8 Exercise 5: Questions The zoo needs help Read the text. In onze dierentuin zorgen we goed voor onze dieren. Wij proberen ook bedreigde dieren in het wild, zoals panda s of orang-oetangs, te verzorgen. Zo proberen we het milieu te verbeteren. Wij vragen jouw hulp en dat kan op twee manieren. Je kunt ons in de vakantie helpen met het schoonmaken van de hokken in de dierentuin of je kunt ons geld geven. Met een klein bedrag kunnen wij zorgen voor een beest in onze dierentuin en dan krijgt dat dier jouw naam. Je familie kan meer geld geven om zo een olifant te redden. Met een nog groter bedrag kan je school een heel jaar voor een groep dieren zorgen. Met jouw hulp kunnen we het leven van dieren beter maken. Natuurlijk krijg je er ook iets voor terug; we sturen je regelmatig een brief met nieuws over onze dierentuin. Write brief answers IN ENGLISH. 10 Exercise 6: Questions Healthy living Read the suggestions. Gezond leven is vaak makkelijker dan je denkt. Ontbijt is de belangrijkste maaltijd van de dag. Dat heb je nodig om je brein na een nacht slapen wakker te maken. Is eten voor school moeilijk? Neem dan een belegde boterham mee voor de pauze, dat is absoluut beter dan een stroopwafel. Tegenwoordig worden kinderen vaker naar school gebracht. Als ze ouder zijn, gaan ze soms met de brommer. Maar door dagelijks te fietsen, blijf je fitter. Heb je het gevoel dat je voortdurend moet studeren voor je examens? Zorg dan dat je tussendoor ook wat anders doet. Sporten is niet alleen goed voor je maar je ontmoet bovendien nieuwe vrienden. Je hersenen hebben dan tijd om te ontspannen en je slaapt beter. Iedereen weet dat frisdrank niet gezond is. Dat betekent niet dat je het nooit mag drinken. Bewaar dat soort drankjes voor feestjes, dan geniet je er ook meer van. Water is en blijft beter voor het lessen van de dorst. Complete the statements by ticking (3) the correct box. 12 Exercise 7: Questions Outdoor pursuit Read the text. De meeste mensen denken dat het warm moet zijn om te kamperen. Maar je kunt ook s winters in de natuur slapen in Nederland. Ja, Nederlanders houden van avontuur. Als het buiten vriest, huur je gewoon een hutje. Je hoeft dan alleen maar een slaapzak mee te nemen. Nederlanders toeren graag door een onbekend deel van Nederland en overnachten dan s avonds op een camping. Ook s winters is dat leuk, maar dan is kamperen in een tent te koud. Daarom hebben sommige campings hutjes om te overnachten. Je ziet vaak volwassenen op de fiets. Er zijn ook groepjes tieners die zo s winters fietsen een uitdaging vinden. De omgeving ziet er zo mooi uit. Het is ook fijn om bezig te zijn als het koud is. Het is s winters veel rustiger op de camping. Mensen komen daarom elk jaar weer trouw terug. Na een dag fietsen is het fijn om warm binnen te zitten. Het is ook erg gezellig om s avonds met een kaarsje op tafel spelletjes te doen. Op sommige campings doen ze wat extra s. Daar is een kampvuur aan het eind van de middag. Alle kampeerders zitten dan om het vuur. Je drinkt warme chocolademelk en luistert naar de verhalen over wat iedereen heeft gedaan. 14 Exercise 8: Questions Work experience Read the text. Er is een paar maanden geleden onderzoek gedaan naar de baantjes van scholieren in Nederland en België. Ongeveer 500 leerlingen deden mee. Meer dan de helft waren meisjes. Tachtig procent van de jongeren had een baantje. De meeste van de geïnterviewden werkten in een supermarkt. Een grote groep werkte bij een restaurant. Een paar mensen hadden hun eigen bedrijf, maar dat aantal was te verwaarlozen. Er waren natuurlijk ook veel scholieren die oppasten. Dat is een baantje dat je zelfs kan doen als je veel huiswerk hebt, tenminste als de kinderen klein zijn en al in bed liggen. Maar sommige jongeren zijn niet tevreden, zoals Sacha. Zij werkt bij een sterrenrestaurant. Leuk vind ik het niet, mijn salaris komt weken te laat, en soms is het maar de helft en komt de rest nog later. Ik durf niet tegen mijn baas te klagen, want ik heb het geld broodnodig. Ik kan alleen maar avonden in het weekend werken en dan wil iedereen werken, dus het is moeilijk om een andere baan te vinden. Dit soort verhalen hoor je wel vaker, maar de meeste jongeren geven hun baan een zeven. Er zijn natuurlijk uitzonderingen, maar over het algemeen vinden scholieren het het allerbelangrijkste dat ze geld hebben om iets leuks te kopen of te doen. Answer the questions briefly IN DUTCH.
