Friday January 16 th 2017 Entering 2017 we look back evaluating which brands were most dominant in 2016 in the digital presence within their industry. Research by Dicitas Consulting ( who initiated this new award to recognize the digitally dominant brands, is not only executed in Belgium. Similar awards have recognized the digital dominant brands in the Netherlands and in Asia. For the Belgian market 55 brands were screened and 18 were nominated in 6 different categories (Banking, Insurance, Telco, Utilities, Food Retail, Products). The winners will receive their awards during the Digital Dominance Award Diner on the 26 th of January. This event is organized by Dicitas Consulting in collaboration with Conversion Talent ( and Yonego ( will start at 5pm at Chalet Robinson in Brussels. During the award evening topics will be tackled as how to identify the right digital talent and how to recruit them, anticipated digital trends for 2017 and in interactive session with the public how they look at the future. Belgium still catching up The results of the research show us still large differences between industries. Also geographically there still is a gap. Belgium still has a gap to close in most categories in comparison with the Netherlands and Asia. Despite the progress, there still remains for many consumers a mismatch between what they expect from a brand in this digital era and what the brands actually offer., says Davy Verhulst, partner at Dicitas Consulting responsible for the Belux practice. Closing this digital performance gap is for many companies high on their list of challenges to tackle. As a first step it is important how well they currently perform in comparison with their benchmark. Digital Dominance Index The 55 brands were compared and ranked based on their digital presence towards the consumer with the Digital Dominance Index as measure. Companies aim to create a competitive advantage by being recognized as an authority on specific digital channels. The Digital Dominance Index has as objective to identify the digital leaders in a given industry and provide insights on what is necessary to become such a digital leader. The index is an analysis based on common sense and facts available to the public and therefore objective in its nature. The index is based on the analysis in 5 most common digital dimensions: Website, Online Video, Mobile apps, Social Media search engine performance.

3 Persbericht De genomineerden voor de Digital Dominance Awards zijn bekend Vrijdag 16 januari 2017 Belgie Nu we 2016 hebben afgerond blikken we even terug naar welke merken er in België digitaal het meest dominant zijn geweest in hun vakgebied. Het onderzoek van het bedrijf Dicitas Consulting, dat een nieuwe vakprijs in het leven heeft geroepen om digitale dominantie te belonen is niet enkel in België maar ook in Nederland en Azië uitgevoerd. In België zijn in het totaal 55 merken gescreend en worden 18 merken genomineerd voor in 6 categorieën (Banken, Verzekeringen, Telecom, Nutsvoorzieningen, Food Retail, Retail en Consumentenproducten). De winnaars worden bekend gemaakt op 26 januari tijdens het Digital Dominance Award Diner. Dit evenement dat georganiseerd wordt door Dicitas Consulting in samenwerking met Conversion Talent, en Yonego zal plaatsvinden in Chalet Robinson te Brussel en gaat van start om 17u. Tijdens het diner zullen ook topics aangekaart worden omtrent hoe digitaal talent identificeren en rekruteren, wat de digitale trends zijn die voorspeld zijn voor 2017 en hoe het publiek van de avond naar de toekomst kijkt. België hinkt nog altijd achter Uit de resultaten van het onderzoek blijken er nog steeds grote verschillen te bestaan tussen de verschillende vakgebieden. Ook geografisch is er nog steeds een kloof. Zo hinkt België duidelijk achter t.o.v. van Nederland en Azië in zowat elke categorie. Er gaapt nog steeds een kloof tussen wat klanten verwachten en ervaren van een merk in de huidige digitaliserende wereld, zegt Davy Verhulst, partner bij Dicitas Consulting en verantwoordelijk voor de Belux praktijk. Het dichten van deze zogeheten digitale prestatiekloof is voor veel bedrijven een serieuze uitdaging. Hierbij is allereerst belangrijk te weten hoe goed bedrijven digitaal presteren. Digital Dominance Index De 55 merken werden vergeleken en gerangschikt volgens hun digitale media aanwezigheid bij de consument met als maatstaf de Digital Dominance Index. Bedrijven moeten een concurrentievoordeel creëren door een autoriteit te zijn op specifieke digitale kanalen. De Digital Dominance Index heeft als doel het identificeren van de digitale leiders in hun sector en inzicht verkrijgen in datgene wat nodig is om een digitale leider te worden. De index is een analyse op basis van gezond verstand en feiten over de 5 belangrijkste digitale dimensies: Website, Online Video, Mobile apps, Social Media en Zoekmotor dominantie. Voor het onderzoek werd gebruik gemaakt van publiek beschikbare informatie wat het vergelijken objectiveert.
