3 THE EXCITEMENT OF THE ROAD RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM is a highly developed wireless electronic training roller which, thanks to its interaction with the PC, can be used for various types of training on a bicycle: - Truly complete cycle simulation. The combination of electronics, informatics and mechanics makes training very professional and complete: informatics: the video of the course appears on the computer screen synchronised with the speed of the bicycle; electronics: the electronically controlled roller perfectly repeats the variations of the course, constantly adapting to the various parameters; mechanics: the new frame with Ritmo Feet allows the rider to stand up on the pedals and move just like on the road. - Complete and customisable training: it is now possible to create truly complete training programmes. Every cyclist can create training programmes according to 6 different types: power / distance. Predefined power segments of length preferred by the cyclist; power / time. Configurable time periods with power set by the cyclist; altimetry / distance. With this type of programme it is possible to copy the altimetrie profiles of any race; altimetry / time. Segments of settable duration that reach diverse heights; slope / distance. With this programme it is possible set courses with slopes of predefined lengths preferred by the cyclist; slope / time. A programme with time periods and slopes settable by the cyclist. - Appraisal test: the famous Conconi test (included in the software) is the test for appraising the anaerobic threshold, most used in the world of cycling. - Training Test: a programme that generates training courses of 4 weeks. The Training Test allows the cyclist to train in a specific way in order to maximise the effectiveness of training on the roller. A very complete programme but always very easy to use. In fact, at first start-up, the programme guides the user in creating his own profile, simplifying the first steps for quick use. Moreover, to further simply use, there is a section that explains all the functions with videos showing the various phases step by step. In this way, even far more involved operations the user is never left alone. Also the Conconi Test and the Training Test have a small description that appears the first times. In this way the user is facilitated in understanding the phases necessary for doing the tests correctly, in any case leaving the possibility of a more thorough understanding of the test with reading of the manual included.

4 Being wireless, it is extremely simple to install, as there are no wires between the computer and the various parts of the trainer, leaving the roller perfectly free. There is no pace sensor, as this model comprises the innovative sensorless technology, which means the roller is able to detect the pace with no need of installing a sensor on the bike frame, making assembly and dismantling even faster.

5 The technical characteristics of this roller make it a unique tool far indoor training: the high powers that the roller can generate (e.g. more than 1200 Watt at 40 Km/h) allow the correct simulation of slopes of up to 8-10%; the larger flywheel ensures exceptionally smooth pedalling even at high powers/slopes, therefore with high inertia values; the thicker roller in Elastogel (an exclusive material prepared in the Elite laboratories) that the wheel rests against, offers various advantages, reducing tyre wear and increasing quietness; the Ritmo feet allow the bicycle frame to oscillate like on the road; the Fast Fixing clamping system facilitates fitting the bicycle on the support frame and removing it, making this a quick, easy and safe operation, to be done with just one hand; the programme allows all aspects of training to be analysed and displayed, saving the results for future comparisons. All these features make the RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM a professional tool for indoor cycle training: a substitute for rides on rainy days, or in the evening when it is dark; it prepares the cyclist for the most important events even during the season and appraises the rider s progress. CHARACTERISTICS- HARDWARE Frame The frame reinforced with tubes of 50 mm diameter makes the bicycle+roller system very stable and safe in any situation and under any stress.

6 Clamping The Fast Fixing system improves the system for clamping the bicycle on the frame. This system is: safer: automatic locking of the lever does not require additional operations; easier: just lower the lever to complete clamp the bicycle on the support frame; quicker: the bicycle can be clamped/released with just one hand. Feet The Ritmo feet are an absolute novelty in the world panorama of training rollers. With this system, Elite introduces the possibility of moving just like on the road. Also it is possible to adjust the elasticity of the feet, adapting it to the various pedalling styles. The standard feet are also included in the pack.

7 Resistance unit The electronically controlled resistance unit is equipped with an Elastogel roller of larger diameter (40 mm). The larger diameter offers the following advantages: greater area of contact between the roller and tyre. This means that more power can be transmitted from roller to wheel and therefore less tyre slipping; less roller revolutions (at equivalent speed) and therefore less tyre wear and increased quietness. The material of the roller is a technopolymer compound prepared by Elite and tested in the laboratories of Padua University. The tests carried out showed that Elastogel reduces the noisiness of wheel/roller friction by 50% and tyre wear by 20%. Data exchange with the other parts of the system is completely wireless, using ANT protocol, which is very secure and resistant to interference, enabling a number of systems to be used inside the same room. Console The console positioned on the handlebar allows the software to be controlled even without getting off the bicycle. This is particularly useful during training and allows the cyclist to activate/deactivate different types of information during training.

8 The keys use touch technology, i.e. without mechanical components, which detects the presence of a finger. On the front part of the console there are three LED s used to indicate console status. The control console also uses wireless ANT protocol far data exchange, simplifying the system assembly and disassembly. Using rubbers shims to fit the console on the handlebar makes it easy to install and remove. Rubbers shims easily adapt to handlebars with uncommon shapes. Cadence sensor RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM introduces a new practical cadence sensorless detection system, which does not require a sensor being connected to the frame. The RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM uses an innovative sensorless system that utilizes a sophisticated calculation based on speed to track pedal cadence. Heart Rate Transmitter RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM can receive the HR data from all ANT+ Heart Rate belt transmitters available on the market. ANT+ is a very robust and coded protocol that assures undisturbed transmission. RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM supports only ANT+ transmitters and no others. Notes: The cardiofrequency meter is not included. The cardiofrequency receiver is not compatible with standard 5KHz systems, coded or uncoded. SOFTWARE FEATURES The software that runs the system is included in the pack and supplied on a CD. lnstallation is very easy, in being completely automatic and user-friendly, and performs all the operations necessary for correct installation of the programme and all its components. Main menu displays several options- the most important feature is a white bar also known as the Action menu.

9 It s easy to quickly access several new options from the Action menu. Each possible activity is listed here; for instance, select Pedal to start pedalling right away or select Race to compete against your own time, and so on... Action Menù

10 Functions: Cycle-simulation with Real-Video. This method of training allows the cyclist to train like on the real road. Infact, during training, the video of the course being done is displayed on the computer screen and its speed is linked to that of the bicycle. At the same time, starting from the speed, slope of the section and the cyclist s weight, the programme calculates the same resistance and the power that the cyclist would develop on the road. In this way, the cyclist will feel the same fatigue as pedalling on the real road. Therefore the cycle-simulation is truly complete, since the programme manages to perfectly simulate what the cyclist sees with his eyes and feels in his legs.

11 For some Real-Video a window with the map of the course can be shown on the screen. The course and the rider s position are superimposed on the map, which makes it easier to know the type of course and the distance remaining. The panel system enables configuring the screen to each individual s needs, selecting the panels/information to be displayed, and removing the others to leave more space for the course video.

12 During training it is possible to activate panels with the console, showing: the altimetry profile of the course and the cyclist position (including other cyclists position if you re in a competition). You can also display a chart detailing the features of the next segment you re racing on. The rider s position and relative distances from other rivals (only in the race on the Internet).

13 lt is also possible to reduce the length of the course by changing the start and/or finish point. In this way the cyclist can select just the part of the course he is interested in, if deemed too long. Training programmes. This training mode allows cyclists to train in a specific way for their own needs, creating training programmes.

14 The training programmes can be of 6 different types: power / distance power / time altimetry / distance altimetry / time slope / distance slope / time In the programmes based on distance, the cyclist can create his own programmes using segments of different length (between 10 m and 100 Km) and define the value of the measurement chosen (power, altimetry and slope). For example: slope/distance programme. 1st segment 1,2 Km at 1.3%; 2nd segment 0,75 km at 0%; 3rd segment 2,23 km at 5.4%; etc. In programmes based on time, the cyclist can create training programmes with different periods that can vary from 1 second to 12 hours, and give a different value of the measurement chosen (power, altimetry and slope) for each period. For example: time/power programme. 1st period 5m 30s at 130Watt; 2nd period 45s at 350Watt; 3rd period 1 h 15 m 00s at 190Watt; etc. In this way it is possible reproduce altimetrie profiles of the courses known, using the altimetry / distance programme or generate power/time type training sessions or other combinations.

15 Geolocated Maps function. As of version 6.0 there are Google Maps functions that allow the creation of course on the Google maps. In this way any road in the world can be easily simulated without having to go anywhere. Creating a course is very easy. Just position a series of transit points on the map and the programme will mark out the road. The points can be changed as required and are limitless, thereby offering extreme freedom. During training, the screen shows the map with the course and the rider s position, whereas the programme calculates the slopes of the road sections to ensure a correct simulation. The map can have different types of representation: map (road map) satellite (satellite photos) hybrid (satellite photos with roads superimposed) terra in (road map with different colours to show the height variations) 3D (for seeing the course in perspective)

16 Also, the Panoramio function adds an always new interaction to this mode. The function shows the photos (which have been put on the Internet by numerous people) of the places where the rider is pedalling. Each time, the programme randomly selects from the available photos, showing them on the screen. In this way, different photos appear whenever the rider goes through a town or place, thus making training much more interesting and less monotonous.

17 Competition. With RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM it is possible compete against one or more rivals. These rivals can be virtual or real. With the Internet version it is possible to race against other rivals via the Internet. In this way every cyclist can take part in a Web Race from his own home. In addition to the cyclist s data, also the information regarding rivals will be available on the computer screen. As of version 6.1 the system for connection to the Internet has been improved in order to make connection to the Elite server easier. Now it is no longer necessary to use particular settings on the computer or the modem/router for the connection. In all the versions it is possible to race against up to a maximum of 7 virtual rivals. Infact, if a cyclist has done a given course at least once, it is possible to select the time and to race against it. This is possible for up to a maximum of 7 different times simultaneously. This is a very easy way to try and better one s own times. In fact, by simply selecting one s best time for a course it is possible to have the reference time to beat during training.

18 Creating courses from GPS data. lt is possible use the data gathered with a GPS device (e.g. from Garmin) on the road and import the same altimetrie profile on RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM. In this way the cyclist can train at home on the same course covered with the GPS. lt is likewise possible to train on any GPS course downloaded from the Garmin Internet site connect.garmin.com, with thousands of GPS courses already loaded. But this is not the only one. There are many sites where GPS courses can be downloaded (such as, for example When the altimetrie profile of a course is imported, the speeds are also imported, meaning that it is possible to race on the roller against your own individual time. Conconi Test. Automated performance of the famous protocol created in collaboration with Prof. Conconi for appraising the anaerobic threshold point. This test is certainly the most used in the cycling context for assessing the performance of professionals and amateurs. The programme: guides the user in correct performance of the test; displays and analyses the data gathered during the test; provides the heart-rate, power and speed values corresponding to the anaerobic threshold; provides the aerobic power and anaerobic power values expressed at the end of the test; enables printing or exporting the data or consulting the history of tests performed in the past.

19 Training Test. A programme for creating training schedules of 4 weeks based on the cyclist s abilities. In order to correctly appraise the cyclist s abilities, the software has an incremental (not maximum) test performed for correctly sizing all the training courses. The programme: guides the user in correct performance of the assessment test; displays and analyses the data gathered during the test; enables printing and saving the test data; enables the creation of 3 different types of training: - flat - uphill - generic (fitness) For every segment, the courses generated by the Training Test display the heartrate at which the cyclist should pedal ( Suggested Hr ). This information tells the cyclist how to address the different parts of the training in order to maximise performance. The Training Test is a real virtual trainer: it creates a training schedule of 4 weeks specifically for the cyclist and shows the cyclist how to do the training sessions, indicating the correct heart-rate in the various stages.

20 Creating music playlists. With RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM it is possible to create a soundtrack to listen to during training, choosing the preferred music on the computer. Note: Music not included

21 Consulting saved data. The History screen allows the cyclist to display and consult all the data of previously saved training sessions. The main table shows a training session for each line and the following information is given: date, name course/training, average speed, average cadence, average power, average heart-rate, difficulty, etc. It is also possible to display data saved over the course of a week or a month of training. Just tap on one of the buttons on the lower left corner of the screen to switch between these options.

22 Month option Week option For every training session saved it is also possible to access a dedicated screen that shows the following information: time, distance and elevation gain of the race maximum and average speed maximum and average cadence maximum and average heart-rate and the percentage of these values with respect to the athlete s maximum heart-rate the time the heart-rate remained inside, under and a bave the target zone and the relative percentages of time maximum and average power, ratio of power and weight and calories graphs of power and heart-rate profile of the course/programme.

23 On the History screen it is possible limit the display of the data of different modes: according to the course/programme according to the type of training date of training session Also, for every course/programme, it is possible to activate a comparison screen that shows the data of all the training done on that given course/ programme. In this way it is possible to see how the following data has changed over time: average speed, average power, average cadence, average heart-rate, race time, power/weight, time in the target zone and calories burnt.

24 lt is likewise possible to compare the trend of speed, power, heart-rate, cadence and distance overtime during training.

25 Also: Virtual Downhill Speed: this function simulates the help of gravity in downhill stretches, where the cyclist s speed does not only depend on his own force but also on the downhill slope. Like in a real downhill run, the help of gravity depends on the slope of the section and on the cyclist s weight; recording of the race data (time, speed, cadence, power, heart-rate and distance) every second and possibility of exporting the data to an Excel sheet; export of data in various formats, including Microsoft Excel, Training Peaks, WKO+; a function for appraising the capacities of the computer and self-configuration of the programme according to the result, in order to guarantee correct execution of the training; printout of the race reports or history. All RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM owners can download the software upgrades directly and freely from the site lf the computer is connected to the Internet, the automatic procedure checks the latest available version and compares it with that installed. lf a more recent version is available, upgrading proceeds automatically. 27 L EMOZIONE DELLA STRADA RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM è un rullo di allenamento elettronico senza fili (wireless) altamente evoluto che grazie all interazione con il PC è in grado di eseguire diversi tipi di allenamento su bici: - Ciclo simulazione veramente completa. L unione dell elettronica, dell informatica e della meccanica rende l allenamento professionale e completo. Informatica: sullo schermo del computer apparirà il video del percorso sincronizzato con la velocità della bici; elettronica: il rullo comandato elettronicamente replica perfettamente le variazioni del percorso adattandosi ai vari parametri istante per istante; meccanica: il nuovo telaio con piedi Ritmo permette al ciclista di alzarsi sui pedali e oscillare proprio come su strada. - Allenamenti personalizzabili completi: ora è possibile creare dei programmi di allenamento veramente completi. Ogni ciclista può creare dei programmi di allenamento di 6 differenti tipologie: potenza / distanza. Segmenti di potenza predefinita della lunghezza preferita dal ciclista; potenza / tempo. Periodi configurabili di tempo con potenza impostata dal ciclista; altimetria / distanza. Con questo tipo di programma è possibile copiare i profili altimetrici di qualsiasi corsa; altimetria / tempo. Segmenti di durata impostabile che raggiungono le diverse altitudini; pendenza / distanza. Con questo programma è possibile impostare dei percorsi con pendenze predefinite della lunghezza preferita dal ciclista; pendenza / tempo. Programma con periodi di tempo e pendenze impostabili dal ciclista. - Test di valutazione. Il famoso Test Conconi, incluso nel software, è il test di valutazione della soglia anaerobica più usato nel mondo del ciclismo. - Training Test. Programma che genera percorsi di allenamento di 4 settimane. Il Training Test dà al ciclista la possibilità di allenarsi in modo mirato così da massimizzare l efficacia dell allenamento sul rullo. Un programma molto completo ma che mantiene un elevata semplicità di utilizzo. Infatti al primo avvio, il programma guida l utente alla creazione del proprio profilo, semplificando i primi passi per un utilizzo veloce. Inoltre, per semplificare ulteriormente l uso, c è una sezione che spiega l uso di tutte le funzionalità con dei video che mostrano passo passo le varie fasi. In questo modo, anche per operazioni non banali, l utente non è mai lasciato solo. Anche il Conconi Test e il Training Test hanno una piccola descrizione che appare le prime volte. In questo modo l utente è facilitato alla comprensione delle fasi che sono necessarie per eseguire correttamente i test, lasciando comunque la possibilità di approfondire la comprensione del test alla lettura del manuale incluso.

28 Anche l installazione è molto semplice, grazie anche al fatto di essere senza fili (wireless). L assenza di fili di collegamento tra computer e varie parti del trainer, semplifica l installazione e rende il rullo molto pulito. Non c è neppure il sensore di cadenza, grazie ad una nuova tecnologia sensorless (senza sensore). Grazie alla tecnologia SensorLess il rullo è in grado di rilevare la cadenza senza la necessità di installare un sensore sul telaio della bici, rendendo ulteriormente più veloce montaggio e smontaggio.

29 Le caratteristiche tecniche di questo rullo lo rendono uno strumento unico per l allenamento indoor: le potenze elevate che il rullo può generare (più di 1200 Watt a 40 Km/h, ad esempio) permettono di simulare correttamente pendenze fino al 8-10%; il volano di grandi dimensioni permette una eccezionale rotondità di pedalata anche ad elevate potenze/pendenze, quindi con alti valori di inerzia; il rullino maggiorato in Elastogel (materiale esclusivo messo a punto nei laboratori Elite) dove poggia la ruota, porta vantaggi sotto diversi punti di vista: riduce consumo del pneumatico e aumenta la silenziosità; i Piedi Ritmo permettono al telaio della bici di oscillare come su strada; il sistema di bloccaggio Fast Fixing agevola il montaggio e la rimozione della bici dal telaio di supporto, rendendola un operazione semplice, veloce e sicura, e da compiere con una sola mano; il programma permette di analizzare e visualizzare tutti gli aspetti dell allenamento, salvando i risultati per future comparazioni. Tutto queste caratteristiche rendono RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM uno strumento professionale per l allenamento ciclistico indoor: sostituisce le uscite nelle giornate di pioggia, neve o vento, o alla sera quando è buio; prepara il ciclista per le gare più importanti anche durante la stagione; valuta la progressione della preparazione. CARATTERISTICHE HARDWARE Telaio Il telaio rinforzato con tubi di diametro 50 mm rendono il sistema bici + rullo altamente stabile e sicuro in qualsiasi situazione e sotto qualsiasi sforzo.

30 Bloccaggio Il sistema Fast Fixing migliora il sistema di bloccaggio della bici sul telaio. Questo sistema è: più sicuro: il bloccaggio della leva automatico non richiede operazioni aggiuntive; più facile: è sufficiente abbassare la leva per bloccare completamente la bici al telaio di supporto; più veloce: con una mano si blocca/sblocca la bici. Piedi I piedini Ritmo sono una novità assoluta nel panorama mondiale dei rulli. Con questo sistema Elite introduce la possibilità di oscillare come su strada. Inoltre è possibile regolare l elasticità dei piedi, adattandola ai diversi gusti di pedalata. Anche i piedi standard sono inclusi nella confezione.

31 Unità di resistenza L unità di resistenza comandata elettronicamente è dotata di rullino Elastogel con diametro maggiorato (40 mm). Il diametro maggiorato comporta i seguenti vantaggi: maggior superficie di contatto tra ruota e pneumatico. Questo fa si che sia maggiore la potenza che si può trasmettere da rullo a ruota e quindi sia minore lo slittamento del pneumatico. Maggior diametro implica un minor numero di giri del rullino (a parità di velocità) e quindi minor consumo del pneumatico e rumorosità. Il materiale del rullino è un composto tecno-polimerico messo a punto da Elite e testato nei laboratori dell Università di Padova. I test condotti hanno evidenziato che l Elastogel riduce la rumorosità dell attrito ruota/rullino del 50% e il consumo del pneumatico del 20%. Lo scambio dei dati con le altre parti del sistema è completamente senza fili (wireless) e utilizza il protocollo ANT. Tale protocollo è molto sicuro e robusto contro le interferenze e permette l utilizzo di più sistemi nello stesso ambiente. Console La console di comando posizionata sul manubrio permette di comandare il software anche senza scendere dalla bici. Questo è particolarmente utile durante l allenamento e permette di attivare/disattivare diversi tipi di informazioni durante l allenamento.

32 I tasti utilizzano una tecnologia touch (a sfioramento) che rileva la presenza del dito anche senza componenti meccaniche. Sulla parte anteriore della console ci sono tre led i quali indicano lo stato della console. Anche la console utilizza il protocollo senza fili ANT per lo scambio dei dati e questo semplifica il montaggio e smontaggio del sistema. L utilizzo di gommini per il fissaggio, rende l installazione e la rimozioni molto semplici e veloci. Inoltre i gommini si adattano facilmente anche ai manubri con forme inconsuete. Sensore cadenza Il RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM introduce un nuovo e comodo sistema di rilevazione della cadenza. Il sistema chiamato sensorless non prevede l utilizzo di un sensore da collegare al telaio. Questo è possibile grazie ad un sofisticato calcolo che si basa sulla velocità. Fascia cardio Il RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM può ricevere le informazioni della frequenza cardiaca da tutti i trasmettitori cardio ANT+ a fascia disponibili sul mercato. Il protocollo di comunicazione codificato ANT+ è molto robusto e assicura una forte immunità ai disturbi durante l allenamento. Fasce cardio diverse da ANT+non sono supportati da RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM. Note: il cardiofrequenzimetro non è incluso nella confezione. Il ricevitore cardio non è compatibile con sistemi standard a 5KHz sia codificati che non codificati. CARATTERISTICHE SOFTWARE Il programma che fa funzionare il sistema è incluso nella confezione e fornito su un CD. L installazione è molto semplice in quanto è completamente automatizzata e user-friendly ed esegue tutte le operazioni necessarie per una corretta installazione del programma e di tutti i suoi componenti. La schermata iniziale permette di eseguire diverse attività, ma la parte più importante è la barra bianca del menù, chiamata Action menù.

33 Grazie al nuovo menù Action l accesso alle varie funzioni del programma è molto semplice ed immediato. Per ogni attività o funzione, c è una voce del menù che la indica. Ad esempio per pedalare, si accede dalla voce Pedala, per gareggiare con il proprio tempo c è la voce Gareggia, etc. Action Menù

34 Funzioni: Ciclo-simulazione con RealVideo. Questa modalità di allenamento permette al ciclista di allenarsi come su strada. Infatti durante l allenamento viene visualizzato sullo schermo del computer il video del percorso che sta affrontando, la cui velocità è collegata a quella della bici. Nello stesso momento, partendo da velocità, pendenza del tratto e peso del ciclista, il programma calcola la stessa resistenza e la potenza che il ciclista sviluppa su strada. In questo modo, il ciclista sentirà sulle gambe la stessa fatica di un pedalata su strada. In questo modo la ciclo simulazione è veramente completa in quanto il programma riesce a simulare perfettamente ciò che il ciclista vede con gli occhi e sente con le gambe.

35 Per alcuni RealVideo c è la possibilità di visualizzare sullo schermo una finestra che mostra la mappa del percorso. Sulla mappa è sovraimpresso il percorso e la posizione del ciclista, in questo modo è più facile capire il tipo di percorso e anche quanto manca alla fine. Il sistema a pannelli, permette di configurare la schermata secondo le proprie necessità, selezionando i pannelli / informazioni che si desiderano visualizzare e togliendo gli altri per lasciare più spazio al video del percorso.

36 Durante l allenamento è possibile attivare con la console dei pannelli che mostrano: il profilo altimetrico del percorso e la posizione del ciclista su di esso (in caso di competizione mostra anche la posizione degli avversari) e opzionalmente un grafico che mostra il dettaglio del prossimo km. La posizione del ciclista e relativi distacchi dagli altri avversari (questo solo nella competizione su Internet).

37 È possibile inoltre ridurre la lunghezza del percorso cambiando il punto di partenza e/o di arrivo. In questo modo è possibile selezionare solo la parte del percorso che ci interessa se lo riteniamo troppo lungo. Programmi di allenamento. Questa modalità di allenamento permette ai ciclisti di allenarsi in maniera specifica per le proprie necessità creando programmi di allenamento.

38 I programmi di allenamento posso essere di 6 diverse tipologie: potenza / distanza potenza / tempo altimetria / distanza altimetria / tempo pendenza / distanza pendenza / tempo Nei programmi basati sulla distanza, il ciclista può creare i propri programmi utilizzando segmenti di diversa lunghezza (compresa tra 10 m e 100 Km) e per ogni segmento definire l entità della grandezza scelta (tra potenza, altimetria e pendenza). Ad esempio: programma pendenza / distanza. 1 segmento 1,2 Km a 1.3%; 2 segmento 0,75 km a 0%; 3 segmento 2.23 km a 5,4%; ecc. Nei programmi basati sul tempo, il ciclista può creare dei programmi di allenamento con diversi periodi che possono variare tra 1 secondo e 12 ore, e per ogni periodo dare un diverso valore della grandezza scelta (tra potenza, altimetria e pendenza). Ad esempio: programma tempo / potenza. 1 periodo 5 m 30 s a 130 Watt; 2 periodo 45 s a 350 Watt; 3 periodo 1h 15 m 00 s a 190 Watt; ecc. In questo modo è possibile riprodurre dei profili altimetrici di percorsi conosciuti utilizzando il programma altimetria / distanza o generare degli allenamenti del tipo potenza / tempo.

39 Funzionalità Geolocated. dalla versione 6.0 sono presenti funzionalità Google Maps che permettono la creazione di percorsi sulle mappe di Google. In questo modo, è possibile simulare qualsiasi strada del mondo facilmente senza la necessità di spostarsi. Creare un percorso in questo modo è molto semplice, basta posizionare sulla mappa una serie di punti di passaggio e il programma si occuperà di tracciare la strada. I punti sono liberamente modificabili e illimitati, permettendo così una estrema libertà. Durante l allenamento, sullo schermo è visualizzata la mappa con il percorso e la posizione del ciclista, mentre il programma calcola le pendenze del tratto di strada per rendere la simulazione corretta. La mappa può avere diverse tipologie di rappresentazione: mappa (carta stradale) satellite (foto satellitari) ibrida (foto satellitare con in sovrimpressione le strade) terreno (carta stradale con diversi colori per rendere le variazioni di altitudine) 3D (modalità con la quale è possibile vedere il percorso in prospettiva)

40 Inoltre la funzionalità Panoramio, aggiunge a questa modalità una interazione sempre nuova. Tale funzione mostra le foto dei luoghi in cui si sta pedalando, che sono state caricate su internet da altri utenti. Il programma ogni volta seleziona a caso tra le foto disponibili, mostrandole sul schermo. In questo modo, ogni volta che si attraversa una città o un luogo, appariranno foto diverse rendendo l allenamento molto più interessante e meno monotono.

41 Competizione. Con il RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM è possibile competere contro uno o più avversari. Tali avversari possono essere virtuali o reali. Nella versione internet è possibile gareggiare contro altri avversari tramite internet. In questo modo ogni ciclista può partecipare ad una Web Race (Gara) da casa propria. Sullo schermo del computer saranno disponibili, oltre ai propri dati, anche le informazioni relative agli avversari. Dalla versione 6.1 il sistema di connessione ad internet è stato migliorato al fine di rendere più semplice la connessione con il server Elite. Ora non è più necessario usare particolari impostazioni sul computer o sul modem/router per la connessione. In tutte le versioni è possibile gareggiare contro avversari virtuali, fino ad un massimo di 7. Infatti, se un ciclista ha eseguito almeno una volta un determinato percorso, è possibile selezionarne il tempo e gareggiare contro di esso. Questo fino ad un massimo di 7 diversi tempi contemporaneamente. Questo è un modo molto semplice per cercare di migliorare i propri tempi, infatti è sufficiente selezionare il proprio miglior tempo su un percorso per avere il riferimento da battere durante l allenamento.

42 Creazione percorsi da dati GPS. È possibile utilizzare i dati raccolti con un dispositivo GPS su strada (ad esempio da Garmin) e importarli nel RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM lo stesso profilo altimetrico. In questo modo è possibile allenarsi in casa sullo stesso tracciato che è stato percorso con il GPS. È altresì possibile allenarsi su un qualsiasi percorso GPS scaricato da internet dal sito di Garmin connect.garmin.com, con migliaia di corse GPS già caricate. Ma non è l unico, sono disponibili numerosi siti in cui i navigatori possono scaricare i percorsi GPS (come ad esempio Importando il profilo altimetrico di un percorso si importano anche le velocità. Poi è quindi possibile gareggiare sul rullo contro il proprio tempo. Test Conconi. Esecuzione automatizzata del famoso protocollo realizzato in collaborazione con il Prof. Conconi per la valutazione del punto di soglia anaerobica. Tale test è sicuramente il più utilizzato in ambito ciclistico per la valutazione delle performance di professionisti e amatori. Il programma: guida l utente alla corretta esecuzione del test; visualizza e analizza i dati raccolti durante il test; fornisce i valori di frequenza cardiaca, potenza e velocità corrispondenti alla soglia anaerobica; fornisce i valori di potenza aerobica e di potenza anaerobica espressi alla fine del test; permette di stampare o esportare i dati o la consultazione dello storico dei test eseguiti in passato.

43 Training Test. Programma per la creazione di piani di allenamento di 4 settimane basati sulle capacità del ciclista. Al fine di valutare correttamente le capacità del ciclista, il software fa eseguire un test incrementale (non massimale) che gli permette di dimensionare correttamente tutti i percorsi di allenamento. Il programma: guida l utente alla corretta esecuzione del test di valutazione; visualizza e analizza i dati raccolti durante il test; permette la stampa e il salvataggio dei dati del test; permette la creazione di 3 diversi tipi di allenamento: - pianura - salita - generico (fitness) Per ogni segmento, le corse generate dal Training Test visualizzano la frequenza cardiaca a cui si dovrebbe pedalare ( Suggested Hr ). Questa informazione indica al ciclista come affrontare le diverse parti dell allenamento al fine di massimizzarne il rendimento. Il Training Test è un vero e proprio allenatore virtuale: crea un piano di allenamento di 4 settimane su misura per il ciclista e indica al ciclista come effettuare gli allenamenti indicando la frequenza cardiaca corretta nelle varie fasi.

44 Creazione di playlist musicali. Con RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM è possibile creare una colonna sonora da ascoltare durante l allenamento scegliendo la musica preferita dal proprio computer. Nota: musica non inclusa.

45 Consultazione dei dati salvati. La schermata Storico permette la visualizzazione e consultazione di tutti i dati di allenamenti precedentemente salvati. Nella tabella principale è visualizzato un allenamento per ogni riga e sono riportate le seguenti informazioni: data, nome percorso/allenamento, velocità media, cadenza media, potenza media, frequenza cardiaca media, difficoltà, ecc.. Inoltre è possibile visualizzare i dati salvati per settimana o per mese. Per cambiare da una modalità all altra è sufficiente premere uno dei tasti in basso a sinistra.

46 Modalità mese Modalità settimana Per ogni allenamento salvato è anche possibile accedere ad una schermata dedicata che ne visualizza le informazioni: tempo, distanza e guadagno in elevazione della corsa velocità massima e media cadenza massima e media frequenza cardiaca massima e media e la percentuale che tali valori rappresentano rispetto alla frequenza cardiaca massima dell atleta tempo in cui la frequenza cardiaca è rimasta all interno, al di sotto e al di sopra della zona obiettivo e le relative percentuali di tempo potenza massima e media, rapporto potenza, peso e calorie grafici della potenza e della frequenza cardiaca profilo del percorso / programma.

47 Nella schermata Storico è possibile limitare la visualizzazione dei dati di diversi modi: in base al percorso/programma in base al tipo di allenamento data dell allenamento In aggiunta, per ogni percorso/programma, è possibile attivare una schermata di comparazione che mostra i dati di tutti gli allenamenti effettuati sul quel determinato percorso/programma. In questo modo è possibile vedere come sono variati nel tempo i seguenti dati: velocità media, potenza media, cadenza media, frequenza cardiaca media, tempo della corsa, potenza/peso, tempo nella zona obbiettivo e calorie bruciate.

48 È parimenti possibile confrontare l andamento di velocità, potenza, frequenza cardiaca, cadenza e distanza nel tempo durante l allenamento.

49 In aggiunta: Virtual Downhill Speed: questa è una funzione che simula l aiuto della gravità nei tratti in discesa, dove la velocità del ciclista non è dovuta solamente alla propria forza ma anche alla discesa. Come in una discesa reale, l aiuto della gravità è in funzione della pendenza del tratto e del peso del ciclista; registrazione in ogni secondo dei dati della corsa (velocità, cadenza, potenza, frequenza cardiaca e distanza) e possibilità di esportare i dati su un foglio Excel; esportazione dati in vari formati, tra cui Microsoft Excel, Training Peaks e WKO+; funzione di valutazione delle capacità del computer e autoconfigurazione del programma in base al risultato, al fine di garantire la corretta esecuzione dell allenamento; stampa dei report della corsa o dello storico. Tutti i possessori di RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM possono scaricare gli aggiornamenti dei software direttamente dal sito Se il computer è connesso a internet, la procedura automatizzata controlla l ultima versione disponibile e la confronta con quella installata. 51 L EMOTION DE LA ROUTE RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM est un rouleau d entraînement électronique sans fil (wireless) hautement évolué qui grâce à l interaction avec le PC est en mesure d effectuer différents types d entraînement sur vélo: - Cyclo simulation vraiment complète. L union de l électronique, de l informatique et de la mécanique rend l entraînement professionnel et complet. lnformatique: sur l écran de l ordinateur apparaitra la vidéo du parcours synchronisé avec la vitesse du vélo; électronique: le rouleau commandé électroniquement réplique parfaitement les variations du parcours en s adaptant aux différents paramètres à chaque instant; mécanique: le nouveau cadre avec Pieds Ritmo permet au cycliste de se lever sur les pédales et d osciller comme sur la route. - Entraînements personnalisables complets: maintenant on peut créer des programmes d entraînement de 6 typologies différentes : puissance /distance. Segments de puissance prédéfinie de la longueur préférée du cycliste; puissance / temps. Périodes configurables de temps avec puissance établie par le cycliste; altimétrie / distance. En effet au premier démarrage, le programme guide l utilisateur dans la création de son propre profil, en simplifiant les premiers pas pour une utilisation rapide. En plus, pour simplifier encore l utilisation, il y a une section qui explique l utilisation de toutes les fonctionnalités avec des vidéos qui montrent pas par pas les différentes phases. De cette manière, même pour les opérations qui ne sont pas banales, l utilisateur n est jamais seul. Même le Test Conconi et le Training Test ont une petite description qui apparait les premières fois. De cette manière l utilisateur est facilité dans la compréhension des phases qui sont nécessaires pour effectuer correctement les tests, en laissant de toute façon la possibilité d approfondir la compréhension du test avec la lecture du manuel inclus.

52 L installation est également très simple, grâce aussi au fait d être sans fil (wireless). L absence de fil de branchement entre l ordinateur et les différents éléments du trainer, simplifie l installation et rend le rouleau très net. Il n y a même pas de capteur de cadence, grâce à une nouvelle technologie sensorless (sans capteur). Grâce à la technologie Sensorless le rouleau est en mesure de détecter la cadence sans besoin d installer un capteur sur le cadre du vélo, ce qui rend l assemblage et le démontage encore plus rapides.

54 Blocage Le système Fast Fixing améliore le système de blocage du vélo sur le cadre. Ce système est: plus sur: le blocage du levier automatique ne demande pas d autres opérations; plus facile: il suffit de baisser le levier pour bloquer complètement le vélo au cadre de support; plus rapide: an bloque/débloque le vélo d une main. Pieds Les pieds Ritmo sont une nouveauté absolue dans le panorama mondial des rouleaux. Avec ce système Elite introduit la possibilité d osciller comme sur la route. En plus on peut régler l élasticité des pieds, en l adaptant aux différents gouts de coup de pédale. Les pieds standards sont inclus dans la boite.

55 Unité de résistance L unité de résistance commandée électroniquement est dotée de rouleau Elastogel avec diamètre augmenté (40 mm). Le diamètre augmenté comporte les avantages suivants: une plus grande surface de contact entre le rouleau et le pneu. Ceci fait en sorte que la puissance que l on peut transmettre du rouleau à la roue soit plus importante et donc que le glissement du pneu soit plus faible; un plus grand diamètre implique un nombre inférieur de tours du rouleau (à la même vitesse) et donc une consommation inférieure du pneu et plus de silence. La matière du rouleau est un composé tecno-polymérique mis au point par Elite et testé dans les laboratoires de l Université de Padoue. Les tests réalisés ont mis en évidence que l Elastogel réduit le bruit du frottement roue/rouleau de 50%. L échange des données avec les autres éléments du système est complètement sans fil (wireless) et utilise le protocole ANT. Ce protocole est très sûr et robuste contre les interférences et permet l utilisation de plusieurs systèmes dans la même salle. Console La console de commande positionnée sur le guidon permet de commander le logiciel même sans descendre du vélo. Ceci est particulièrement utile pendant l entraînement et permet d activer/désactiver différents types d informations pendant l entraînement.

56 Les touches se servent d une technologie touch (à effleurement) qui détecte la présence du doigt même sans composants mécaniques. Sur la partie antérieure de la console il y a trois leds qui servent à indiquer l état de la console. La console aussi utilise le protocole sans fil ANT pour l échange des données et ceci simplifie l assemblage et le démontage du système. Grâce à l utilisation d attaches assurant la fixation, le montage et le démontage sont très simples et rapides. De plus, ces attaches conviennent aussi pour les guidons de formes inhabituelles. Capteur de cadence RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM introduit un nouveau et pratique système de détection de la cadence. Le système appelé sensorless ne prévoit pas l utilisation d un capteur à brancher au cadre. Ceci est possible grâce à un calcul sophistiqué qui se base sur la vitesse. Emetteur de fréquence cardiaque RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM peut recevoir les données de fréquence cardiaque depuis tous les émetteurs de fréquence cardiaque ANT+ disponibles sur le marché. ANT+ est un protocole de communication particulièrement fiable, codé etprotégé des perturbations éventuelles lors de la transmission de données. RealAxiom Wireless ANT TM ne supporte que et seulement les ceintures émetteurs de fréquence cardiaques ANT+. Notes: Le cardio-fréquencemètre n est pas compris dans la boîte. Le récepteur cardio n est pas compatible avec les systèmes standard à 5KHz qu ils soient codifiés ou pas. CARACTÉRISTIQUES DU LOGICIEL Le logiciel qui fait fonctionner le programme est compris dans la boite et fourni sur un CD. L installation est très simple parce qu elle est complètement automatisée et user-friendly, elle effectue toutes les opérations nécessaires pour une installation correcte du programme et de tous ses composants. L écran de départ permet d effectuer diverses activités, mais la section la plus importante est la barre de menu dénommée Action menù.

57 Grâce au nouveau menu Action, l accès aux différentes fonctions du programme est immédiat et très simple. À chaque activité ou fonction correspond une rubrique du menu. Par exemple, pour accéder à l activité pédaler, il suffit de sélectionner la rubrique Pédaler, pour accéder à l activité courir, sélectionner la rubrique Courir, etc. Action Menù

58 Fonctions: Cyclo-simulation avec Real-Video. Cette modalité d entraînement permet au cycliste de s entraîner comme sur la route. En effet pendant l entraînement la vidéo du parcours que l on affronte est affichée sur l écran, sa vitesse est reliée à celle du vélo. En même temps, en partant de la vitesse, pente du morceau et du poids du cycliste, le programme calcule la même résistance et la puissance que le cycliste développe sur la route. De cette manière le cycliste sentira dans les jambes la même fatigue que celle du coup de pédale sur route. De cette manière la cyclo simulation est vraiment complète car le programme parvient à simuler parfaitement ce que le cycliste voit et ressent.
