3 Sinds 1997 ontwikkelde City Mine(d) meer dan 100 prototypes in 15 Europese steden. Het was genomineerd voor de Sikkens Award in 2003, won de Thuis in de Stad prijs van de Vlaamse Regering in 2002, 2011 en 2014, en werd als Best Practice gepubliceerd door de Europese Commissie in City Mine(d) heeft bureaus in Brussel (B) en Londen (UK).

19 1. the market based model for increasing competition and choice in public services has undermined the achievement of key goals: large companies benefit most from public service contracts, not the local and the voluntary sector; 2. power has not being transferred from the state on any scale; 3. failure to target those in society who benefit least from society. The least affluent individuals and communities, disadvantaged, urban communities have the least sense of empowerment, the worst experiences of public services and the lowest levels of social action and voluntary sector infrastructure; 4. failure to establish a strong partnership with the voluntary sector: the sector s influence and sense of partnership with government, nationally and locally, seems to have been reduced 5. failure to mobilise the private sector to work for the common good.
