Our insurance expert at UCL St Luc mentioned : for Academic Clinical Trials Les capitaux assurés par les CUSL (Cliniques Universitaires St Luc) sont conformes aux montants qui sont souscrits par la plupart des hôpitaux, y inclus les hôpitaux universitaires. Pour mémoire notre contrat Amlin couvre 500.000 par participant et 2.500.000 par sinistre. En excédent, nous avons souscrit via HDI Gerling un complément de 5.000.000 par expérimentation et 10.000.000 par année d assurance. Even students performing Prospective Non Interventional Studies for their Master degree have an insurance covering EUR 500.000 per participant and EUR 2.500.000 per occurrence. When checking with EC Erasme and their insurer (Ethias), they confirmed that Erasme has an insurance which covers all the trials (independent of the type of trial) : 500.000 EUR per participant and 2.500.000 EUR per occurrence.

Moreover : * What about length of coverage? Our EC usually checks whether the insurance covers the trial for the length of the trial. In Italy : Pediatric Trials have to have a coverage of at least 10 years. Same for trials involving gene therapy, cellular therapy and radiopharmaceuticals. * What about coverage for the pregnant partner?

De : ccmo_ccmo [mailto:ccmo@ccmo.nl] Envoyé : jeudi 26 octobre 2017 17:17 Beste mevrouw De Hemptinne, Op basis van de Nederlandse Wet medisch wetenschappelijk onderzoek met mensen (WMO of WMOM) moet de sponsor/opdrachtgever van een onderzoek dat (mede) op Nederlands grondgebied wordt uitgevoerd zorg dragen voor twee verzekeringen: de WMO proefpersonenverzekering en een bewijs dekking aansprakelijkheid (eventueel in de vorm van een aansprakelijkheidsverzekering). Uw vraag betreft de eerste verzekering. De bedragen waarvoor de WMO proefpersonenverzekering dekking dient te bieden staan inderdaad vermeld in het Besluit verplichte verzekering bij medisch wetenschappelijk onderzoek met mensen 2015 dat in het Staatsblad is gepubliceerd. De bedragen, waarvoor de verzekering moet zijn gesloten, zijn op dit moment ten minste 650.000 euro per proefpersoon en ten minste 5.000.000 euro per onderzoek. Verricht de sponsor meer dan één onderzoek, dan is het verzekerde bedrag ten minste 7.500.000 euro voor de schade die zich per verzekeringsjaar door onderzoek heeft geopenbaard. Indien het onderzoek wordt uitgevoerd bij meerdere instellingen, dan moet de sponsor/opdrachtgever ervoor zorg dragen dat de schade van alle aan het onderzoek deelnemende proefpersonen is gedekt door dezelfde verzekeringsovereenkomst. Ik weet niet zeker of ik begrijp wat u bedoelt met het verzekerde bedrag per schadegeval. Ik vermoed dat een dergelijk bedrag niet is opgenomen in het Verzekeringsbesluit.
