1 Samenvatting Inleiding civiele techniek Deeltentamen 2 periode Week 5 4 eisen voor goede architectuur: - Schoonheid, Venustas. - Functionaliteit, het moet goed te gebruiken zijn, Commoditas. - Stevig genoeg, het moet sterk en stijf genoeg zijn, Firmitas. - Het moet binnen een bepaald budget blijven, Economitas. Wat definities:

2 3 eisen waaraan een goede constructie moet voldoen: (de drie S-en) - Sterk genoeg zijn. - Stijf genoeg zijn. - Stabiel zijn. Stabiliteit is weerstand kunnen bieden tegen horizontale krachten, die komen door: - Scheefstand/excentriciteit. - Windbelasting. - Aardbeving. - Remmen/botsing. - Explosie. Bij een boogbrug is er alleen krachtsoverdracht door druk.

4 Bouwmaterialen voor draagconstructies: - Staal. - Beton. - Glas. - Kunststof. Het maken van ijzer (staal): Staal wordt gewalst tot de gewenste profielen. 3 slechte eigenschappen van staal: - Roesten, staal wil terug naar de ertsvorm Fe2O3. Om dit te voorkomen kan men het verven, thermisch verzinken of roestvast staal maken (= een legering). - Brandgevoelig. Bij een hoge temperatuur verliest staal zijn sterkte. Staal kan beschermd worden tegen hoge temperaturen door een sprinklerinstallatie of bekleden met hout, gipsplaten of brandwerende verf (opschuimen). - Vermoeiing, staal kan opeens bezwijken als er veel spanningswisselingen hebben plaatsgevonden. Dit kan voorkomen worden door het spanningsniveau te verminderen of betere staalsoorten te gebruiken. Beton = zand/grind+ cement+ water+ hulpstoffen+ vulstoffen

7 Week 6 BIM = Bouwwerk Informatie Model (=digitale technologie in de bouw) Hoofddoel van BIM = Informatievoorziening te vereenvoudigen bij de aanleg van projecten Hoe komt een bouwwerk tot stand: - Haalbaarheidsstudie (is er wel genoeg geld om het bouwwerk te bouwen). - Ontwerpen van het bouwwerk (voorlopig ontwerp definitief ontwerp). - Werkvoorbereiding (hoe moet het bouwwerk gebouwd worden). - Bouwen. - Opleveren (overdragen aan de opdrachtgever). - Gebruiken. Wie zijn er allemaal betrokken bij de bouw van een bouwwerk: - Gebruikers. - Opdrachtgever. - Aannemer. - Omwonenden. - Leveranciers. - Constructeur (maakt de constructie). - Architect. - Installateurs. - Bouwfysici (klimaat in het gebouw). Wat doet een ingenieur: Een ingenieur zorgt dat een bouwwerk technisch functioneert. Grondsoorten: Grond: - Korrels. - Waterdoorlatend. - Losse/vaste pakking. - Samendrukbaarheid pakking. - Goede draagkracht. Klei: - Plaatjes/schijfjes. - Slecht waterdoorlatend. - Samendrukbaar. - Matige draagkracht.

8 Veen: - Water + plantenresten - Samendrukbaar. - Slechte draagkracht. Grondspanning = korrelspanning + waterspanning Grond heeft wel inwendige wrijving, water niet. Verticale grondspanning = Actieve gronddruk laat de constructie bewegen en passieve gronddruk is in elkaar gedrukte grond. Keermuren: - Gewichtsmuur (Dankt de stabiliteit aan zijn eigen gewicht, wordt op staal gefundeerd, horizontale belasting wordt opgevangen door wrijving tussen de grond en de constructie.) - L-muur (Blijft in evenwicht door het eigen gewicht en het gewicht van de grond op de voetplaat. Kan zowel op palen als op staal gefundeerd worden.) - Muur op palen. - Kademuren. Bouwputten: - Open bouwput (Ingraving begrensd door taluds, grondwaterstand moet onder de bouwputbodem blijven met behulp van bronbemaling.) - Bouwkuip (Ingraving begrensd door damwanden, grondwaterstand wordt omlaag gebracht door bemaling. Er kan ook onderwaterbeton of een water afdichtende laag gebruikt worden voor de vloer.) Een open bouwput heeft de voorkeur, omdat deze vaak goedkoper is. Wanneer wordt er onder de grond gebouwd?: - Als de kosten boven de grond hoger zijn. - Als er boven de grond onvervangbare waarden staan. - Als het milieu hygiënisch noodzakelijk is. - Als er historische panden boven de grond staan. Belasting op een tunnel: - Grondbelasting. - Waterdruk. - Verschillende diepteligging.

9 Uitvoeringsmethodes: - Bouwput. - Afzinken. - Boren. Soorten funderingen: - Op staal (De fundering rust rechtstreeks op de draagkrachtige ondergrond.) - Op kelders. - Op poeren of putringen - Op palen. Week 7 4 soorten grond in Nederland: - Zand. - Silt/leem. - Klei. - Veen. Kenmerken zand: - Goed waterdoorlatend. - Weinig samendrukbaar. - Sterk, maar zwaar. - Goed te verdichten. - Geen kruip. (kruip = toenemende vervorming bij een gelijkblijvende belasting.) - Geschikt bouwmateriaal. Kenmerken klei: - Slecht waterdoorlatend. - Sterk samendrukbaar. - Cohesief (Bijna niet te verdichten.) - Niet sterk. - Kent tijdsafhankelijk vervormingsgedrag. Kenmerken veen: - Bestaat uit organisch materiaal. - Slecht waterdoorlatend. - Niet sterk. - Zeer sterk samendrukbaar (100x meer dan zand en 3x meer dan klei.) - Oxideert dichtbij de oppervlakte. - Zeer sterk tijdsafhankelijk vervormingsgedrag (50% van de samendrukking bij belasting.)

10 De eigenschappen van grond zijn variabel, beton en staal zijn door ons gemaakt dus weten we zeer nauwkeurig de eigenschappen. Kenmerken van de bodem in Nederland: - West Nederland, alles op palen funderen. - Zuid en Oost Nederland, laagbouw op staal. - Klei en veenlagen zijn heel slap. - Hoge grondwaterstand. Funderen op palen: - Zoek een sterke, draagkrachtige en stijve laag van zand. - Bepaald de puntweerstand. - Bepaald de schachtwrijving (kleef). - Draagkracht van de paal = puntweerstand + kleef. Een grondverbetering wordt toegepast als de zandlaag te diep ligt voor een staalfundering en te ondiep voor een paalfundering. Soils: - 2 phase materials. - Solid particles with spaces in between. - Spaces known as voids or pores. - Spaces filled with a pore fluid which may be air, water or both. Dry soils: the pore fluid is air. Saturated soils: the pore fluid is water. Unsaturated soils: the pore fluid is an air/water mixture. Drained soils: the pore fluid is free to move in or out the soil with no impact on the soil response. (slow loading and/or high permeability soils) Undrained soils: there is no movement of pore fluid within the soil and there is interaction between the solid particles and pore fluid. (rapid loading and/or low permeability soils) Partially drained: limited drainage and/or inflow of pore fluid. Total stress = effective stress + pore water pressure = = + Volumetric weight (in situ stress) = dry volumetric weight*distance dry soil + saturated volumetric weight*distance saturated soil = = 1 + 2

11 Pumping water: - Phreatic surface is lowered Pore pressures are reduced. - Effective stresses become larger Soil becomes stronger. - Soil skeleton takes more load Causes compression and surface settlements. Effects of increase in mean effective stresses volume decrease, keep in mind: Soil never fails and gets stronger duet o greater confinement! Effect of increase in shear stress (schuifspanning) distortion, soil weakens and soil will fail if the shear stress increases to much. Ultimate limit state = the construction fails. Serviceability limit state = construction is not safe to use. Coulomb failure Criterion: = +!"# c = cohesion (kpa) # = friction angle = effective stress Drained shear strenght(afschuifsterkte) depends on: - External confinement (due to soil self weight). - Effective shear strenght parameters: c and # Geotechnical design, what we need to consider: - The in situ stresses in the ground, especially the effective stresses. - The stress changes due to engineering construction, will they cause local shear failure? - Is there danger of a complete failure mechanism forming? Shearing (afschuiven) of dry soils: - Dense assembly of particles ( dilation dense------loose). - Loose assembly of particles ( contraction loose------dense). Week 8 In drained shearing there is no interaction between the solid and fluid phase. In undrained shearing there is interaction and this can have a big impact on the soil response. Drained loading = the loading is applied so gradually, or the soil permeability is so high, that water flows freely out of (or into) the soil without excess pore pressures having the opportunity to develop. 12 Undrained loading = the loading is applied so rapidly, or the soil permeability is so low, that there is no movement of water and excess pore pressures (positive or negative) are able to develop. Undrained loading: - The change in pore pressure during undrained loading is given by: = 1 ( 2 + 3) in which 1 is due to mean stress change and ( 2 + 3) is due to undrained shearing. - is not due to volume change. - is due to the prevention of volume change (due to the pore water being incompressible). - The soil is unsaturated if undrained loading results in volume changes and. Undrained shearing of soils: - Dense saturated assembly of particles (no volume change dense------dense, prevention of dilation(uitzetting) causes increase in strength.) - Loose saturated assembly of particles (no volume change loose------loose, prevention of contraction(inkrimping) causes decrease in strength.) Undrained shear strength depends on: - Intrinsic(innerlijk) confinement(opsluiting), imposed(opgelegd) by incompressible pore water on the soil skeleton. - Relative density, pore water imposes positive confinement(opsluiting) on dense soils due to suppression(onderdrukking) of dilation(uitzetting) and negative confinement on loose soils due to suppression(onderdrukking) of contraction(inkrimping). - Degree of saturation, the larger the saturation, the greater the interaction between phases. Liquefaction = rapid rise in pore pressure in loose sand layer. = = 0 Consolidation: (versterking) - When the total stress σ is applied at t = 0, there is no drainage and the system is incompressible. p = σand σ = 0 - When water is allowed to drain from the system the excess water pressure decreases. Load is transferred to the spring so that σ increases and the spring compresses. - When all drainage has occured the excess water pressure is zero. σ = σ and the settlement of the spring s is at a maximum.

13 Consolidation(versterking) after liquefaction: - Liquefaction is due to the suppression(inkrimping) of volume change during undrained shearing of very loose saturated soils. - During liquefaction, very high compressive pore pressures are generated and the effective stress drops to zero. - The excess compressive pore pressures subsequently dissipate(verdijven) by water flowing out of the soil. - At the same time there is transfer of load from the water to the soil skeleton, the effective stresses increase and the soil settles to a denser state. - Following liquefaction, the soil is less likely to liquefy in the future due to it being in a new denser state. - In coarser grained materials such as sands, consolidation can take place quickly once loading has ceased. Consolidation(versterking) due to loading: - During consolidation (versterking), the excess pore pressure dissipate and there is load transfer from the pore water to the soil skeleton. - In low permeability soils it is advantageous(voordelig) to speed up the consolidation process, in order to reduce the time during which ground movements are occuring.
