2 WELKOM IN COEVORDEN! Welkom op de tweede Dag van de Binnenstad! Vandaag praten we u op de Weeshuisweide graag bij over de ontwikkelingen van onze mooie binnenstad. Ook vieren we graag samen met u het begin van de kerstweek met een gezellige Kerst sing-a-long waar verschillende artiesten mét u de mooiste kersliedjes gaan zingen. Natuurlijk is ook aan de innerlijke mens gedacht. De gezamenlijke horeca van onze binnenstad voorziet u graag van onder meer een lekker glas glühwein, een mooie kop koffie of een kom goed gevulde snert. Coevorden werkt aan een uitnodigend centrum waarin water, historie en gezelligheid centraal staan. Het programmabureau Binnenstad Coevorden stroopt de mouwen op voor de realisatie van een mooie uitnodigende historische binnenstad. Een plek waar het fijn wonen is en waar bezoekers zich thuis voelen en verrast worden door wat Coevorden allemaal te bieden heeft. Voordat het zo ver is, moet er veel werk verzet worden. Samen met ondernemers, Domesta en het Centrummanagement Coevorden bouwt de gemeente Coevorden aan de geschiedenis van later. Tijdens de Dag van de Binnenstad informeren we onze inwoners en andere belangstellenden over de ontwikkelingen in de binnenstad. Daarnaast wordt de door Jan Abbing gerestaureerde maquette van de vestingstad Coevorden onthuld. Er zijn Dickens-optredens in de winkelstraten en er is een speciaal programma voor kinderen. Zo komt onder andere Kabouter Plop naar Coevorden. Als afsluiting van de Dag van de Binnenstad is er een Kerst sing-a-long met K&M. Om uur vuurt het Exercitie Peloton Bourtange samen met de Schutterij van Koeverden met een kanon het startschot af. 3 De binnenstad is het kloppend hart van Coevorden. Goed om daar de schijnwerpers op te zetten. Klaas Lamberink voorzitter bestuur Centrummanagement In de gemeente Coevorden zijn we heel goed in staat tot het maken van sfeer. In de dorpen, maar ook in de stad Coevorden. We moeten het alleen nog wat meer doen. De bouwstenen zijn er al. De vestingstad, de historie en de betrokkenheid van veel mensen. Als we er als inwoners, ondernemers, organisaties, gemeente en provincie samen de schouders onder blijven zetten, gaat onze binnenstad een mooie toekomst tegemoet. De ontwikkeling van een binnenstad blijft altijd door gaan. Nu staan we op een kantelpunt om de Coevorder binnenstad toekomstbestendig te maken door versterking van de historische waarden. 5 RENÉ KARST Natuurlijk kent iedereen René van Duo Karst, het succesvolle duo waarbij hij samen met zijn moeder optrad en veelal zong in het Drents. Vorig jaar nog stond bijna de hele familie op de planken in een uitverkocht Theater Hofpoort met Kerst met Karst. Bij collega s wordt hij gezien als het best bewaarde geheim in het Nederlandstalige circuit. René verovert als zanger/ gitarist langzaam (maar zeker) heel Nederland. Liever te dik in de kist (het nummer dat hij samen met vriend en collega Stef Ekkel schreef) is natuurlijk dé hit van Een optreden van deze sympathieke zanger is een feestje met repertoire dat zeker niet standaard is. Vandaag zal hij een muzikaal intermezzo verzorgen tijdens de talkshow maar u ook verrassen met Nederlands kerstrepertoire tijdens de sing-á-long.

6 DILANA & JEFF ZWART Dilana begon haar carrière in Zuid - Afrika, maar verhuisde in de jaren 90 naar Nederland. Hier werd ze binnen 2 jaar een bekend gezicht in de pop- en rockwereld. Haar carrière ging verder in de VS. Het tv-programma Rockstar Supernova bracht haar in 2006 naar een nieuw hoogtepunt. De meeste mensen kennen Dilana nu van haar verpletterende optredens bij de Voice of Holland. Na alle jaren on the road woont zij tegenwoordig met man en dochter in Dalen, en daar zijn we trots op! Tijdens dit optreden wordt zij begeleid op gitaar door Jef Zwart. Jeff is cum laude afgestuurd aan het conservatorium van Hilversum en heeft daarna zes maanden aan het Musicians Institute in Los Angeles gestudeerd. Met zijn 25 jaar lesevaring geeft hij les aan jong en oud. Naast zijn lespraktijk treed hij op met Syb van der Ploeg, Nick en Simon en talloze anderen. Ook beschikt hij over eigen opnamestudio waar hij muziek creëert, produceert en mixt.

7 SCRUM Zes gedreven muzikanten met een voorliefde voor energieke, eerlijke en spontane folkmuziek, die elk optreden tot het uiterste gaan en er samen met het publiek voor zorgen dat iedereen met een voldaan gevoel huiswaarts kan keren. Dat is Scrum! De band bestaat uit: Léon (zang), Marco (bas, piano, accordeon), Robin (gitaar, mandoline), Oscar (drums), Fred (bagpipes, tinwhistle) en Corné (viool, mandoline) Inmiddels is Scrum al jaren vaste gast in het Coevorder theater en zijn de concerten altijd uitverkocht. Vanmiddag geven ze de sing-á-long een Schots/ Iers tintje met hun muziek en daarmee een gevoel van saamhorigheid.

8 HARM SPANG Natuurlijk mag lokaal talent vandaag niet ontbreken! De aanstormende Drentse zanger Harm Spang, zanger van het levenslied uit Coevorden, die als artiestennaam SPANG! genereerde weet dat Nederland muziekland aan zijn voeten ligt. Na de debuutsingle, die veel media-aandacht kreeg, heeft het publiek de zanger in de armen gesloten. Na dit succes kon een waardig vervolg niet uitblijven en dus is de nieuwe singel Hier ben ik inmiddels een feit en presenteert Harm deze overal vol trots en overgaaf. Voor deze sympathieke Coevordenaar zijn inmiddels vele muzikale deuren opengegaan. Zijn zangcarrière is op de rails gezet.

9 NOTEER IN UW AGENDA! WAT MOET ER GEBEUREN MET MARKT EN HAVEN? Noteer de startbijeenkomst alvast in uw agenda: 16 januari vanaf 14:30 uur. Het gaat nu echt gebeuren, we gaan aan de slag met een concreet plan voor Markt, Haven en Citadelpunt. Gemeente en Centrummanagement hebben architectenbureau De Zwarte Hond gevraagd het komende half jaar een ruimtelijk plan te maken. Hierin staat beschreven hoe Markt, Haven en Citaldelpunt er in de toekomst uit komen te zien. Dat kan alleen een goed plan worden als inwoners, ondernemers en andere betrokkenen met ons meedenken. Daarom organiseren we op woensdag 16 januari een startbijeenkomst. U kunt op twee manieren meedoen: 1. Met de werksessie Markt en Haven tussen 14:30 uur en circa 17:00 uur. U gaat dan in groepen aan de slag met toekomstscenario s; 2. Een bezoek brengen aan de informatiemarkt. U kunt dan tussen 14:30 uur en 20:00 uur op elk gewenst moment binnenlopen en daar uw ideeën inleveren. Als u mee wilt doen met de werksessie kunt, u zich opgeven via s.egberink@coevorden.nl. Het programma en informatie over de locatie krijgt u dan tijdig opgestuurd. Houd de website in de gaten voor actuele informatie.

10 SPECIAAL VOOR KINDEREN Op de Dag van de Binnenstad is er ook genoeg te doen en beleven voor kinderen! Kom je eigen broodje bakken bij het vuur en daarna natuurlijk lekker opeten Met dank aan Bakkerscafé De Loods voor het heerlijke deeg! Ontmoet namens Plopsaland Coevorden, Kabouter Plop bij de kindertent rond en uur. Tijdens deze meet & greet kan je natuurlijk ook met hem op de foto. In de kindertent mag jij tussen en uur je eigen wensvogeltje maken met het Kleurcollectief. Het Kleurcollectief bestaat uit José Vingerling en Gerard de Bruyne. José is tekenaar met fascinatie voor kleur. Ze geeft kinderen graag de ruimte om achter hun krijtje aan te gaan, te ontdekken en te leren van elkaar. Gerard heeft als tekenaar veel ervaring, opgedaan in het theater. Hij is altijd op zoek naar mogelijkheden om het tekenen heel dicht bij het publiek te brengen. En... hij kan ondersteboven tekenen! Wat wens jij voor jezelf, iemand uit je omgeving of voor Coevorden?

11 SING A LONG MET K&M K&M bestaat uit de zangeressen Karen en Monique. De afgelopen vier jaar hebben K&M met twee theathershows, Alvast Bedankt en Grote muil, dikke Lip succesvol in de Nederlandse theaters gespeeld. De stem van Monique van der Ster hoort u iedere dag op de radio. Zij zingt namelijk al jaren vele jingles en commercials in voor radio en televisie. Als één van de Frogettes, het koortje dat Rene Froger vocaal bijstaat, stond zij o.a. in Ahoy, de Arena en De Kuip. Ook maakte ze deel uit van de groep Jody s Singers, met wie ze bij menig groot Nederlands artiest de backing vocals heeft verzorgd. Zowel tijdens live concerten als op cd s is haar stem te horen in het achtergrondkoor(lee Towers, Gordon, Rob de Nijs, Boudewijn de Groot e.v.a.) Zij heeft in twee producties van de rockband Kayak meegewerkt, waaronder een hoofdrol in Nostradamus en leent ze haar stem aan diverse tekenfilmfiguren. Karen Levin stond jarenlang in diverse grote musicals, zoals Anatevka met Henk Poort en Carry Tefsen en My fair Lady met Vera Mann en Paul van Vliet (Joop van den Ende Theaterprodukties) en Larry met Joke de Kruijff (American Songbook) van Carré tot in het Luxortheater. Op haar 11e jaar vertolkte zij al een hoofdrol in de kinderopera Pollicino van het Rotheater. Zij studeerde in 1994 af aan het Rotterdams Conservatorium en later aan de Mountview Theatre School in Londen. Zij werkte samen in kleinere producties met Gerrie v.d. Klei, Marjorie Barnes en - in een mede door haarzelf geschreven theater-programma met musicalster Maaike Widdershoven. Tevens was zij jarenlang leadzangeres in verschillende bands met welke ze van Duitsland tot Japan heeft gespeeld.
