16 Assist current boost factor Deze instelling is een speciale instelling voor PowerAssist. Wanneer de Multi aan het laden is en de stroomsterkte door een plotselinge belasting de limiet van de ingangsstroom van de AC overschrijdt, schakelt de Multi over naar PowerAssist. Op dat moment is de benodigde extra stroom onbekend. De Multi maakt een aanname van de grootte van deze stroom. Deze aanname is gelijk aan de grenswaarde van de AC-ingangsstroom vermenigvuldigd met deze instelling voor " Assist current boost factor ". De standaardfactor is twee. Dit voorkomt dat de zekering wordt opgeblazen, omdat de stroom die de omvormer levert, minus de stroom die door de belasting wordt getrokken, altijd lager is dan die van de zekering.

20 Generators When the sine wave is of good quality, the Inverter of the MultiPlus will hook up on it, thus allowing a synchronised and fast transfer when the generator stops. Many generators have ill-shaped sine waves, in particular during sudden load changes. In these situations, the MultiPlus will disconnect frequently or not connect at all. 27 Weak AC input Weak AC input should be checked in cases where problems during charge arise. Some generators generate a waveform which makes it difficult to charge with the normal charge mechanism. ( or bad Cosinus Phi in a AC net ) If this option is checked another mechanism is used which will enable the device to charge under practically all conditions. Disadvantage of using this option is that the power factor will be less than 1. Note: This option has no effect on the charge characteristic.

29 ADAPTIVE BATTERY CHARGING The absorption time of a Phoenix Charger or Phoenix Multi will adapt itself as follows: * after each period of bulk charge (= the charger has reached its maximum current) an absorption period of 5 times the bulk charge period will follow, with a maximum set at, for example, 4 hours. * A bulk charge of 5 minutes (battery was nearly fully charged) will result in an absorption charge of 5 x 5 = 25 minutes. * A bulk charge of 30 minutes will result in an absorption charge of 30 x 5 = 150 minutes, or 2,5 hours. * A bulk charge of 2 hours will result in the maximum absorption charge time of 4 hours. - When connected to a fully charged battery and switched on, no absorption charge will occur because the charge current will almost immediately drop off to a low level.

36 The restart to Bulk : DC voltage is relative to the float voltage The restart to Bulk : DC voltage is relative to the float voltage: for a 12V Non lithium: Float -1.3V with a maximum of 12.9V Lithium: Float -0.2V with a maximum of 13.5V There is also a delay depending on the difference between the limit and the DC voltage. The bigger the difference the smaller the delay. When de difference is 0.1V the delay is approx. 60 seconds. If the difference is 0.2V the delay is 30 seconds and so on.

37 Maximum absorption time If the charge curve is fixed then this setting is used to determine the absorption time.

38 Temperature compensated charging The temperature sense, connected to the battery pack, gives a change of positive or negative : + / - 2 volt and 0,02 volt per degrees of Celsius up or down from 20 degree environment temperature!

39 Voltage sense Voor het compenseren van eventuele kabel verliezen tijdens het laden kunnen twee sense draden worden aangesloten waarmee de spanning direct op de accu of op de min pool gemeten kan w orden. De Multi zal tijdens het laden van de accu de spanning val over de DC kabels compenseren tot max 1 Volt (1V over de plus aansluiting en 1V over de min aansluiting). Indien de spanningsval groter dreigt te worden dan 1V wordt de laadstroom zodanig begrensd dat de spanningsval beperkt blijft tot 1V.

46 Dynamic current limiter Bedoeld voor generatoren waarbij de wisselspanning wordt opgewekt met behulp van een statische omvormer (zogenaamde inverter generatoren). Bij deze generatoren wordt het toerental teruggeregeld wanneer de belasting laag is. Nadeel is dat de uitgangsspanning sterk zal zakken of zelfs helemaal w egvalt bij een plotselinge verhoging van de belasting. Meer belasting kan pas geleverd w orden nadat de motor op toeren is. Wanneer deze instelling op on gezet wordt zal de Multi beginnen met bijleveren op een lage stroom. Hierdoor krijgt de motor van de generator de tijd om op toeren te komen. Deze instelling wordt ook vaak toegepast bij klassieke generatoren die traag reageren op plotselinge belasting variaties.

47 Weak Ac - Derating of the power factor Some generators have a waveform which makes it difficult to charge with the normal charge mechanism. Through activating the "Weak AC input" function, another mechanism is used which will enable the MultiPlus to charge under practically any condition. Disadvantage of using this option is that the input power factor, will be degraded. cos φ- or factor between 0,9 and 1 is acceptable.

64 The Battery monitor The history data is stored in non-volatile memory, and will not be lost when the power supply to the BMV is interrupted. The BMV keeps track or useful data, such as: deepest discharge number of cycles lowest voltage

65 Dit fenomeen wordt de Peukert-efficiëntie genoemd. De capaciteit van een batterij wordt aangegeven in Ampère-uren. Een batterij welke in staat is een stroom van 5A voor een periode van 20 uur te leveren, wordt een capaciteit toegekend van 100Ah. De BMV meet continu de huidige stroomsterkte die in of uit de batterij vloeit, en berekent hieruit de hoeveelheid afgenomen of toegevoegde energie. Maar omdat de leeftijd, de ontlaadstroom en de temperatuur van de batterij de capaciteitswaarde beïnvloeden, kunnen we niet uitgaan van een eenvoudige Ampère-uren uitlezing. Wanneer namelijk diezelfde 100Ah batterij compleet wordt ontladen in 2 uur, levert dit een batterij capaciteit op van maar 56Ah. Dit betekent bijna een halvering van de batterij capaciteit. Als hierbij ook nog eens de batterij temperatuur te laag is, zal de uiteindelijke capaciteit nog lager uitvallen. Dit fenomeen wordt de Peukert-efficiëntie genoemd.

66 Battery Monitor BMV-712 Smart De BMV kan tevens een schatting geven van de hoeveelheid tijd die nog te gaan is onder de huidige batterij belasting. Deze tijd (time-to-go uitlezing) geeft aan wanneer de batterij opnieuw geladen moet worden. De BMV kan de actuele state-of-charge (gecompenseerd met Peukert rendement, laad rendement en temperatuur) weergeven. Het uitlezen van de actuele stateof-charge parameter is de beste manier om inzicht te krijgen in uw batterij status.

67 HOW TO CONNECT?

68 Charged-parameters : Op basis van de toenemende laadspanning en afnemende laadstroom kan worden besloten of de batterij volledig is opgeladen of niet.wanneer de Batterijspanning gedurende een vooraf bepaalde periode boven een bepaald niveau is terwijl de laadstroom gedurende eenzelfde periode onder een bepaald niveau ligt, kan de batterij als volledig opgeladen worden beschouwd. Geladen-parameters: In het algemeen is voor een 12V loodaccu van 12 V de parameter voltagecharged 13,2 V en de current-charged-parameters +/- 4,0% van de totale batterijcapaciteit. Een geladen-parameter-tijd van 4 minuten is voldoende voor de meeste batterijsystemen. En pas dan wordt er gesynchroniseerd!!

69 BMV will synchronize and give 100 % SOC Merk op dat door de accu regelmatig (minstens één keer per maand) maximaal te laden, de accu niet alleen synchroon blijft met de BMV; ook aanzienlijk capaciteitsverlies, dat leidt tot een verkorte levensduur van de accu, wordt voorkomen. Gebeurt dit niet, dan ontstaan er grote verschillen tussen de realiteit en de gemeten waardes. Ok voor Lithium met passief balanceren!!!!!

73 The BMV synchronizes too early In zonnesystemen met fluctuerende laadstromen kunnen de volgende gedaan worden om de kans te verkleinen dat de BMV voortijdig herstelt naar 100%. a) Verhoog de "geladen" spanning tot slechts iets onder de absorptie laadspanning (bijvoorbeeld: 14,2V in het geval van 14,4V absorptiespanning). b) Verhoog de "opgeladen" detectietijd en / of verlaag de staartstroom om een vroege reset te voorkomen als gevolg van voorbijgaande bewolking.

84 Using CCGX State of charge or Low Voltage in an Assistant The goal is to ignore / not ignore AC in or Start / stop the Generator : Unless the battery SOC or low battery voltage measured via the BMV falls below for example 50%. Configure the CCGX to close its relay when the SOC falls below 50%. Now the CCGX will close the relay when the battery SOC is below 50% and this signal can be connected to Aux1 or the temperature input on the Multi. Or 2 times in a month charging the battery to 100 % SOC With the timer function inside the CCGX.

85 Using CCGX State of charge or Low Voltage in an Assistant Het doel is om AC IN te negeren / niet te negeren in of de generator te starten / stoppen: Tenzij de batterij SOC gemeten via de BMV daalt onder bijvoorbeeld 50% of de te lage batterijspanning. Configureer de CCGX om het generator relais te sluiten wanneer de SOC onder 50% daalt of de spanning te laag wordt. Dan zal de CCGX het relais sluiten en dit signaal kan worden aangesloten op Aux1 of de temperatuuringang op de Multi en het net zal worden gecapteerd of de generator wordt gestart. Of 1 x per maand opladen van de batterij tot 100% SOC Met de timerfunctie in de CCGX.
