9 Mobile health in hospitals Framework for u-health in development in Korea Involves public, private, government Research question: what is the acceptance of the supporting technology by healthcare personnel? Preliminary finding: acceptance barrier lower than in the NL 9

10 Smart transportation Smart transportation management: Systems that support the management of transportation, such as TOPIS in Seoul and similar system in Incheon Research question: how does IT support the organization of (public) transportation in a smart city? Preliminary finding: massive use of CCTV and pattern detection, integrated infrastructure 10

11 Shopping and payments State-of-the-art 11 Wi-Fi positioning technology for tracking people in malls QR code-based mall shopping guide systems Pilot projects in Korea HomePlus: QR-shopping SK-Telecom: U-shopping body scan for shopping from home Research question: to what extent are these projects (going to be) successful and accepted? Preliminary finding: high acceptance, flexible payment methods offered by most (if not all) shops

15 Voorbereiding Keuze hoofdthema: Internet of Things (IoT) Doelstelling: een toegankelijk boek schrijven over IoT Iedere student schrijft een hoofdstuk van plm pagina's. Iedere student werkt individueel aan een subthema van IoT; samenwerking in kleine groepjes wordt gestimuleerd. Helder takenpakket en beoordelingsystematiek vastgesteld. Afhankelijk van de kwaliteit van de hoofdstukken zal er getracht worden een uitgever te vinden, en wordt er mogelijk ook een congres georganiseerd door de studenten. 15 Kan mogelijk als Capita Selecta (nog toestemming vragen) MSc & BSc studenten; Informatica & Informatiekunde Keuzevak naast 1 (één) vak in periode 4

16 Taken (niet definitief) 1. Bedenken en verdeling van deelonderwerpen onder dit thema IoT; 2. Literatuuronderzoek 3. State-of-the-practice onderzoek in NL plus bezoeken 2 a 3 bedrijven 4. Voor vertrek schrijft iedere student twee pagina's over het onderwerp; die door de groep circuleren. 5. Presentaties aan de groep 6. Bezoek in Israel bij Universitaire onderzoeksgroepen werkend aan IoT; gerichte interviews, papers lezen 7. Bezoek in Israel bij bedrijven in IoT dienstverlening of producten 8. Presentaties aan bedrijven en universiteiten in Israel 9. Na trip 3 weken voor schrijven draft hoofdstuk 10. Peer review door 2 studenten 11. Draft beoordeling door docent 12. Na 3 weken definitieve versie inleveren 13. Finale beoordeling tekst door docent 14. Samenstelling boek 15. Onderzoekseminar IoT met presentaties door studenten voor Dept Informatica 16
