9 EMI, Elektromagnetische Interferentie 9 Bij elektromagnetische beïnvloeding van een object door een storingsbron zijn altijd de volgende fysische eigenschappen betrokken, zij het in verschillende mate of frequentie: Elektrische geleiding Capaciteit Inductie Elektro magnetische straling

10 EMS, Elektromagnetische Susceptibiliteit 10. Storende elektromagnetische effecten kunnen worden gereduceerd door het binnendringen van het storende signaal in gevoelige circuits te verminderen door ervoor te zorgen dat storende stromen niet in signaalvoerende geleiders of bedrading gaan lopen. Basis maatregelen ter voorkomen van storingen Laagfrequent: Magnetisch plaatmateriaal Hoogfrequent: Ook afscherming met niet magnetisch materiaal Gescheiden aardcircuits (zoals bij audio storingen) Galvanische ontkoppeling Filters

11 EMC en normen 11 In Europa trad op 3 mei 1989 de nieuwe Europese richtlijn 89/336/EEG rondom elektromagnetische compatibiliteit (EMC) in werking. Dit houdt in dat elektrische en elektronische apparaten die op de Europese markt terecht komen moet voldoen aan in de richtlijn gestelde EMC-eisen. In 2004 is een nieuwe versie van de EMC-richtlijn opgesteld. Volgens deze nieuwe richtlijn, die na een overgangsperiode van enkele jaren de voorgaande versie volledig vervangt, hoeft de fabrikant in de meeste gevallen geen EMC-onderzoek meer te laten doen. Hij hoeft dan slechts te verklaren dat het product aan de richtlijn voldoet. In die gevallen is de fabrikant dan wel verplicht om volgens de aangewezen normen te werken.

14 Profibus DP - Minimum spacing for cables 14 To determine the minimum distance between PROFIBUS cables and other electrical cables, proceed as follows: 1. Left column (PROFIBUS cable and cable for...) select which electrical cables to route together with the PROFIBUS cables. 2. Right table section (spacing), select type of cable separation to be used. 3. Spacing for respective cable type routing can be found in the column with respective type of cable separation. 4. In addition, observe regulations for different routing areas. (according to EN 50174)

15 Termination 15 The bus termination for PROFIBUS is an active bus termination!!! It is essential for the proper function of a PROFIBUS segment that both ends are terminated and no further terminations are available. The bus can only function properly when the both terminations are supplied with power - even if parts of a plant was switched off

20 Profibus DP Cable Routing 20 Ground shields of all cables entering cabinet at entry point. Connect shield to cabinet ground with greatest possible surface area with special mouning clips. Protect cables from damage by mechanical stress, cables should be fixed above and below grounding clip.

21 Profibus DP Cable Routing 21 General plant or factory cabling can carry high voltages and currents. Running PROFIBUS cables parallel to such cables can lead to interference pickup and thus to data transmission errors. Interference can be reduced by separating the PROFIBUS cable from the interference source and also by minimizing the length of any parallel runs of cable. Particularly critical are interference voltages in the khz to MHz range. Highfrequency interference can also arise on power supply cables with direct voltage or 50/60-Hz alternating voltage when the supply is switched, e.g. through a frequently switching relay or an inverter. In general, the greater the spacing between the cables and the shorter the paths run parallel, the lower the risks of interference (crosstalk).
