Macro LOT AA ligt in Rive de Billancourt in Parijs en grenst aan de Seine. Het plot is gelegen op het knooppunt van de belangrijkste elementen van het stedenbouwkundige plan: de oude stad, de nieuwe wijk, de Seine en Parc de Billancourt. Het gebied van 72 ha, gelegen op het oude fabrieksterrein van Renault, krijgt een nieuwe identiteit. Hoogstaande architectuur, een waardevol landschap en respect voor het milieu worden op een eigentijdse manier samengevoegd. Straks zullen er zo n 15.000 mensen wonen en werken. De commerciële toren C1 van Jean Nouvel, de geplande kantoortoren D5 en het woongebouw macro LOT AA zullen de drie iconen van Le Trapeze vormen. Het woongebouw van 16.600 m2 BVO bestaat uit 180 appartementen, een woon/zorg voorziening voor mensen met het locked-in-syndroom, commerciële ruimte en een parkeergarage.

The 130 meters long facade facing south to the park overlooking the Seine provides an uncomfortable courtyard. The triangular shape of the plot ensures that a relatively small inner area remains, a courtyard that is almost always in shadow.
Three questions: 1-How can we create a pleasant courtyard with high quality, while respecting the rules of the urban plan, with its large facade on Park Avenue? 2-Wouldn t it be great if every occupant from each apartment in the block can enjoy the beautiful view over the Seine and the park? 3-Can the central courtyard become a quiet green oasis where people can enjoy the sun and the views, while it feels like an extension of the park?

The high wall that continues the facade on park avenue creates a courtyard that is almost always in shadow.
By folding a part of the wall, we created a quiet courtyard and a stunning window to the park with views overlooking the park and seine.
Additional volumes are extracted from the volume to connect the courtyard with the public space and create a secure transition to the neighbours.
We treated the roofs as a continues landscape with additional exclusive duplex apartments.
We divided the green courtyard in different strips. Every strip gets its own program to encourage relaxation or activities and reacts differently to the underlying program
