Kiewiet Cover voorzijde.indd Alle pagina's Diagnosis in acute abdominal pain and ongoing abdominal sepsis CURRICULUM VITAE Jordy Jan Sipke Kiewiet, zoon van Jurriën Kiewiet en Felicitas Visser, wordt op 24 mei 1980 te Alkmaar geboren, zeer toepasselijk op de Noord-Hollandse feestdag Luilak. Hij groeit op in Schoorl met zijn 3 grote zussen Cunera, Erlijn en Regina (ook wel zijn 3 extra moeders) en verhuist op 8-jarige leeftijd naar Aruba. Daar gaat hij in de leer bij de nonnen en blijkt hij talent te hebben voor honkbal als linkshandige pitcher. Als hij 14 jaar is, verhuist het gezin terug naar Nederland. Omdat hij al op jonge leeftijd weet hij dat hij een dokter die opereert wil worden, ligt een studie geneeskunde na het behalen van zijn VWO-examen in 1998 voor de hand. Tijdens deze studie ontmoet hij de Mokumboys en samen doorlopen ze nominaal hun studie (soort van). In 2005 behaalt hij zijn arts-examen en na het opdoen van klinische ervaring bij de chirurgen van het Ziekenhuis Amstelland en het OLVG, start hij in 2007 met zijn promotietraject bij Marja Boermeester in het AMC. Het aanvankelijke doel om dit te voltooien voor de start met zijn opleiding tot chirurg in 2011, wordt net niet gehaald. Daarentegen trouwt hij dat jaar wel met zijn grote liefde Anniek. De eerste 2 jaar van zijn opleiding blijft hij in het AMC, waarna hij zijn opleiding vervolgt in het OLVG. Inmiddels is hij daar begonnen met zijn GE-differentiatie, en is het gelukt om daarnaast dit prachtige proefschrift te voltooien!
