1 PERSINFORMATIE GALERIE OSCAR DE VOS BRAFA 2016 Galerie Oscar De Vos toont een uitzonderlijke selectie van Belgische Kunst, exclusief ter gelegenheid van BRAFA De kunstwerken zijn van bijzondere artistieke waarde, museale kwaliteit en monumentaal formaat. De schilderijen zijn talrijke keren in internationale musea tentoongesteld waaronder in Frankrijk, Italië, Japan, Luxemburg, Nederland en USA. De kunstwerken zijn geselecteerd op basis van hun historische, internationale invloeden en hebben een bijzondere link met de internationale kunststromingen uit de periode , waaronder: - het Belgisch luminisme via het Franse Impressionisme dat zich toont in Emile Claus geliefde schilderij De Wilgen (1898) en Zonseffect op de Theems (1918), en in het Vrouw aan het venster (1909) van Léon De Smet; - het Franse Kubisme en het Duitse Expressionisme dat van invloed is op het Belgisch Modernisme dat monumentaal is uitgewerkt in De Arme (1925) van Frits Van den Berghe; en - het Belgisch Expressionisme dat midden jaren 1920 in het oeuvre van Hubert Malfait met Zondagnamiddag (1925) een absoluut hoogtepunt kent.

2 PRESS INFORMATION GALLERY OSCAR DE VOS BRAFA 2016 Gallery Oscar De Vos shows an exceptional selection of Belgian art, exclusively on the occasion of BRAFA The artworks are selected for its high artistic value, museum quality and monumental size. The paintings have been exhibited numerous times in international museums including France, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and USA. The artworks are selected on their historical, international influences and all have a special link with the international art movements from the period ,including: - The Belgian luminism by French Impressionism which shows itself in Emile Claus' beloved painting "The Willows" (1898) and "Sun effect on the Thames" (1918), and the "Woman by the Window" (1909) by Léon De Smet; - French Cubism and German Expressionism which affects the Belgian Modernism, monumental elaborated in "The Poor" (1925) by Frits Van den Berghe; and - The Belgian Expressionism in the mid-1920s in the work of Hubert Malfait with "Sunday afternoon" (1925) has an absolute highlight.
