5 our approach 1. people oriented design we design for people. Our goal is always to design meaningful products, that mean an improvement for the user in terms of experience, interaction or ergonomics. During the Design Strategy phase of the project we use powerful tools in order to enter into the deepest core meanings that the product can have for users. And on-site user research and testing with mockups helps us to design concepts and products that are close to people. 2. interaction and electronics our own electronics department designs the technical platforms and software that make interaction with the product possible.this helps us in an early stage to run tests with the product in combination with a early version of the electronics and software, to learn how the final product works best and to create the best possible interaction.

6 our approach 3. sustainability sustainability in a sense how products will be de-assembled and recycled is extremely complex, especially as products are complex. We believe much more in giving products a great meaning and high quality, so that they will serve people very long. 4. grip on the process product design is a creative process. And creative processes are scary, as we would create something that has never been done before. And that sounds scary in terms of managing such a process. Yet we have put into place a few powerful tools that help to manage this process. Every week you receive an with a balance sheet. We describe in that the things we have done last week and things that will be done next week. The balance sheet tells you every week how the project is running.

7 We design products while we continuously have the end user in mind. We make mockups & prototypes, run user research and test interaction and ergonomics.

8 our core services Proof of Principle using multiple quick iterations of concept sketching, modeling, mockups and development kits, we build and test new solutions that will form the core of new products. Design Strategy we thoroughly study and design the core meaning, use applications and design styling of a new solution or product, using research and creative tools. Concept Design sketching, creating quick mockups, testing on users and in our team, digital sketching and high quality automotive 3D surface modeling form the core of our concept designs. Interaction Design parallel with the concept design, our team creates interaction schemes, works on usability & ergonomics and designs interfaces.

9 our core services Development the newly created concept product develops further using 3D CAD software to fill in technical solutions and more details, including the design of electronics. Prototyping a continuous process during a design project to check usability and user friendliness. Design for Health medical design, creation of personal health devices, products for personal or elderly care require specific research and testing into usability, safety and ergonomics. Design for Change Creation of unexpected new solutions for governmental and non-governmental organizations, re-designing products and services to create positive social change.

29 discussie Onze visie: product design moet bijdragen aan een positieve verandering in het leven van mensen Vragen: - moeten overal displays in? - moeten producten intelligent? - moet alles worden verbonden? Case Niko Vredenburch Breda - hebben veel devices niet te kampen met bugs, teveel functies, teveel data? - is het niet zo dat in veel producten de elektronica het kwetsbaarste is, als eerste kapot gaat, energie verbruikt, snel veroudert.

30 discussie Vraag van klanten is vaak technologie gedreven (zowel mkb als multinational), omdat het kan : - wat als we muziek kunnen downloaden en afspelen op een fietsbel? (startup) - als we nu in elke ruimte een display hangen, dan kunnen we goed communiceren (multinational) motieven: - vanuit business / geld verdienen - concurrenten doen het ook, dus wij moeten ook iets doen met een App. - marketing: gedrag / informatie vergaring van gebruikers

31 betekenis Wij willen terug naar betekenis, langdurend, diepgaand: - dan levert een product positieve verandering voor mensen (bijv. helpen om meer te bewegen, zelf injecties kunnen doen, veiliger kunnen sporten) - hoe langer producten betekenis hebben voor mensen, hoe langer ze ermee zullen doen, in onze visie de meest duurzame relatie tussen mens en product. vanuit design helpen we daarbij: belichten van het menselijke aspect, aandacht voor interactie, gedrag, ergonomie, design strategie op basis van core meanings
