Stereochemie en Koolhydraten (18 punten, 30 min) Gaalzuur (I) is een belangrijke onderdeel van de gal, dat de secretie van de lever bevat, waardoor vetten geëmulgeerd en ontstaan micellen zodat de vetten makkelijker verteerbaar zijn. a) Teken molecuul I op het antwoordblad en omcirkel alle stereocentra.(5) ½ point per correct assignment. 11 stereocenters in total. Max. 5 points. Wijnsteenzuur (II) is een aldariczuur wat in veel planten kan gevonden worden. b) Teken een ruimtelijke structuur in perspectief van alle stereoisomeren van II met 'wig' vormige en gestippelde bindingen op C2 en C3 (zie voorbeeld voor R glyceraldehyde, III) en benoem alle stereocentra volgens Cahn Ingold Prelog (CIP) notatie.(6) 1 point per correct structure. 1 point per correct R/S assignment. 3 Opgave 2. Natuurlijke en synthetische polymeren (20 punten, 35 min) De tripeptide Val Pro Pro (1) heeft anti hoge bloeddruk eigenschappen. Kleurstoffen en medicijnen (20 punten, 35 min) a) Six of the following molecules have delocalized electrons? Which ones are they?(6) 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10.(1 point each) b) Phenolphthalein, which is an acid base indicator, which exhibits a dramatic colour change at low and high ph. In solution of ph < 8.5, it is colorless; in solutions of ph > 8.5, it is a deep purple. Account for the change in colour.(4) In acidic solutions, the three benzene rings of phenolphthalein are isolated from one another.(1 point) In basic solutions, as a result of a loss of the proton from one of the OH groups (1 point), there is a greater degree of conjugation. Condensatie reacties en metabolisme (14 punten, 25 min) a) Identify the most acidic hydrogen in each compound, A C.(3) Highlighted in red. 1 point each. b) Draw the enol tautomer for each of the following, D F.(3) 1 point each. 2 Methyl 1,3 cyclopentaandion, A, en 3 buteen 2 on, B, reageren in aanwezigheid van base met elkaar tot bicyclisch product C via opeenvolgende Michael additie en aldolcondensatie. c) Geef alle tussenproducten om vanuit Gen H tot I te komen.(5) 1 point each.

NMR en moleculaire karakterisering (16 punten, 30 min) a) How could 1H NMR distinguish between the compounds in each of the following pairs? Give one piece of data in each case.8 Any well reasoned answer will score two points for each pair. Pair A: 4 signals (left) vs. 2 signals (right). Pair B: 2 signals (left) vs. 3 signals (right). Pair C: 2 signals (left) vs. 3 signals (right). Pair D: 2 signals with integration 3:1 (left) vs. 2 signals with integration 1:1 (right). 10 Opgave 6. Lipiden, terpenen en steroïden (14 punten, 25 min) Lanosterol (1) is een chiraal tetracyclisch triterpenoïde welke van alle andere steroïden is afgeleid. Het wordt in het lichaam gemaakt vanuit squaleen 2 via een cascade van enzymatische reacties, waarbij alle atomen aanwezig in 2, worden omgezet naar 1. Hierbij wordt slechts één zuurstofatoom vanuit een andere bron toegevoegd; een prachtige en zeer efficiënte synthese! a) Hoeveel stereocentra zijn er in 1 aanwezig?(1) 7 b) Hoeveel isopreen eenheden zijn er in 1 aanwezig?(1) 6 c) Hoe komt het dat er maar één enantiomeer van 1 in het lichaam wordt gemaakt, startend vanuit achiraal 2?
