In dit jaarverslag In this Annual Report Global Pump Investment (GPI), in 1997 opgericht als investeringsmaatschappij, participeert in organisaties met een sterk eigen product en/of dienst die in een nichemarkt actief zijn of dat willen zijn. GPI heeft zich ontwikkeld tot een investeringsmaatschappij met een krachtig internationaal karakter met belangstelling voor maritieme en industrieel georiënteerde marktsegmenten. De maritieme markt blijkt nog zeer onstabiel en onzeker te zijn. De industriële markt heeft daarentegen wel voldoende perspectieven getoond. In 2012 zullen de eerste merkbare stappen gezet worden op het gebied van Lean productie en logistiek. MarFlex heeft in 2011 twee trainingscentra geopend. Zowel in Vladivostok als in Mumbai beschikken we daarmee over faciliteiten, waar bemanningsleden zich onder begeleiding van een trainer de bediening van de Deepwell pompen en VSDS volledig eigen kunnen maken. Communication between remote service engineers and crew on board is often coloured, resulting in wrong diagnoses, which ultimately lead to hypotheses that fail when expensive service engineers follow up on board. Zeker tien binnenvaartondernemers zitten met de hand aan de knop te wachten om een schip op LNG voortstuwing te bestellen wanneer de internationale vergunningen rond zijn. Mede vanwege het groene imago heeft Deen Shipping ervoor gekozen om de Argonon uit te rusten met acht elektrisch gedreven MarFlex MDPD-100 ladingpompen, elk met een capaciteit van 200 m 3 /uur. November 2011 saw the launching of the type C tanker Argonon (110 x metres, 6,100 tons), the first inland waterway tanker in the world to be powered by natural gas (LNG - Liquefied Natural Gas). In 2011 is de volledige projectadministratie overgeheveld naar het ERP-systeem Glovia. Dit reduceert de handmatige werkzaamheden, wat tijd en kosten bespaart. Op termijn zullen ook de financiële maandrapportages rechtstreeks vanuit Glovia worden gegenereerd. Human Resources De afdeling Human Resources implementeerde in 2011 een nieuwe HRM-softwareapplicatie waarin alle informatie m.b.t. personeelszaken gestructureerd en volledig kan worden vastgelegd. Ook de salarisadministratie maakt hier deel van uit. Tevens is er een start gemaakt met het opzetten van een nieuw functiewaarderingssysteem. Dit zal in de loop van 2012 verder vorm krijgen. Niet alleen in de maritieme industrie, maar ook in de overige industrie gaan we een betrouwbaar, betaalbaar instapmodel voor remote access aanbieden. Snel schakelen Toeleveranciers en eindklanten kijken tegenwoordig anders tegen voorraden aan dan een paar jaar geleden. De vraag om snel te leveren is gegroeid, maar de voorraden en de beschikbaarheid van componenten zijn gedaald. Dit vraagt om slimme oplossingen in de hele voortbrengingsketen.
