Introduction Even in a turbulent year due to increased socio political tension external economic outlook, the Turkish economy retained its momentum and achieved 2.9% growth in 2014. The total size of the retail sector in Turkey reached US$320 billion in 2014 and is expected to grow with a CAGR of 5% between 2015 and 2019. The non-food retail accounts for nearly US$ 170 billion The steady population growth and rapid urbanization of the country is also a driver of the retail market. Personal hygiene products market Personal hygiene products market turnover achieved a turnover of US$ 705.2 million in 2013. Supermarkets / hypermarkets form the leading distribution channel in the Turkish personal hygiene market, accounting for a 34.2% share of the total market's value. Turkey accounts for 4.5% of the total sales in European personal hygiene market following Germany, France and UK. According to the Ministry of Health, the cosmetics and personal care products industry employs 14.000 people, and approximately 3,250 companies manufacturing various cosmetics and personal care products are operating in the sector.
