Algemeen Secretariaat Secrétariat Général Generalsekretariat Secretariat General Secretaría General www.eurofedop.org The chairman of the EPU, Hermann Feiner, and the secretary general of had a meeting with the police organisation in Malta Malta, 27-28.04.2009 UHM (Union Haddiema Maghqudin) had organised a meeting with John Rizzo, Police Commissioner of Police General Head Quarters (photo 1) and with Sonny Portelli, Chairman of MCESD (Malta Council for Economic and Social Development) (photo 2). Following a press conference on the theme of Trade Union Rights for Police Officers, a conversation took place with Dr. Tonio Borg, Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Affairs Minister of Malta (photo 3). In preparation for the action planned on 1st May, a General Council Meeting took place at the office of UHM (photo 4), where the secretary general gave clarification on Eurofedop s current situation. Another activity planned during this mission, with the help of UHM President Gaetano Tanti, Vice-President Joseph S. Vella, Secretary General Gejtu Vella, and Assistant Secretary General Jesmond Bonello was a meeting with Malta s police staff association (photo 5). The European situation and affiliation possibilities were the subjects of a good conversation. In follow-up to this mission, secretary general Bert Van Caelenberg will have a meeting with the UHM officials on 07.05.2009 in Malta. Algemeen Secretariaat Secrétariat Général Generalsekretariat Secretariat General Secretaría General www.eurofedop.org De voorzitter van de EPU, Hermann Feiner, en de secretaris-generaal van bezoeken de politieorganisatie in Malta Malta, 27-28.04.2009 UHM (Union Haddiema Maghqudin) organiseerde een onderhoud met John Rizzo, Hoofd van de Politie op het Algemeen Hoofdkwartier van de Politie [foto 1], en met Sonny Portelli, voorzitter van de MCESD (Malta Council for Economic and Social Development) [foto 2]. Een persconferentie met als thema Vakbondsrechten voor Politieambtenaren werd gevolgd door een gesprek met Dr. Tonio Borg, Vice-Eersteminister & Minister van Buitenlandse Zaken van Malta [foto 3]. Als voorbereiding op de 1 meiactie had in de burelen van UHM een General Council Meeting plaats [foto 4], waar de secretaris-generaal de actuele situatie van Eurofedop toelichtte. Bij deze zending had dankzij de inspanningen van UHM-voorzitter Gaetano Tanti, vice-voorzitter Joseph S. Vella, secretaris-generaal Gejtu Vella en assistent secretaris-generaal Jesmond Bonello, ook een goed gesprek plaats met de personeelsvereniging van de Politie [foto 5]. Met hen werd over de Europese situatie en aansluitingsmogelijkheden gesproken. Als follow-up hebben secretaris-generaal Bert Van Caelenberg en de UHM-verantwoordelijken een onderhoud gepland op 07.05.2009 in Malta.
