You are now in the process of tying up the loose ends and rounding off your studies (you might even have finished already). We should at any rate like to congratulate you on your achievement! Before you take the next step in your career, we would like to offer you some things that you may find useful. This pack contains several forms and general information that may be of use to you over the coming period: - General information - Form for termination of enrollment and refunding of fees - Information concerning your notebook At this point, you should consider the following: * Register for your final examination via the Internet at Please note the closing date for registration (one month before the examination date). The examination date is the date on which the Examinations Committee meets. * You must at any rate be enrolled on the date of your final oral examination and the date on which the Examinations Committee determines whether you have passed (the examination date). The examination date is also stated on your degree certificate. * A pass does not automatically terminate your enrollment. You must complete the form, which you can also use to request a refund of any excess fees paid and/or withdraw authorization for payment in installments. This form, which you will find in the envelop, should be sent with your student card and proof of enrollment to the Student Service Center. You may also submit the form and the cards in person. Ensure that you do so in the month prior to graduation. NB: no fees will be refunded for July and August.

3 Page 2 van 2 * If you had a secondary enrollment at any point during the year and received a receipt for the tuition fees paid here (Bewijs Betaald Collegegeld), don t forget to enclose the original receipt with your request for termination of enrollment, student card and proof of enrollment. * Your enrollment will be terminated with effect from the last day of the month in which your examination date falls (if you notify us in time that you wish to terminate your studies). Your request will be processed and any excess tuition fees refunded after the examination date. It is therefore possible that, even though you have submitted the form on time, another installment will be deducted from your account. This installment will of course be refunded along with the other excess fees. * You are not obliged to terminate your enrollment. You may prefer to remain enrolled until the end of the academic year, in order to arrange a secondary enrollment elsewhere for the rest of the year, perhaps. 5 Tips voor na je afstuderen Na je afstuderen zijn er een aantal praktische, maar wel belangrijke zaken waar je rekening mee moet houden. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan het regelen van een goede ziektekostenverzekering, een eventuele uitkering of een baan.we hebben een aantal zaken voor je op een rijtje gezet. Daarnaast geven we nog wat handige tips op het gebied van loopbaanondersteuning en mogelijkheden voor vervolgstudies in het buitenland. Verzekeringen Tijdens je studie aan de TU/e ontvang je studiefinanciering en heb je wellicht een studentenziektekostenverzekering afgesloten. Na je studie ontvang je geen studiefinanciering meer en houdt ook je verzekering op, mits je een (bij)baan hebt en deze behoudt. Het is verstandig om voor je diploma-uitreiking te starten met het inwinnen van informatie over de mogelijkheden voor een ziektekostenverzekering na je afstuderen. De voorwaarden zijn per individu, situatie of verzekeringssoort en verzekeraar verschillend geregeld. Voor een overzicht of vergelijking kun je kijken op: Uitkering Als je aanspraak wilt maken op een uitkering, ben je verplicht om je in te schrijven bij het Centrum voor Werk en Inkomen (CWI). Van hen ontvang je het aanvraagformulier. Je kunt recht hebben op een Algemene Bijstandsuitkering (ABW) van de Gemeentelijke Sociale Dienst. Wanneer je werkervaring opgedaan hebt, kun je ook recht hebben op een Werkloosheidsuitkering (WW). Hierbij wordt er gekeken naar je arbeidsverleden. Het soort uitkering is afhankelijk van het aantal werkjaren van de afgelopen 5 kalenderjaren voordat je werkloos werd. Voor meer informatie kun je terecht bij het UWV. Het UWV of de Gemeentelijke Sociale Dienst kun je in dit geval beschouwen als je werkgever. Je bent op deze manier ook verzekerd. Van hieruit wordt de brug naar de arbeidsmarkt geslagen. Voor vragen hierover kun je terecht op

6 Beurzen voor vervolgstudie of onderzoek in het buitenland De Europese Unie, de Nederlandse overheid, en allerlei stichtingen stellen verschillende beurzen voor vervolgstudie, stage en/of onderzoek in het buitenland beschikbaar. Hieronder vind je een beknopte selectie van beurzen, waarvoor je in aanmerking kunt komen na afronding van je masteropleiding. Leonardo da Vinci beurzen voor stages van afgestudeerden Het Leonardo da Vinci Programma stelt beurzen beschikbaar voor eenieder die beschikbaar is voor de arbeidsmarkt waaronder pas afgestudeerden. Een internationale stage-ervaring bij bedrijven en instellingen bevordert niet alleen je persoonlijke ontwikkeling, maar vergroot ook je kansen op de arbeidsmarkt. De stage moet plaatsvinden in een ander Europees land. Duur van de stage: minimaal 2 weken en maximaal 26 weken. Met een VSBfonds Beurs kun je na afronding van je masteropleiding, een studie in het buitenland volgen of onderzoek doen. De deadline voor aanmelding is jaarlijks 1 maart. Petri van de Vorst (STU/io) Telnr: io@tue.nl Kijk voor de exacte voorwaarden op: Meer informatie over studie of onderzoek en stage na afstuderen: Onderwijs en Studenten Service Centrum International Relations Office MF telnr: io@tue.nl Nuffic Studenten- adres maximaal een jaar lang behouden Na je afstuderen kun je er voor kiezen om jouw studenten adres per direct te laten vervallen of er nog maximaal een jaar na uitschrijving gebruik van te blijven maken. Om jouw keuze kenbaar te maken, moet je je als alumnus hebben geregistreerd bij Alumninet. Je kunt je registreren vanaf het moment dat je officieel geslaagd bent. Om je te registreren: ga naar en klik op `Registreren in Alumninet`. Hierna doorloop je een aantal stappen waarin je zal worden gevraagd je gegevens te controleren en/of in te vullen. Ongeveer twee weken nadat je je hebt uitgeschreven van de TU/e bij het Onderwijs en Studenten Service Centrum ontvang je een op je studenten adres, waarin staat uitgelegd hoe je het studenten adres kan behouden. Deze optie verschijnt pas in Alumninet nadat je deze mail hebt ontvangen. Deze optie is terug te vinden bij het tabblad privé adresgegevens onder het menu-item actualiseren gegevens. Vervolgens kun je bij het veld `beëindigen student adres` de keuze opgeven. Indien je bij Alumninet geen keuze kenbaar maakt, zal het student adres gelijktijdig met de overige accountrechten (owinfo-pincode, toegang tot home- en webdirectories) één maand na uitschrijven van de TU/e worden opgeheven. Let op! Je studenten is na deze maand verwijderd en kan niet meer worden teruggehaald.
