped back to their essence, freed from all superfluous elements. For example, the handle is completely integrated into the shape of the tap, which is not just a functional feature but ultimately determines the purity of its form as well, Gert tells us. Co.Studio, fondé en 1998 à Anvers, est spécialisé dans l architecture d intérieur et l architecture avec la recherche d un produit au design adapté. Les designers misent sur des créations fortes et intemporelles aux représentations détaillées et bien pensées, toujours réduites à l essentiel. Cette aspiration se retrouve dans chaque création du duo de designers formé par Christian Van Suetendael et Gert Van den Steen. «Andrew est né d un manque rencontré lors de nos recherches portant sur une gamme de robinets contemporains et uniques pour nos projets. En tant que designers, nous avions une idée claire de la légèreté et de la pureté que nous visions. L offre existante ne nous offrait cependant aucune réponse satisfaisante. En collaboration avec rvb, nous avons donc pu concrétiser notre souhait», explique Christian. Andrew forme une collection totale de solutions sobres et intégrées, adaptées à diverses situations. La collection est disponible dans plusieurs finitions de couleur et est toujours caractérisée par une forme pure et la qualité irréprochable de rvb. «Nous cherchions une forme minimaliste et puissante. Notre concept visuel se veut intemporel et renvoie toujours à l essence même, sans élément superflu. Aussi, la poignée est entièrement intégrée dans la forme du robinet, ce qui offre un aspect fonctionnel, tout en définissant sa forme pure», souligne Gert à propos du design. www.costudio.be 5

COMPANY Toen Co.Studio de eerste tekeningen en modellen van de Andrew-collectie voorstelde, viel het design van architectenduo Christian Van Suetendael en Gert Van den Steen, met zijn sterk puristische en tegelijkertijd originele stijl, bij rvb meteen in de smaak. De bedenkers van het project streefden de allerhoogste vereisten na. Het R&D-team van rvb, gewend aan technologische uitdagingen, was dan ook van meet af aan enthousiast. Louis-Philippe Gillieaux, verantwoordelijke projectbeheer: We stonden voor de taak om complexe mechanismen te integreren in een product dat tegelijkertijd uiterst ergonomisch en gevoelig moest zijn. Dat was een hele uitdaging. Daarnaast moesten we voldoen aan de strenge vereisten van het merk qua betrouwbaarheid, en de kranen moesten ook gemakkelijk te installeren zijn voor professionele installateurs. rvb, Belgisch fabrikant van kraanwerk sinds 1935, gaat voortdurend op zoek naar nieuwe oplossingen voor het ontwikkelen van origineel en hoogwaardig kraanwerk. Het merk combineert een minutieuze selectie van edele materialen, zoals massief messing, met een afwerking van topkwaliteit. Lors de la présentation par Co.Studio des premiers dessins et maquettes de la collection Andrew, rvb a été immédiatement séduit par le style à la fois original et très épuré du design proposé par les architectes Christian Van Suetendael et Gert Van den Steen. D emblée, le degré d exigence auquel aspiraient les concepteurs du projet ne pouvait qu enthousiasmer l équipe R&D de rvb habituée aux défis technologiques. Comme le souligne Louis-Philippe Gillieaux, responsable de la gestion du projet «La difficulté consistait à intégrer des mécanismes complexes dans un produit, à la fois très ergonomique et sensitif, en respectant les normes élevées de fiabilité de la marque et en offrant une installation aisée pour les professionnels». En tant que fabricant belge de robinetterie depuis 1935, rvb innove avec le souci constant de développer une robinetterie originale et haut de gamme, alliant une sélection rigoureuse de matériaux nobles comme le laiton massif et des finitions de qualité irréprochable. When Co.Studio presented the first sketches and models of the Andrew collection, rvb was immediately seduced by the combination of originality and refinement in the style proposed by the designers, Christian van Suetendael and Gert van den Steen. Right from the start, the exacting requirements of the project designers inspired rvb s R&D team, who are well accustomed to technological challenges. As Louis-Philippe Gillieaux, the project manager, makes clear, the difficulty lay in integrating complex mechanisms into a product that was both sensitive and highly ergonomic, whilst respecting the brand s high reliability standards and ensuring easy installation for professionals.
