Ik had al zeer bevredigende resultaten in mijn kantoor van ouderen die trainden op de Power Plate en met hemiplegie. De Power Plate heeft bewezen bijzonder nuttig te zijn om spieren terug aan het werk te zetten, door statische oefeningen, zonder dat de patiënt te veel inspanning levert. In het bejaardentehuis was mijn belangrijkste zorg dat de ouderen, vaak bedlegerig voor een deel van de dag, opnieuw geleerd werd om minder afhankelijk te zijn. We moeten hun vertrouwen herstellen, door hun meer mobiel te maken en blessures en valpartijen,waarvan de afl oop fataal kan zijn,te vermijden Hoe kan de Power Plate nuttig voor hun zijn? Door hen tot op zeker niveau kracht in de onderste ledematen te bezorgen, maar ook door het stimuleren van de prikkels gelegen aan de zolen van de voeten. Deze bieden informatie aan de hersenen die geleidelijk de harde schijf van de hersenen zal herprogrammeren naar meer evenwicht.
