3 BESTE OUDER TIPS! Ga langs op de school. Bezoek hun site. Kijk of er extra bezoekmomenten zijn. Uw kind is geboren in 2013? Of u wenst een andere school voor uw kind? Deze brochure geeft u informatie over de gemeenschappelijke inschrijvingsregeling in het kleuter- en lager onderwijs voor alle scholen in Gent. Met deze regeling willen we iedereen een gelijke kans geven om in te schrijven in een school van eigen keuze. Sommige scholen hebben maar een beperkt aantal plaatsen. Om wachtrijen voor de schoolpoort te vermijden, kunt u vanaf 30 januari 2015 (12 uur s middags) tot en met 27 februari 2015 (12 uur s middags) uw kind aanmelden via U krijgt dan een bevestiging waar u kan inschrijven in een school. De kalender, met de belangrijkste data is terug te vinden op de achterkant van de brochure. Aanmelden via de website. Wat zijn de voordelen? 1. U krijgt voorrang op ouders die de website niet gebruiken. 2. U kunt meerdere scholen aanduiden in de volgorde van uw voorkeur. 3. U wordt gerangschikt op basis van afstand thuis - school of werkplek - school. 4. U vergroot uw kansen op een ticket. Bij het verdelen van de plaatsen wordt er eveneens rekening gehouden met het aantal kansarme en kansrijke kinderen. We trachten in Gent te komen tot een sociale mix. Alle kinderen geboren in 2013 die voor de eerste keer naar school mogen, ook al is dit pas op 1 september Oudere kinderen als de ouders vanaf volgend schooljaar van basisschool willen veranderen. Broers en zussen en kinderen van het personeel geboren in 2013 konden reeds vroeger inschrijven. WELKE SCHOLEN? Alle scholen voor gewoon onderwijs in Gent doen mee! Ook als de school van uw eerste keuze vroeger nooit wachtrijen kende, raden wij aan uw kind vooraf via de website aan te melden. De situatie kan dit jaar anders zijn. Vooraf aangemelde inschrijvingen verlopen bovendien vlotter en dat is voor uzelf en de school aangenamer. HOE MELD IK AAN? Via de website WAAROM? Om kans te maken op een plaats in de school van uw voorkeur. 3

9 BUITENGEWOON ONDERWIJS BUITENGEWOON ONDERWIJS Naast de scholen voor gewoon onderwijs, zijn er ook scholen voor buitengewoon onderwijs. Voor een inschrijving in een school voor buitengewoon onderwijs is een attest nodig. De CLB s kunnen hierbij helpen. De inschrijving gebeurt op de school. Het buitengewoon onderwijs richt zich tot kinderen die speciale hulp nodig hebben door een beperking of door leer- of opvoedingsmoeilijkheden. Het is ingedeeld in verschillende types: Type basisaanbod: voor kinderen met een verstandelijke beperking en een leerstoornis Type 2: voor kinderen met een verstandelijke beperking Type 3: voor kinderen met een emotionele of gedragsstoornis Type 4: voor kinderen met een motorische beperking Type 5: voor kinderen die opgenomen zijn in een ziekenhuis, residentiële setting of verblijven in een preventorium Type 6: voor kinderen met visuele beperking Type 7: voor kinderen met een auditieve beperking of een spraak- of taalstoornis Type 9*: voor kinderen met een autismespectrumstoornis en die geen verstandelijke beperking hebben * de scholen die dit type zullen aanbieden vanaf 1/09/2015 zijn op datum van druk nog niet gekend BUITENGEWOON ONDERWIJS Dit cijfer verwijst naar het type onderwijs. 10 VEELGESTELDE VRAGEN 1 Wanneer kan mijn kleuter starten op school? SCHOOLJAAR geboren tot en met instapdatum 1 maart september mei november juli januari augustus februari augustus februari oktober april november mei december september 2016 Of vanaf 3 jaar. 2 Wat moet ik meenemen als ik naar school ga om mijn kind te laten inschrijven? De SIS-kaart, Kids-ID of briefje mutualiteit. De school heeft een officieel bewijsstuk nodig met de juiste schrijfwijze van de naam van uw kind en het rijksregisternummer. 3 Wat gebeurt er als mijn kind op een school ingeschreven wordt? 1. De school controleert de gegevens van uw kind. 2. U verklaart zich akkoord met het pedagogisch project en het schoolreglement van de school. 3. U plaatst uw handtekening op de leerlingenfiche. 4. U krijgt een inschrijvingsbewijs. 4 Wat gebeurt er als mijn kind op een school geweigerd wordt? 1. De naam van uw kind wordt genoteerd in het inschrijvingsregister. 2. U ontvangt een mededeling van niet-gerealiseerde inschrijving met daarop een rangnummer. 3. Voor kinderen geboren in 2013 moet de school dit rangnummer respecteren tot 30 juni Voor kinderen die vroeger geboren zijn, moet de school dit rangnummer respecteren tot en met de 5de schooldag van oktober Dit register wordt elk schooljaar opnieuw aangelegd. U kunt jaarlijks opnieuw aanmelden. 5 Waarom werken we met aanmeldingen? Meer en meer scholen raken snel volzet. We willen echter elk kind in Gent een plaats garanderen. En dat zoveel mogelijk in de buurt waar u woont, zodat u de mogelijkheid krijgt om uw kind(eren) op wandelafstand naar school te laten gaan. 6 Mag ik mijn kind bij meerdere scholen aanmelden? Ja. Er is geen limiet. Het verhoogt uw kansen op een school van uw keuze. Kies meerdere scholen met voldoende plaatsen. 7 Hebben mensen die zich voor mij aanmelden via internet meer kans op een plaats? Neen. Bij de aanmelding van uw kind speelt het tijdstip geen rol, zolang het maar binnen de voorziene periode gebeurt. Wanneer de vraag het aanbod overstijgt, wordt er enkel gekeken naar de afstanden tot aan de school. 8 Wanneer maak ik een login aan? Tijdens de aanmeldingsperiode. 9 Hoe kan ik zien of er nog plaats is voor mijn kind? Bij de aanmelding kunt u bij elke school zien hoeveel vrije plaatsen er nog voor de leeftijdsgroep van uw kind bij het begin van de aanmeldingsperiode zijn. Zorg dat de gekozen scholen voldoende plaatsen hebben. 10 Wat moet ik doen als ik nog iets wil veranderen tijdens de aanmeldingsperiode (bijvoorbeeld nog een school toevoegen)? Met uw gebruikersnaam en wachtwoord kunt u uw gegevens opnieuw bekijken of wijzigen. 10

11 11 Ik heb geen computer, wat kan ik doen? Neem contact op met een organisatie (zie pagina 8) of met een school. Zij zullen u verder helpen. 12 Hoeveel vrije plaatsen worden ingevuld aan de hand van de afstand thuis - school? Minimaal 75% van de vrije plaatsen worden toegekend op basis van de afstand tot thuis. 13 Hoeveel vrije plaatsen worden ingevuld aan de hand van de afstand werk - school? Maximaal 25% van de vrije plaatsen worden toegekend op basis van de afstand tot de werkplek. 14 Hoe bereken ik welke werkplek het dichtst ligt bij de school? U hoeft dit niet te doen, de computer berekent dit. De computer neemt de kortste en dus de interessantste afstand. Voor pendelaars is het station geen werkplek. 15 Wat moet ik verstaan onder sociale mix? Met behulp van de aanmeldingen willen we komen tot een weerspiegeling van de buurt waarin onze kinderen opgroeien. Dit door zowel kansrijke als kansarme kinderen voorrang te geven. 16 Mijn kind gaat naar een kinderopvang in een school, heb ik recht op voorrang? Neen. 17 Wordt er een school verplicht toegewezen die ik niet wens? Neen. Er wordt enkel gekeken naar de scholen die u koos. Om te voorkomen dat u geen plaats hebt, vult u best alle scholen van uw voorkeur in. Hoe meer scholen hoe meer kans op een ticket. 18 Wat gebeurt er als ik mijn kind niet aanmeld? Dan kunt u vanaf 21 april nog een plaats zoeken, maar de meeste scholen zullen volzet zitten. We raden u aan om zeker aan te melden! 19 Als mijn kind aangemeld is, is mijn kind dan ook ingeschreven? Neen. U moet nog langsgaan op de school. 20 Wanneer ontvang ik een schooltoelage? U moet dit zelf aanvragen. This brochure gives you information about the common enrolment regulation in all preschool education and primary education in Ghent. With this regulation we would like to give everyone an equal opportunity to enrol in a school of choice. Some schools have limited places. To avoid queues at school doors you have the possibility to apply your child online through from 30 January 2015 (12:00 noon) until 27 February 2015 (12:00 noon). Afterwards you will confirmation stating the name of your child s designated school. You can find the calendar with the important dates on the back side of this brochure. What are the advantages of applying online? 1. You will get priority over parents who don t use the website. 2. You can apply for multiple schools. 3. You will be ranked according to distance home-school or schoolworkplace. 4. Your chances for a ticket will increase. The number of disadvantaged and advantaged children has taken into account when distributing the places in the schools. A certificate is required that has been issued by a CLB (Pupil Guidance Center) for a school of Special Education. The enrolment takes place at the school itself. The CLB s (Pupil Guidance Centers) will help you further with your choice. Special education aims at children who need special help due to a mental or physical disability or learning or educational difficulties. The information about your child will be verified. 2. You have to agree with the school rules and the educational project. 3.You also have to sign the enrolment record. 4. 28 4 What happens if a school refuses my child? 1. Your child s name will be written in the enrolment record. 2. You will receive a notice that the enrolment is not realised and your child gets a rank number. 3. The school has to respect this rank number until 30 June 2016 for children born in If the child is born later the school has to respect the rank number until the 5th school day of October Each school year, a new register is made. You can renew your application every year. 5 Waarom werken we met aanmeldingen? 5 Why do we work with an applying system? More and more schools are getting very quickly filled. Though, we would like to guarantee every child a place in Ghent and that as much as possible in the area where you live, so that you have the opportunity to get your child(ren) within walking distance to school. 6 Mag ik mijn kind bij meerdere scholen aanmelden? 6 May I apply for more than one school? Yes. There are no limits. It increases your chances of a school of your choice. Please, choose more than one school with enough available places. 7 Hebben mensen die zich voor mij aanmelden via internet meer kans op een plaats? 7 Do people have more chance on a place who have applied before me through internet? No. When applying for a place for your child time plays no role as long as it is within the prescribed application period. When there is an excess of demand over supply then the distances to school have to be taken into account. 8 Wanneer maak ik een login aan? 8 When should I create a login? During the application period. 9 Hoe kan ik zien of er nog plaats is voor mijn kind? 9 How do I know if there is a place for my child? When you apply to a school you can see how many places of your child s age group are free at the start of the application period. Make sure that the schools you choose have enough places. 16

For rail users the railway station is not considered a workplace. 14 Hoe bereken ik welke werkplek het dichtst ligt bij de school? 14 How can I calculate which workplace is the nearest to the school? You don t have to do this, the computer will calculate it. The computer takes the shortest distance. 15 Wat moet ik verstaan onder sociale mix? 15 What does social mix mean? With the online applications we would like to achieve a reflection of the society in which our children live by giving priority to advantaged and disadvantaged children. 16 Mijn kind gaat naar een kinderopvang in een school, heb ik recht op voorrang? 16 My child goes to a child care in the school, do I have the right to get priority? 17

30 No. 17 Wordt er een school verplicht toegewezen die ik niet wens? 17 Is there a possibility that they assign a school that I do not wish? No. Only the schools you chose are taken into account. To avoid that you have no place, you have to fill all schools of your preference. The more schools, more likely to get a ticket. 18 Wat gebeurt er als ik mijn kind niet aanmeld? 18 What happens if I don t apply for my child? Then you can still find a place from 15 April, but most schools will be fully booked. We certainly recommend you to apply! 19 Als mijn kind aangemeld is, is mijn kind dan ook ingeschreven? 19 If I apply for my child, will he also be registered at the same time?
