CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL EXAMINATIONS International General Certificate of Secondary Education MARK SCHEME for the May/June 2013 series 0515 DUTCH (FOREIGN LANGUAGE) 0515/02 Paper 2 (Reading and Directed Writing), maximum raw mark 65 This mark scheme is published as an aid to teachers and candidates, to indicate the requirements of the examination. It shows the basis on which Examiners were instructed to award marks. It does not indicate the details of the discussions that took place at an Examiners meeting before marking began, which would have considered the acceptability of alternative answers. Mark schemes should be read in conjunction with the question paper and the Principal Examiner Report for Teachers. Cambridge will not enter into discussions about these mark schemes. Cambridge is publishing the mark schemes for the May/June 2013 series for most IGCSE, GCE Advanced Level and Advanced Subsidiary Level components and some Ordinary Level components.

Use of a limited range of verbs, generally successful. More accuracy than inaccuracy. 4 Basic vocabulary and structure. Some awareness of verb usage, but inconsistent. The writing is sufficiently accurate for meaning to be conveyed. 3 Very basic vocabulary and structure. Little awareness of verb usage (e.g. infinitives regularly used instead of finite verbs). Despite regular errors, the writing often conveys some meaning. 2 A few phrases or short sentences are accurate enough to be recognisable. Very simple sentence structure. 1 Disjointed words or short phrases, one or two of them accurate enough to be comprehensible. 0 Nothing accurate enough to be comprehensible. [Total: 15]
